that Carol is some saint I can't believe what she did for baby she emailed me and told me about losing her lower mandable and how all the doctors told her that baby would die. she also told me how she fed her with a tube and went all over the country to try and find a doctor that could build baby an artifical lower madable with no sucsess and then went on to tell me that baby learned to eat many foods like fresh fruits and vegetables and mashes she is so upset that after all the things she has overcome and then dies from something like this. she had baby for 15 years. She is a super wonderful woman and will rescue any kind of animal that needs her not just birds.

oh he just as cute as a button. he's really smart recall trained already and everything he sure likes his hpme and flock doesn't he must think when he fell out of his nest that he died and went to heaven. free food lots of love and toys to play with he's got it made you better not let him talk to the sparrows in the wild or you'll have sparrows wanting to come and live with you from everywhere they will be pretending that they have a broken wing or a sore foot right in your back yard:laugh:

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/07/13 05:42

You cannot leave that bird in a cage for two weeks birds are very social and need people around them constntly try covering the window with a sheet or take her else where in the house. she needs love affction she's still a baby do you spent the majority of your time in the room where she is if not she should be in a room where she can see someone all the time like in a corner of the family room or against the wall somewhere she can observe all the activity that is going on in the home. She does need toget to know you and how your home works and to do that she needs to be with you sitting with you and cuddleing when they are babies they need this so they don't feel ibsecure you are her owner its up to you to make her feel safe and secure .

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind word Its got to get better soon. I can't take much more of being sick. At the moment the only thing thats keeping me going are the pain meds. If I didn't have them I'd still be taking a hot bath every 2hours to help subside it. and my kid and birds would be on their own but as long as I take my meds I can at least get out of bed and do the things tha absolutly must be done. everything else can wait until I'm better.

Well that would be nice I would just love to see TG in flight I bet S/he is quick I know in the wild allot of larger birds are afraid of them because they are so quick the fly in peck and fly out and will do this constantly until the bird is dead. could you imagine 50 of the little boogers flying in pecking at you at the same time. Ouch

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/07/12 22:50 -
Even a very tiny dog will chase a cat and make it run away. I have a 4lb pappion that chases the cats out of my yard all the time. My neibour has about 10 of them and they are bird killers. all the wild birds come and eat at my feeders because its a safe place. they know the dog will not let a cat into the yard even for a second.

Oh Char you shouldn't do that to me it makes me all broody. just way way tooo cute:blink:  have you found out if its a girl or boy yet.

My Baby does this also drives me crazy because she does it in her seed and nut mix and will actually empty her bowl and send the seeds flying every direction she doing this because she knows it makes me crazy and that I'll let her out. Sometime she will do the same onthe bottom of her cage and thats when she is looking for food. I will usually just give her some fresh fruits and veggies when I see her down there scratching your lucky your bird only scratches on the floor I wish that's all mine did. She wastes so much food it not even funny. all for the sake of opening her cage and letting her out.

All of these things that you ask I have to say yes to except mabie the last it may take some time for her to come around to likeing you and bonding with you. Tyco was apparently a mans bird in fact the guy who sold her to me said he wouldn't sell her to me because I was a female. I had to get her out of the hell hole she was living in so I lied and said it was a gift for my husband. She liked me from the start but it took about 7 months for her to allow me to touch her feathers and give her scritches. if you have lots of patients and love anything is possible enjoy your new found friend if you do decide to take her. you never know if this woman has had her since she was a baby she may just bond toyou imediatly as a mate potetial.

Yes that is what todo its urgent that a vet check him out as you don't know what kind of cemicals are in the ink. it could be fatal if left untreated.
-
The size cage you have is mininaum requirement size for a cag with a maximum of 1in. bar spacing but if your cag is a little one i would get 3/4 in bar spacing

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY Baxter I hope you have a wonderful day with your Mama and many many more gotcha days to come.

Adaya is 5 months old and has just learned the beep beep of the microwave and the clucking noise that you make with your toungue on the roof of your mouth so I hear a constant beep beep beep cluck cluck cluck Its just a little annoying after the first 1000 times

You have to take the cage away completely for at least a couple weeks put a perch somewhere up high in a corner for a sleep perch and then if you want in a couple weeks you can give him back his cage for a sleep cage. I know this can be hard but you'll have to bird proof 1 room in your house with a play stand and lots todo for when you go out so I doesn't get into mischeif but if he is truly cage bound then he probubly won't venture to far from his playstand because of that. I have a macaw that was totaly cage bound and it works he really enjoys being out and away from his cage. he now uses his cage as a sleep cage but its just an empty cage with no toys.

Sometimes when they finish feeding they will continue to beg its not because they are hungry they are just feeling a little insecure and need to be cuddled and loved until they feel safe again.

I mentioned last week that I thought I had food poisoning. Well ever since then I have been in intence pain on the right side of my stomach so this morning I decide that I should go see a Doctor. He examined me and said that he's not possitive but he thinks I have apendicitis (Just Great) so I go to the hospital and the too blood and pee put me on Iv (I hate needles) then xrays and altra sounds and they still don't know if its appendisitis or not he did say a have a blatter infection. So after 7 hours of testing. he finally said he will send me home yeah. not over yet because he couldn't find my appendix on the altrasound and there wasn't a tech available I have to go for more testing on Monday if it gets wose before that I haveto got back he wants a cat scan and another altrasound done just to make sure its not my apendix. I hate being sick hate it hate it hate it.

I do the exact same thing with Tyco and sometimes the things she comes out with I have no idea where she got them from like this morning she said comeon Mom wakey wakey its time to get up. I have never said that to her and have no idea where it came from it was such a suprize I said where did you learn that. and she said it again and in my daughters voice. I guess she heard my daughter say it and picked it up from her. Its amazing what they can learn in a very short time. they hear somthing once and if appeals to them they will say it. Even Adaya one day I was making a clucking sound with my tongue on the roof of my mouth it appealed to her and she watched me and stared into my mouth to see how I was making the sound and within a day or two she could do it perfectly its was so funny the first time she showed me she could do it she got so excited just like a little kid that just learned to tie their shoes or something.
