1. All I can say his technics leave much to be to desired. I wouldn't waste your money. He uses some cruel technics such as witholding food which to me is very cruel a bird should do thing out of love not because it the only way it going to get any food. how would you like it if you wern't allowed to eat til you jumped through a few hoops for someone. Just My opinion. most of his stuff is total garbage and does not deserve a second look.
2. My birds prefer frozen veggies also alot of time i'll cook a yam or a sweet potato and then mash frozen mixed veggie's in with them my birds gobble it down like it was the best thing they have ever eaten. I love to watch them eat like that. with their beaks just covered in food and their heads don't come up until its gone.
3. Well thats great that your trip went well and your baby and you are home safe and sound. It sound to me like your baby has taken a likeing to you already. they are so precious. Please pictures as soon as you get a minute or 2 I'm looking forward to seeing your baby.
4. Darwin sounds like he's trying to get home as soon as possible eating all his food up so he can be with youall the time. what a good boy. A week must seem like an enternity at this point but it will be here before you know it. sounds to me like he really loves you thats so great I want to see all those pics you promised as well. Have a good week.
5. What a great deal I wish we had a store like that I paid 27.00 for the largest boing I have and the smallest one for my conures was 18.00 you got some very good deals. do you think if I ask them they would open another store near where I live I'd travel 20 miles to get deals like that.
6. That is a beautiful picture of Adaya you should blow it up and frame it. Adaya is a beautiful Tag. Very nice thanks for sharing
7. I think someone must have swapped Tyco on me you would not beleive the attitude change thats come over her since I brought the baby home. Tyco is sweet and loving and always wants to play. I spent an hour last night just trying to put her to bed. She wanted kisses and scritches and then she wanted to play tug-o-war with her blanket then peek a boo then more kisses then when I finaly got her cage door closed she reached through the bars and grabed my finger and wouldn't let go. what a girl I can't help but love her to bits. She certinaly has come a long way since I got her. THAT MY SWEETHEART!!!
8. I agree with Judy I keep looking to see if you have checked in with news about the baby. can't wait to see some baby pictures.
9. That so great if she tells her siblings she got to hold Adaya the next time they all come over they are going to want to also. I can just hear it. why did she get to and we can't we want to hold the birdy too
10. I think its going to depend on how noisy it is and he your new bird is able to sleep through the noise. If your bird isn't able to sleep then I would put him in his sleep cage. A solid 10 hours of sleep is an nessesity for birds. If your bird isn't getting the sleep he needs it would stress him even more than a second cage would
11. your story touched me and i'm so sorry about your Grey flying away. I also was on deaths door step 7 years ago the Dr's sent my home to die after a case of blood poisoning going to my heart. the replace all of my blood and still my hemaglobin was at 2 and my blood presure wasn't regestering. i had septasemia really bad. and because of it my legs burnt from the inside out all the way to the bone. and my tendents where in a huge ball behind my knee my legs could not strighten out because of it. But it is trully amazing the healing powers of the body when my Dr told me I was going to die I said I don't have time to die it can't Happen I'm living today and walking today thank the good Lord. my birds keep me going and I was so close to death I look at life so differently then I used to It can be taken away in a heart beat so live it to the fullest and keep a smile on your face. I try to never let thing get me down and I definatly don't worry about things I have no control over. Everything works out for the best anyway. enjoy your new Timnah and don't worry about tomorrow. Today your here and all is well
12. Nice name I'd steal it if I new for sure my baby was a girl. I love names that begin with A all my Daughter's have names that begin with A Ashley, Amber, and Andraya I think Adaya would be a perfect name for a baby girl parrot. I guess you thought so also:laugh: I love the play gym you have for her she is spoilt rotten
13. Thats so great don't forget to write it in your baby book under baby's first words. Now your in for it he will be butting in on your conversations soon. They seem to always have to put their 2 cents worth in the more they learn to talk and understand the english language. Those first words and so special though and your bird is a real little smarty pants for learning so young.
14. Look at this little guy trying hard to look out and see whats happening in the world. s/he is so curious and so active and growin so fast I can just tell the baby stage is going to be over way to soon. The rest of my flock seems to be very interested in the new baby also yesterday I had four birds on my bed with me all trying to see what this new little one was doing Raja and Sprout where sitting on my shoulders for what seemed like hours just watching Tyco couldn't keep her eyes off baby either and was perched in the best spot for a good veiw Fergie has been curios since day one but she is not as determined as she was to get close. Gizmo likes to watch me feed the baby I feed baby at the dining room table and Bandits cage is in the dining room he comes and sits as close as he can to watch and let me know if I'm doing everything up to his satisfaction. All in all I think they will accept the new commer no problem none of the bird seem to be aggresive towards itso I think we will be okay. anyway heres a picture of baby tring very hard to check out his world.
15. have you found an Avian vet in your area? you didn't mention that I just think its very important to have a vet lined up if you live close to your breeder mabie you can ask who she/he uses and use the same vet. You must be so excited. I know what thats like they are so sweet I don't know why I didn't get a baby along time ago. They are allot of work though and a huge responsibility its like have a new human baby almost.
16. I like the cage you have picked out for Simba in the future its very nice the one you got for her now will make a great sleep cage later. Its nice to have 2 cages. Your baby will be just fine once you get home. right now he's in a very stressful enviroment with lots of different faces looking at himm all the time. he will be much happier once he's out of the pet store and home with you
17. woooo So Tyco would say she just loves the colour pink. you have great legs Dave I bet you get lots of wolf whistles from the guys on the construction site:laugh:
18. That scale is way to expensive and not nessesary I bought a digital food scale that weighs in grams and oz. for 30 dollars it weighs up to 10 ibs. and my birds stand right on the plate. This is a picture of my scale. your bird is absolutly beautiful by the way and you should be able to feel its breast bone but there shou be a good amount of musle on either side.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/03/18 07:26
19. S/he was hatched on February 7th so about 5 1/2 weeks. I can't beleive how fast they grow I just got baby on Sunday afternoon and I swear s/hes growen already. I know her feathers have definatly come in more. this baby is the sweetest little thing I was cuddling with it on my chest and he came crawling up and was preening my face checking out every inch of my face and even preened a strand of my hair. I would say s/he has definatly settled in already we are getting very close. You should see it do the potty dance I laugh everytime he goes poop he takes 2 steps to the right then 2 steps to the left shakes his tail while he steps back and squats its so cute. s/he is also pretty playful and very curious about everything he trys to eat my rings and my daughter was over today and he just loved her neckless didn't want to let go. I going to have to watch that baby doesn't go missing my daughter fell totally in love she wants that baby reallyy badly She said if I come over everyday and play with him and bond with him can I take him home when he's weaned. I told her the only way she could have it is if I died she will have to waid another 30 or fourty years from now then she can take him home. What a sweet temperment this little guy has If you all met him you would be running out to get your own s/he is such a joy. I'm telling you though I glad I didn't take the other 2 he wanted me to feed for him I would be a nevrvous wreck its bad enough with just one it like haveing a new born baby sterilizing everything makeing sure he's kept nice and clean and their and no poop in his house. making formula checking to makes sure its the right tickness and the right tempature . making sure his little crop is emptying good and that hes just full enough not to full its allot of work just haveing 1 I'm glad I don't have three.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/03/18 06:39
20. I love the toy you got for Baxter It would look very good in both my Greys cages even though the baby isn't in its cage yet and Tyco doesn't play with hanging toys very much She love her Boing and thats about the only hanging toy besides her big stainless steal bell that she plays with Tyco prefers foot toys. Mabie I will have better luck with the baby I hope s/he like hanging toys I think they would be nice toys even if they don't play with them they would look nice I'd like to get one for all the birds the Brat one would sure suit my Conure.
21. very cute video's what a sweet heart pepper is I wish Tyco liked the camera she absolutly thinks its out to get her. I have to sneak up on her to take a picture.
22. I think Its the Formula that my breeders uses I saw some greys when I was there that where 8 weeks old and already trying to fly. Its made be zupreem and he says that the birds seem to do way better on it then they did when he used to feed the exact formula. any way your right this guy of mine is growing like a bad weed I can see a differenc just in the 2 days that I've had him he's going to be one big bird I think. I'm glad the breeder gave me a couple pounds of the Zupreen formula because I don't know where to get it around here when I get low on his I'm going to have to mix it half and half with the exact so I can transfer him over.
23. Don't feel bad Thats the same size cage Tyco my Grey lived in for the first 4 years of his life. Then I adopted him and got him the biggest cage I've ever seen He loves it and uses every bit of it I might add Its a cage made for a large Macaw but to me its the perfect size for Tyco. Sounds like your Grey is content and happy he could probubly use a little more out of cage time but if that all you can spare than its ok I think Grey's should have at least 4 hour out of cage time per day.
24. I made a toy for Gizmo when he first came home he loves it and its so simple I took some plastic shower curtin rings and made a chain the in every third or fourth ring I put a rooled up news paper he loves to rip and shread it to peices it make a mess but worth it because he loves it so much.
25. I just had to share a couple pics with you all I can't beleive how curious this little guy is justs has to check out everything s/he sees. sorry the ones where s/he's playing with the toy aren't very good baby wouldn't hold still for a second. oh Well it gives you a little look at baby playing.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/03/17 20:50
