My vet carry's Harrisons but she also recomends Zupreem pellets she says Zupreem or Harrisons are the only 2 that have the quanity of vitimans and nutrition that birds need she told me not to switch from Zupreem baby formula to Exact she says Exact is no where near as nutritional as Zupreem and that goes for their pellets as well.

I would call city hall and ask them how to get in touch with they have all the answers about that sort of thing.

Dayo sure is one beautiful Grey he certainly likes Jake's cage maybe you should trade for a while he may learn that that smaller cage isn't so great after all. I love it when he asked to go outside he must like to be out there. you really do have a wonderful companion there aren't they just the best?

I agree I work allot with my older birds and it show in the way they interact with me. To me they are all baby's that need love and nurturing to become the best they can be. I don't know all of the details of the abuse that my rescues endured before I got them and it doesn't matter to me. I love them and treat them all the same with love and patients and quality one on one time on a daily basis. its amazing how an animal will respond to you when you feel genuine love for them they can sense and in time will return that love ten fold.

Ok I'll ask Who coming tomorrow Are you getting a new African Grey Buddy Spock and if so are you worried that he won't like you?
-
Yes When Tyco gurges for me it usually because she really wants to get my attention like when I'm playing with another bird so I try to just ignore her and continue what I'm doing
-
I would say that Tyco is allot like Emma fearless and jumping in with both feet and figure it out later She can be so cute sometimes you should see her preform when I have Jeepers on me. she stands on her cage and regugatates for me and dances then she will hang by her beak or one foot she screams look mom look mom she can be such a brat but I love her so much she likes for me to give her a good talking to about biting because she doesn't actually bite but she will pretend she's going too then I will say Tyco no bite mommy doesn't bite you so don't you bite mommy and then she puts her head down for scritches and is as good as gold she's a strange one thats for sure.

Raja is improving allot lately although he still has his moments when those hormones rage its not constantly like it was. he is getting 14 hours of dark time every night and I think that helps I also took him off fruits because I think the sugars they produce make it worse anyway I just wanted to say there is hope I can see the end coming now also My Amazon was extremely hormonal a few months ago and now she is totally back to her old self again what a joy she is when she's not constantly trying to find a place to build a nest. So there is hope that Bonkers will be his old self again soon.

Thats funny good one. Your baby is too too Cute I love Amazons My little girl is really big for a girl Yellow crown Amazon She weighs in at 435 Grams she is actually the exact same weight as Adaya and about the same size everywhere as well. I love it when they are feathering up and they have all thos little paintbrushes all over them how cute can they get. Your right it makes me very broody my mbs has really been kicking in lately I want a B&G really bad and I keep saying no no no to myself when I see pictures like that it gets really hard to say no no no:laugh:
-
I know how you feel I have screens on all my windows so I can open them and the birds can get the much needed natural light coming in the cat from across the street sits outside my Amazons window all day long watching and trying to figure out if he can get to the bird. I sic my dogs on that cat every time I see him they don't bite but they chase him away for awhile that cat always always comes back I hate it because it makes Fergie nervous.

I thought it was very funny I could just picture that and it made me laugh so hard they can be so silly some times.
-
my vet does it the same way and actually showed me how todo that I have held a few birds like that when needed like to trim nails or when they are hurt and I need to look them over to see how bad it is. I think every bird owner should now how to hold a bird in the vet hold its a important thing to know. I love that you taught your Cockatoo not to bite like this Its a great way to get their attention Quickly you can make them look right at you when you say no bite and really let them know you mean it.

congradulations on your new family menber i rescued a older grey a couple years ago. I took her 7 months to start really showing me that she trusted me and ever since then our relation ship has gotten better and better she is funny and sweet she doesn't like allot of cuddles but she does like to be kissed goodnite and have a good scritch from me before bed. She's very smart and asks for many things that she wants like if she want to play with her foot toy but has dropped them she will say need toy's pickup toys and if she needs her water changed she say fresh water. and many many other things. I really hope you enjoy your new companion as much as I have enjoyed mine.

To night me and my daughter where sitting outside with some of the neighbours and it was starting to get dark so we figured it was time to go in. My daughter went in just ahead of me and I gues she tripped over one of the kitchen chairs and spooked Jeepers well the front door was opened and thank goodness I was just comeing through the door at that moment because Jeepers was heading straight for the open door I saw him comeing and put up my arms waving the back and forth to block him from being able to get past me I kicked the door shut with my leg and fot while still trying to stop him from getting out thank goodness I got it closed and thank goodness I was comeing through at that moment of he would have been gone. I have never been so scared in my life my heart was just pounding It scared my so bad just the thought of losing one of my fids like that. It sure is scary I never ever want to have to go through anything like that again. When I put the birds to bed tonight they all got allot more pets and love given to them I even sang them a luluby I love them so much and I don't know how I would ever deal with losing them. I'm sure I would be a total basket case.

Well I think its a wonderful Idea and I would love to see some pictures of the baby tag your hand feeding I just finished hand feeding my baby congo I don't think I seen a baby Tag I mean a real little one that hasn't been weaned yet,I bet s/he is just as cute as cute can be

Adaya has a very bad habit of chicken scratching in her food dishes and she is constantly emptying her bowls and wasting an enormous amount of food. so I changed her food dishes to some that have covers over them so she can't do that but now she's terrified of the new dishes I don't know what todo now any suggestion I can't afford to go through a 5 lb bag of pellets and seed mix twice a week just to give it to the birds outside. its getting very expensive.

I take my birds in for a check up every year I usually just get a gram stain done and then every 2nd year get the works I don't feel that a full blood work up is necessary every year I feed a good diet and keep them nice and clean they are very healthy and happy if I suspect that something is wrong then I will do a work up on that specific bird but with a flock as large as mine it would cost a fortune to get them all done every year it costs 55.00 just to have my vet take a look at my birds never mind treatment. If I was breeding birds I would have blood work done every year because its necessary but as far as my pets are concerned I don't feel blood work is necessary every year
-
I'd say female also.
