Wow, congrats on getting him back! I am very happy for you. Its weird how you think you have such a good bond with a bird and then some body they dont know or hardly know can come right over and they talk for them or step right up...
I use both as well. I made a mash with a bunch of fresh veggies and then froze it in sandwich baggies. And I also feed him fresh/cooked pieces when we have them for dinner.
I want SS, but I cant find it anywhere. Well I can order online but it is a little pricey. Hey, wait, Christmas is coming, hehehe. Anyway, I saw some aluminum cookie sheets and a pizza pan today while I was wasting time at Ross for a good price.
I just cant seem to cut straight or get the seams/hem/stitch or whatever its called straight either! I am sure no one is going to go look them over though:) Well I guess you cant see them cause they are on the inside... I thought it was cute and fun!
Just got done making some cage covers and posting them for everyone to see, then going to get some wine and watch tv with Babalu and the dogs and go to bed:)
When I first started the red palm oil, my grey didn't like it either. I put very little on a small piece of toast with peanut butter, that was the only way he could get the toast was with the oil on it so he began eating it. Then I would put a couple drops more. Then I started mixing it in with his veggies and heating it up. Then after reading how others serve it, I tried putting it in the fridge and cutting out a small chunk and he ate it! And it smells less not being heated up. Now he love eating it in solid form, well most of the time:)
Hmm, look what I just found on the FAQ part.
Can I mark my exotic animals, pets or livestock?
No. Although classified as non-hazardous, due to health and safety reasons SmartWater cannot be used for this purpose. Please be sure to read the health and safety instructions contained within your Application Guidelines.
The microchip needle is so big compared to a parrot. We use to microchip the shelter animals before they got adopted and it did hurt most of the animals at that moment, some even bled a bit. But then a few seconds after they were fine. Babalu is not banded or chipped.
The first pellet I switched Babalu to when I adopted him was Zupreem, I would buy a different flavor when the bag ran out. I noticed with Zupreem his poo was real smelly and not so firm. Then I switched to Harrisons and the poo was less stinky and firm! But now after reading and studying ingredients I have switched him to TOPs. But as a treat for when he is out on his play stand or while we are watching tv and not playing with him I give him the bountiful harvest blend and he loves the pellets that are in there!! http://www.mybirdsafestore.com/cart.cgi?group=537&child=1569 And the other stuff too. But again his main diet is now TOPs and fresh veggies and fruit and I am just now introducing the TOPs seed mix soaked and or sprouted.
