Really see if you can find a certified Avian vet. Its really quite important. A regular vet basicly deaLS cats and dogs they do cover all animals when they go to scool but its just the basics if you want someone that trully nows what birds are all about you need a vet that has specilized in birds. You wouldn't go to you GP to get a Face lift even though he cover the basis in school you want someonne that speicilizes in Plastic surgery its the same with you bird he/she needs a specialist.

My baby just loves to sitnand stare at me and make all kinds of baby noises Its so sweet makes me want to just sqeeze him/her :laugh: if your baby is putting her head back and opening her mouth she is asking for food. are you sure she is getting enough shes very young you might want to try some warm oat meal with applesause or something like that from a spoon its just a little comfort food mabie just before bed to make sure she has a full crop to sleep on

It sounds to me like she's going to pick you as him new owner I so happy for you it sound like this bird has a very loving owner and that is going to make all the difference he's going to bond very quickly to you. It sounds like he likes you already.

Your baby is a couple weeks older than mine so mine fell alot I think because your bird is older he has better ballance. That is riddiculus what does weaning have to do with DNA I guess there isn't an avian vet around where you live. You can look on the internet and see there are biolabs that do dna testing you just have to send in either a couple feathers or a drop of blood. I myself couldn't pull my babys feathers but I could clip a toenail a little short just til it bleeds then send in a drop of blood If you do this make sure to have some steptic powder or flour od cornstarch to stop the bleeding. I don't have the link but the girl with the other new baby posted it in her thread you can look it up Its probubly cheeper that way also It cost me 52.00 to get done at the vet. My vet didn't have to wait til s/he was weaned.

There is no way I would take the chance the day the pesticide people cam is the day all my birds would be comeing to work with me Even if I had to leave them in the car covered up it would be better than taking any chances. I have enough friends and family that I could leave my birds for a day until I aired my apt out totaly

The only 2 birds that don't get along in my flock are Tyco and Bandit my cockateil for some reason Tyco hates him. Mabie its because Tyco and Spike my white faced cockatiel that died after crashing into a window when the dog spooked him Tyco and Spike where best friends Spike did everything tyco did, and said everything Tyco said. Spike thought he was an african grey. after he died and Bandit got here Tyco hates him I guess she doesn't want a replacement for her little friend

It sounds to me like he's just going through a bit of a hormonal stage He hasn't got a mate and mabie that plant is helping him with his frustrations I used to have a love bird that had a rooled up pair of socks that he used as his mate it was very funny but it kept him happy and friendly.

They all like to bath in their water dishes thank goodness its only water everywhere it can't do much damage.:laugh:

That is so great I remember when Tyco let me give her scritches for the first time I was on cloud 9 for days. From that day forward our relationship changed there where very few backsteps only forward and we are very good friends now. It took 7 months for Tyco to allow me to touch her feathers in any way.

Fergie visits Gizmo all the time they have been friend since Gizmo was still in quaritine Fergie would sit outside his door and talk. Another one I'm really shocked at is my Green cheeked Conure altough I never leave them alone because of the size difference but they look alot alike and have become good friends also I think Sprout thinks Gizmo is just a big Conure and Gizmo thinks Sprout is a Very Small Macaw.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Yesterday I was looking all over the Place for Tyco. Tyco can't fly very well because she never learned as a baby. sO she usually hangs out either on her playtop her boing or on Fergies playtop Gizmo's cage is 2 rooms away in the diningroom because his cage is so big I had no more room for another huge cage anywhere else. anyway I was looking everywhere in the room for Tyco and she wasn't to be found so I started to look else where and I found her sitting on Gizmo's Cage top and she and Gizmo where yaking away at each other like they've been life long friends. Thats the second time I 've seen Tyco in that room the first time was about a month ago when she flew that far for the first time. and now she has done it again. I'm going to make a flyer out of that girl yet:laugh:

Your baby is really cuteI lave those baby dark eyes enough to turn your heart to hot butter. what a sweetheart is he totaly weaned or are you handfeeding him.If you are handfeeding how many times a day? just curious? I'm haveing some great time raisingmy little one they grow up so quick.

I use 1 part bleach to no less than 10 parts water there is very little smell and it enough to disifect My breeder swears by it Just rince well and bleach is a good sanitizer.

I would take her to the vet and have hemdo her nail greys can become quite nervous and if you tryed to towel her to clip her wing it may lose any trust that you have gained with her by taking her to the vet and haveing them clip her nail then you go in after its all done you then become the rescuer instead of the villin. its not expensive to get their nails clipped usually around 10 to 15 dollars. or you could just but some concrete perches and place them in her cage where she will use them allot and that will help to keep her nails in good shape.Oh yea welcome to ourlittle family I have 2 Cags one is a 6 yr old and the other is a 8 week old baby still being hand fed

Wow you really got allot of birds do you breed any of them? I have 7 birds also and that is about all I can handle you must be Superwoman to be able to give all those birds the love and affection they need.

Thats a great thing I can tell you two are going to be the best of friends. He's still very much a baby so he still young enough to bond quickly to you. Did you get him from a breeder a petstore or a private seller just curious.Well you waited 14 yrs and now you 2 have the next 60 yrs or so to grow old together. what fun. He really is a pretty looking Grey. He looks like a big guy also do you know how much he weighs.

Is'nt it wonderful to finally have your little one home to snuggle and play and love to pieces It gets better and better as weeks go by they learn so much and they are just a joy to have around I've had my baby for a about a couple of weeks now and s/he growing so fast I can hardley keep up I hope mine does as well at eating as yours is mines not weaned yet but I'm trying as many new kinds of fuits and vegetables as I can and so far s/he love the Zupreem fruity pellets best and broccoli :laugh:

Our baby's are so close to the same age this is fun whatching your baby do the same thing that my baby does how many times a day are you feeding him. Shady is still on three handfeeds a day but I think I'm going to cut him back to 2 handfeeding in the next couple days depending on how much he's eating of his veggies abdd pellets.
