I meant harder to clean the machine:) Usually when I get an idea to buy something, I google it and read reviews. Thats how I learned that the Air O Swiss was a good brand.

I dont know anything about a purifier and humidifier in one or air washers... I would think it would be harder to clean because the dust would get wet?? I know that air o swiss is supose to have top rated humidifiers so I would think anything from them would be good quality.

Babalu had his last wing clipping in April 2010. He still has not grown in all of his feathers. Just the other night a clipped feather fell out. So for him it has been a year.

I have read the same thing (on this forum too) that PVC can be harmful , but my grey does not have direct contact with the stand I made for his boing and atom. I did cover it in vet wrap though in case he climbs up on it. For the shower perch I did use CPVC, it is more expensive though, especially when you go bigger. I don't remember weather it was just being in contact with the PVC or if they chew on it, that supposedly made it harmful. But I guess its not true?? if others use it with no problems.

I have one, and I like it. The only thing I had issues with at first was the size of the mess catcher. The size it comes with did not really catch the poops, so I contacted the company and sent my catcher back in and they resized it to the large size (I had to pay the shipping and had to pay to get it resized). Even with the bigger catcher, depending on what side of the tree he is on, poop still misses it:( The company told me that it is not meant to catch everything, but I think it should at least catch poo that goes straight down, right? But Babalu enjoys it. If I had known how much it would have cost me all together in the end, I probably would have passed until I had spare money, which no one really does:) But maybe before you order, you can ask for a bigger mess catcher, and it wont cost as much...??

The second picture makes it look like overgrown to me too. The vet should be able to file it down, or a local bird store who knows what they are doing, sometimes have this service also. At least the store where I live does, but sometimes they dont like to do beaks that are to bad because they might crack or split, so I have heard.

My grey wont sit still in a small plastic kennel like that, he paces by the door and climbs up and down it. I thought about putting a hole on each side then slide a perch through and somehow secure it, but I never did. I switched to a small wire kennel/crate and attached the small twig like perches to the sides and one rope perch and he sits fine in the crate. He does not seem as stressed as he did in the plastic kennel.

Babalu love the bountiful harvest! I have had to stop giving him so much because he wouldn't touch his pellets if that was in the cage!

I too have heard that the news paper company's have to use safe ink now too. I switched back to using newspaper, the grate in my cage is well above the paper, so I dont have to worry about Babalu getting to the paper if for some reason he ever decided to go to the bottom of his cage.

I have my timer set for 4 hours a day during the week then its usually off on the weekends because Babalu is out allot. I was told 4 hours by the store I bought it from and Im pretty sure it said it on the box too..
