  1. I am faced with a decision on wether or not to rehome Timmy. Between work/travel and kids sports and such I can see Timmy not getting as mush attention as he deserves in the next few months. Life just gets so busy once the kids get a certain age, ya know...I would rather rehome Timmy now than to realize that he is pushed aside because of reasons he cannot help. He is an awesome bird and I hate to see him go to another home but I believe its in his best interest to do so. If anyone has any suggestions or knows someone that may be interested, please speak up. Thanks
  2. Last month I had to put Little Bit down (17 yr old Chiuaha).....that was a killer for me!
  3. Well, the past 2 weeks Pete has been hanging out on the floor of the cage most of the time. He has been eating and drinking but was weak, too weak to climb the past 2 days...today around lunchtime he traded his feathered wings for angel wings... I got him for my little boy and as much as I hate to see my son sad and Pete gone I am glad that my son got to go thru the whole "death" situation. Death is part of life and my boy got to bury Pete in a spot he picked out in the yard for him, we even made a little cross and stuck in the ground. Pete has had crop problems for 3 years and it was time to go....... RIP Pete 01/16/2013
  4. I love my garden, and last year Timmy was out there with me while I picked veggies and pulled weeds...not this year tho, he can FLY
  5. Timmy is indeed a cool dude! He is smarter than me sometimes!!!! Spoiled rotten little turd! haha
  6. All looks like a normal grey to me! I dont think plucking is possible at that young of an age Keep her happy and busy...happy Greys dont have time to pluck!!! haha
  7. I have a garden all year long and today I built a composter...cost = $0 (100% RECYCLED) Timmys gonna have some good fresh veggies this spring once I add the compost to the plants!
  8. You are right, Timmy is one GOOD LOOKING BASTARD!!!!!!!! hahahahaahahaaha lolololol! ! ! ! ! ! !
  9. Heres a few I shot with my new iPhone just now.... And of course...Timmy trying to steal a sip of my beer!! hahahah
  10. Every bird is different but Timmy never has really never eaten anything but the bag Grey food seed mix from petsmart. He gets a couple grapes a day and a peanut here and then as a treat. I give him fresh spinach, mustard greens, collards, broccoli, corn, tomato, okra, etc from my garden and he picks around with it and most ends up on the ground haha! I dont know how much he eats of the human food but he is very healthy according to the vet, and he is def a happy family pet so I dont worry about it. I was very nervous and worried about every detail of Timmys food at first, but now I know his ways and If there is a problem I will notice it and handle it accordingly.
  11. I will take and post some pictures tonight when I get my kids down and all.. Timmy is about 6 years old now
  12. Katana, soon Timmy could make it to Atl in no time! Its not too far from me as the crow (I mean Grey) flies hahaha!! I saved Timmy from a mess of a life, tucked away in a dark corner and the people had monkeys, dogs, and ferrets free run in their house...no wonder he was (and still is somewhat) scared of everything. He is GREAT with me but Ive grown to realize he isnt a cuddler but he is one happy guy!
  13. Judy is right...downy feathers. Timmy has always had that on his chest and he is 6yrs now! Keep Dylan happy and occupied and chances are he wont pluck!!
  14. When I got him, he had a chopped up job of a wing clip and some feathers were grown over nubs that wouldnt grow. During the last 2 molts I carefully removed the bad feathers (total of about 7 or 8) with surgical pliers I got from a vet buddy of mine. Ive done this with broken blood feathers before so I wasnt worried about it, he pulled alot too cause they must have bothered him. It has taken almost 3 years but Timmy has EVERY feather, fully grown on his wings! I started about a month ago to get him flying around because he has never flown (to the best of my knowledge) before I got him. He was great at crash landings! Now he flies excellent and lands where he wants to! I was amazed the first time I saw him fully feathered, fly past me in the sunroom...HE LOOKED SO FREAKING BIG! Looked like a hawk heading my way hahahah!! Anyway, just an update for those of you who know Timmy. Im going in the sunroom now to toss him around some and hook him up with a couple grapes hahaha
