3. Your baby is soooooo precious what a little sweetheart. if I didn't have a baby all ready that video would definatly make me want to get one. You found a great breeder she obviously loves and cares for her baby's a great deal. Thank you for sharing is growing up with us. I can hardly wait for the next video.
4. Hi Gorgass The recipe is to long to post but if you GOGGLE rice and bean mash for parrots you will get lots of recipes for different ones. I give Shady Chopped raw broccoli he loves it and it is great for him. High in lots of vitamins that parrots need. Potatos have to be cooked so does squash, turnip, but allot of thins can be fed raw. at your babys age he would probubly like something warn and mushy its comfort food for parrots thats why its always good to give them both cooked and raw vegetables Dark green leafy veggie are really good for him raw. just feed him things that you would feed your Children from pasta to veggies a little chicken of lean beef cooked of course is also good once in a while My Tyco loves chicken when she smells it cooking she goes on and on saying Chicken yum yum want some chicken yummy for my tummy. Its very cute Tyco is my 6 year old african Grey in case you didn't know. She also really like Speggetti with meatsauce and parmasan cheese. shes only allowed a little bit of sauce for flavor but she just gobbles it down. Like I said anything that you eat thats healthy is also good for your bird.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/05 14:38
5. This bird will dehydrayte and die very quikly if its not eating of drinking get that bird to a vet asap or it will die. There is a difference between voniting and regurgatataying and your bird is vomiting don't wait go to the vet asa soon as you can. if you can give it anykind of liquids try Apple sauce grapes petalyte for children but go to the vet please.
6. Ok then water it is.
7. Oh my what a beutiful baby you have I just love the picture of her in her Harness you've done a wonderful job with her. I hope my baby turns out just a sweet I'm sure s/he will She is such a little tiny thing isn't she My baby is such a Brute how much does she weigh. I love the name Darwin I think its a perfect name for her. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures with us definatly worth the wait.
8. Please read through the handfeeding thread in the nursery its very important. I know Timnahs mature faster than Cags so I would say you could proubuly start putting a variatiy of fresh chopped up small fruits and veggatables in his cage. if your worried about him climbing don't its the only way he's going to learn put a blanket under the newspapers so if he falls he won't get hurt also if the cage allows for it place a perch at one end about 3 inches from the side of the cage down low so He can learn to perch when and if he's ready. Just offer lots of healthy foods and your bird will slow itself down on handfeeding itself don't stop until he starts refusing it on his own. There is a ton of useful information on this forum just use the search option for any questions and if you can't find something just ask your question and someone will always be willing to help. welcome to our family what is your baby's name.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/04 22:32
9. Good Idea I used to make the 12 bean and rice mash all the time for my birds but they went off it I think I'll make some this afternoon for them mabie they will like it again its been a couple months since I made some I have everything I need for it so I'm off to the kitchen to make mash for the baby's. Icannot believe how much Shady loves broccoli I fill his little plate full of chopped broccoli and 5 minutes later its all gone. I kope he likes bean mash. When I had love birds they almost lived on it they couldn't get enough of it. Thanks again for the reminder. Don't forget Gorgass anything that you eat thats healthy your baby can eat also except avacados, raw onions and things with sugar cafine choclate even a little cheese isn't bad for them because it so high in calcium the good kinda over rule the bad.So give him a variaty make him some squash and a nice salad with tons of different fruits and veggie once he trys it he will be off the formula in no time if he won't try something you eat it in front of him his curiosity will get the better of him and he will try it and might even like it. I did that with the scrambled eggs yesterday and Shady loved them.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/04 22:11
10. hi Gorg you have to keep giving him fresh fruits and veggies because even if he doesn't eat them now he may try them and decide he likes it. I gave my bsby some scrambled eggs yesterday and he loved them he also likes Strawberry's cut uo small, Chopped broccoli, grated carrots, and apples he also likes walnut chopped and he seems to really enjoy his seed mix I've only been giving him a little seed mix because I want him to eat pellets but he seems to have gone off his pellets he used to eat them good before I started giving him other foods now he hardly toches them. My baby is on 3 feeds a day also and is not wanting to go down to 2 yet he is not taking as much formula as he was I noticed but he is still on three a day. I find he has kinda cut himself from 50cc to around 35-40CC per feeding and then he refuses to eat anymore. so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing I'm sure eventually he will stop taking his formula completly. I weigh him on a digital kitchen scale that weighs in gr or pounds and I weigh him before breakfast after his morning poop. good luck I wouldn't worry about how to wean he will wean himself eventually its you job to supply the food so that its readily available and he will eventually cut himself down Its not a good Idea to force wean your baby they have troubls later on. Some birds take an extra long time don't worry.
11. Shanti definatly is having a grey't time riding around on your back. you can easily see she loves it.
12. i'm glad to hear that your baby is going to be ok.
13. I'm so very happy you decided to take your baby to a avian vet. karma to you . yjat little guy does't know how lucky he is to have such a wonderful mom. I guess there are allot of breeders out there that just don't give a dam about anything except how much money they can make. I would be furious also if something was wrong and my baby was sick
14. My baby Grey is a messy eater and allot of time gets quit a bit of formula on his/her feathers. I was wondering if its ok to use natural non sented baby wipes to clean him up with.
15. It won't be long now and you'll be looking for the shut off button. once they start its a new word or phrase daily. have fun with you baby.
16. Tyco is 6 yrs old I've had him for 1 1/2 years. She had 3 owners in her short 4 years I being her 4th and last. I also have a new baby around 8 weeks old

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/03 19:38
17. oh how sad poor poor baby Dan has given some good advice.
18. What a sad truth wonderfully written Something no bird lover should forget when they are loving there baby's that there is another bird out there thats not getting any love at all.
19. what a little darling Its pictures like that that make me think that birds are angels here on earth.
20. oh my I'm so sorry this story just brought tears to my eyes. I hope the doctor can do something for him please keep him nice and warm. I have a new baby cag thats only a couple weeks older than your baby's and I guess thats why this story hit me so hard I will pray that he will have a complete recovery I'm sorry I can't help more.
21. Your probubly right Judy thats just what I heard from a few people Tyco's a girl and when I got her she wanted to be with me so I kinda don't agree about that either but ya hear lots of stuff some true some not you kinda gotta pick and choose I guess. My amazon is also female and hates men so there ya go.
22. Thats wonderful news I'm so happy happy happy for you he's such a cutie. congrates on you new grandbaby also. I have 2 on the way and I already have 2
23. Oh I'm so happy for you I want a little boy also but I have a feeling that shady is going to turn out to be a little girl she's way to smart to be a little boyLOL that one was for Dan. I don't really mind if it turns out Shady is a girl as long as she is healthy she's going to be big also she already weigh 480 gr shes not as big as Tyco yet but I'm thinking that she may give Tyco a run for her money when it come to size. I don't know if its true or not but I heard that male Greys bond better to woman and female greys bond better to men. It doesn't matter to me because there aren't any men around my house anymore not since I kick hubby out a couple years ago. I guess you never know what the future will bring but I'm certinaly not looking for any kind of a relationship at the moment so girl or boy Shady has no choice except to bond to me.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/02 23:54
24. Don't you worry the bitting will get less once she gets to know you better greys take a little time to come around. welcome to the forum.
25. Shady can step up onto my hand and step down onto a portable stand. Now I think thats really really smart considering how old he is. You should see how excited he get when I tell him what a smart baby he is and such a good boy its so cute He fluffs all his feathers and streaches his neck moving his head side to side and back and forth at the same time he know what it means when I tell him he such a good baby and so smart.
