  1. Nice pick, you are lucky he likes water!
  2. I usually just vacuum the screen when I normally vacuum which is once a week. But like mentioned before it will tell you when to do a good cleaning.
  3. I have one, I turn mine off. You will have to turn it off everytime you change the fan speed. Here is another thread with talk about them. I really like mine! http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?190716-RabbitAir-Air-Purifier-is-Here-and-Awesome!!
  4. Have you checked out the sticky in the lounge titled lighting? That is where I went to learn when I was trying to figure out what light to get. I ended up getting a featherbrite swag lamp.
  5. Same with Babalu! Whenever he does not like something going on or if we are ignoring him when we are in the same room as him, he makes this same beep sound and it hurts our ears!
  6. So sorry, did they say why this is happening?
  7. Sipping wine again, about to go to bed, hoping the snow wont stick! I want to go shopping tomorrow:)
  8. Mine too has pins around his neck, but to me, it seems like mine has been molting for months! Are those pictures taken from a phone? They came out pretty good, thanks for showing us.
  9. So sorry it didnt work out but I am also interested in what happened?
  10. No blood on paper so I put him to bed.
  11. Thanks, I know I like to see pictures of what people are talking about so I try to get as many good ones as I can. Babalu is getting use to me holding my phone up so tonight it didnt even bother him. I am going down to check the paper below him to make sure there is no blood drips. BRB.
  12. Sorry I dont have experience with babies, but I am hope he/she is ok.
  13. Well, we have another broken feather! I read somewhere, not sure where, that if a bird was growing out flight feathers (from being clipped) that the end ones have no protection so that might be why Babalu's keep breaking? I know what happend this time, I had him on my bed and I opened the bath door and it startled him and he jumped off, so on of his new feathers bent or something. Then he finally chewed it off like last time. I stayed calm this time though:) This feather was not ready to come out though as it had blood still in it, a small amount and there is no drippings on the paper below him so I think we are good. But he wanted the chew the end of the feather after I picked it up (he was leaning towards me after I picked it off the ground like he was saying "give that back") to look at it, it was like he was trying to clean the blood?
  14. Thanks for posting the new name, I too order for her and also get outstanding service every time!
  15. Good luck! The first carrier I used was a small plastic dog kennel. Babalu would just pace around in there and it was hard to get him in it. So I bought a small wire dog kennel and attached perches and cups to it. He went into that one just fine and did not pace at all. But if I would have known about the wire carrier made for birds, I would have gotten that one instead, as it comes with a perch and bowls already.
  16. I love your bird room. I wish my husband would let me have more bird things around or a bird room! He already thinks the bird's things are taking over. He looks very happy and he is a very lucky bird that you took him in!
  17. I thought that too, so thats when I tried to hold him in the cage to get him to go, then I left it there but didnt seem to make a differnce. He use to go in his cage, then we moved to Va, and I was home all day and had him out.
  18. I hung the bell of that globe toy I got him because he took the other bells off! And he goes crazy with it!!!!!! (pic not with new bell) He has not touched the big shedding ball yet....
  19. Still sounds very hopeful that you will get Mino back! With all these leads and all, I hope we hear good news soon!
  20. Well, Babalu still holds it, I thought it was due to me changing the newspaper over to white cage paper, but no... He still tries to hold it. Very few times I come home and he has gone in his cage. I just started a new job, 8 hours a day 2 or more hours of commuting, and so far, Mon and Tues, he has held it until I got home. I get him out at 0650 and he poops then he goes back in until I get home which has been around 1730-1800.. As soon as he hears me though he calls me and climbs all over and does the spreading of the winds like he wants to go somewhere. My husband will try and get him out if he gets home before me, but thats a no go. One thing I am starting to do is picking him up and then holding him over the bottom of his cage grate and telling him to poop there, sometimes he will but most of the time he bites his nails or me until I get him out of the cage. Once he is out, he will poo anywhere, not just the can. So I guess maybe he just doesnt want to mess his cage? He is a clean bird. And if I put him on the floor (laminate) he will go faster than if I hung his butt over the can... That saves me time in the morning:)
  21. Thanks for the recommendations, I just got my first of bird talk a few weeks ago. I ordered it due to a recommendation of this forum also for $8 from amazon, thanks!
