  2. Well if you ever do get bit on the lip, or any of us for that matter, We can try to look on the positive side, "Hey a new piercing!" And go out and find a cool new lip ring to put in....lol :woohoo:
  3. I love it! How old is Tigerlilly? Sorry if I have asked that already, I ask everyone, so I forget :silly: She is certainly Gorgeous! And LOVE the accent! And is she saying "oh dear me" after each sneeze? lol That is SO cute!
  4. Awe, I love it! She is such a doll baby! I love her sweet little voice Keep those videos coming, You and Tigerlilly are born naturals!
  5. Really?! No Petting under the wings??? Uh oh, Lol...I know Ecko is not even a full 5 months yet, but I pet him under the wings a lot....Should I stop this? Or is it not a problem till they have reached sexual maturity? And Azzie: Congrats on having such a sweet snuggly baby! My Ecko likes that too, I gently grab his beak and say "I got your beak" haha, He loves it
  6. Awe, That is so sweet! She is such a great talker! Shake your boo, lol so funny
  7. Yeah, Thanks everyone! I will try and get a pic...it will have to be after his shower though, lol, my camera isnt water proof, and boy does he splash it all over the place! I will get a pic soon though I know what you mean, they are so skinny under those feathers, I am glad someone else thinks the same thing! I am like "yikes! have some more sun flower seeds!" lol cuz you know, they are so fatty... Anyway, Thanks for the replies everyone!

  11. {Feel-good-0002006E} That is SO funny! They know what they are doing, They just like playing there little games with us, little stinkers!
  12. Awe, I know how you feel, It can be pretty frustrating...Ecko is only about 4 and a half months, so I have been working with him for a long time to be happy with water...I sounds (and looks) really silly, But they say to put them on the shower rod or perch or something and let them see you showering, and while you are showering, make it look like a TON of fun, Shake the water off you, Laugh, Pretty much make it look like you are a bird taking a birdie bath, haha...So yeah, I felt pretty dumb, But I guess it has paid off! Congrats on you U2's first happy shower!
  13. Yeah, he did, I am so glad I was really hoping I would get him use to water and showering! My other birds dont really like it at all, My Quaker use to like to take baths in a tupperware container, Untill one day I filled it just a LITTLE too full to his liking, He jumped in and sort of floated like a duck and he has never went in since He still tries to bathe in his water dish though, my lovebird too, I just wish I could get them to bathe in something else!
  14. That is so cool! What a great talker he is! How old is Dayo? How old was he when he started talking? He sounds like a natural for sure! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Ok so I have been putting Ecko on the Shower curtain rod just about every other night when I take a shower, I only got him wet about 2 times and just a quick in and out...So last night he was in there with me, And I got him down off the thing and he like flipped out (in a good way)! HE was LOVING the water, He started putting his wings out and got his feathers all raised up and started showering like crazy! He was having SO much fun, Then I put him back up on the curtain rod so I could turn the shower off, and he ran over to the water and tried to get in again! So I let him in it again, and he was just going to town, Then I finally shut the water off and put him back in his cage, and he jumped into his water bowl and started trying to get as wet as he could, lol...He was already soaking wet though! I think he turned in a duck over night or something, lol Anyway, Just thought I would share! Hope everyone is well!
  16. I agree...Thats why I said if you were cut out for all the time and work it takes its worth it becaus eof all the joy they give you... And I Agree TYcos_mom, All pets take a ton of work, Parrots are just a differant kind of work that not everyone realizes
  17. I think it is a great idea! I could have filmed my whole day the other day cleaning all 4 BIG bird cages, And not just changing the paper in the bottom, But scrubbing all the poop off the cages and the grates in the bottom (and top if it is a playtop cage) and scrubbing the floors and the seed/poop catchers...I do it all the time, and it still takes me ALL day everytime I do it. And then you put them in thier nice clean cage that you just spent hours on, and then they drop a big gooey poo right on the clean stuff, and then go to thier food dish and fling out all the food, then go into thier water dish and fling water everywhere trying to take a bath...LOL...BUT if you are cut out for all of this, all this doesnt even matter because they bring you so much joy But yeah it sounds like a great idea just to let people that have never owned birds aware of all the work and money and sweat that goes into owning these beautiful creatures Keep us all posted and I will defanitly help out in any way I can
  18. I dunno the answer to that question, but it sounds really cute! lol Silly birds!
  19. Awe, Thank you so much Tycos_Mom, That is really sweet I try my best for all my animals...I feel so bad for all the ones mistreated in the world, And I think of it as my part in helping animals have wonderful pampered lives So your compliment really means a lot, Thanks...You are such a great Parront too Everyone here seems to be so good to their parrots and other animals and it is so nice to share stories with other animals lovers like me! YOU ALL ARE GREAT! :silly:
  20. This is a great post! It has helped me so much with getting my baby Grey to like toys....The possessive thing is the BEST, haha...It REALLY makes them want it! The only toy these tips havnt worked with is an "elmos world" cell phone that when you push a number it says the number...He absolutley HATES that thing...I put it near him one day and he made the absolute WORST noise you could ever imagine coming out of your parrot, lol, I quickly hid it under some towels so he didnt have a little bird heart attack! But other than that, It works great and thanks for such a great post!
  21. Oh Yay, A New person! Welcome! I bet you cant wait for your grey, I know I couldnt wait for mine! When you get him or her dont forget to send pics!
  22. Talon, It is just regular screening, But they are never out there without me, So they dont get a chance to chew it. I didnt do it for an aviary, We did it for us, haha, And they just come out there with us when we go out. I would LOVE to have my whole backyard screened in with some kind of screening to make it a giant aviary. But thats pretty much outtta the question, Lol, So the screened in back porch will do for now I would say for you though if you want them out there unsupervised you would have to use some kind of chicken wire or something, I dunno...
