Adaya is 5 months old she was hatched on Feb 7 2009 she has a huge cage and she has 9 different perches and proububly 7or 8 toys in her cage and she loves it she climbs swings upside down chews on wood and has a very wonderful time in there. this is from the side of her cage so you can't see every thing her cage is 42'wide 36'deep and 72" tall so its huge but this will give you an Idea of what you can do to help make your parrot friend happy and healthy just click on the video.

What a great video Yhey really do seem to like each other don't they. my birds get along but I'd never put them in the same cage together not unless I wanted to come home to bald bleeding birds and a huge pile of feathers to clean up.
-
Oh yes I sure she is eyeing up that nice wood door saying to herself I wonder if this will be good for chewing maybe I could make mom some new tooth picks:laugh:

I can't help you Mother pluckers is the only site that makes them I bought mine in Canada because it was cheaper to buy in online here than to pay American prices.but that won't help you I still spent 170. dollars better than 200.for me Why don't you try making one out of coduit hoseing and pvc fittings and sisle rope or hulla hoops and sisle rope cover the hulla hoops with rope or vet wrap and secure all joins with rope or pvc fittings its not hard you can pick up hulla hoops for a 1.00 at the dollar store you will need 4 of them.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/07/09 22:57

Walmart carries it and most pet food places I've never been to where you live but Iknow that where I live every pet food place carries Kaytee exact products and the last time I was at walmart they also had it I also feed my Greys either Kaytee Or fiesta which is pretty much the same thing but with more stuff like dried fruit and nuts. The Walmart here in Canada sell 4lb bag for 9.00 so I'm sure they sell it for allot cheeper down there.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/07/09 22:45

My bird get darn right nasty if I don't answer the bedtime call they go in their cage and will say night night over and over and If I don't come and cover them up and give them their kiss and scritch good night they will scream night night as loud as they can. I did think about letting Jeepers be cage free because he was so cage bound for so long and he's such a sweetheart since I took his cage away and for the first night I let him sleep on the playstand the second night he slept on to of his cage but I locked the cage door so he couldn't get in. then after that I felt bad so I let him sleep inside but there is no toys and no food in there so in the morning he wants to come with me to his playstand to have breakfast and start his day he can see his cage from the playstand but never trys to go back to it he knows that he won't get the attention that he's been loving if he goes back there his cage is where it used to be before I moved him closer to the other bird. He's a very different bird now.I think that if you have a cage bound bird to take that cage away is the only way to show them there is a wonderful place other then staying locked up.

She's going to have so much fun tell her its just a toy and not to be such a scardy bird I tell Tyco all the time to be brave its not going to hurt her and she takes to things really quick usually within a day she's checking it out
-
It actually suprizes me just how independent Tyco is when I got her she was afraid of everything she is still a little catious but not afraid of anything. She is a brave girl I hope Adaya turns out just as brave as Tyco is If I tell Tyco that its ok and its a toy to play with and to be brave it won't hurt her. She takes my word for it and within a day she will go check it out I never force her. I just talk to her like she was a child. Kinda silly but it seems to work.

when they are babies they do poop alot more and you can potty train its not to hard it just take consistency when you have him out of his cage and you see him starting to do the potty dance wiggle tail step back have a news paper or paper towel when you see the signs say put him on the paper and say go poop and when he finishes give him tons of praise and get excited and pretty soon he will poop on demand every time you put him on the paper when you say go poop he will go. that way he will only go when you tell him to when he is out of his cage. If you get him a place to play like a play gym them even if he can fly he won't be chewing on thing he's not supposed to because he will be to busy playing with his toys on the playstand. when they do fly he will be able to turn on a dime and will fly in cirals he will be able to get from one room to the other I have 5 large birds and I've never had one that chewed up cables give him wood toys and foot toys and thing to shred and he will be a happy guy. They are allot of work as far as cleaning up their messes but the joy they bring is well worth it. If he poops when you cuddle have a towel for him to sit on you with but potty training may be a better option.

omg she so cute i just want to pick her up and squeeze her
