Here is what his beak use to look like.

Babalu's beak use to have a big edge on it, or like a little step going up towards his nose, very uneven... hard to explain, hope you get what Im saying, hehehe. Anyway, it looked similar with the white but not as much as Pepper's. When I took him to a bird store I asked the owner his opinion on if I needed to have it filed down, they said no and recomened the sandy perch. So I got the sandy corner perch and he has smoothed it all out himself over a few weeks.

When I was feeding Babalu Zupreem, his poops were more like piles and some smelled really bad, especially when I fed the fruit blend. Now he is on Harrisons and the poop is firm and doesn't splatter all over when it hits the bottom.

Yes it is a stainless steel cage. I got it off of craigslist about a year ago. It came with sees guards and a play top but he wont use the playtop, he just climbs down, and the seed guards take up to much room and they have sharp edges. Babalu seems to like it, although he does not ever go to the bottom of the cage. I have tried putting boxes down on the grate, with no luck. He sleeps on either the shelf or the sandy perch. (sandy perch was one of the best purchases ever, his beak use to be uneven when I got him, then I put the sandy perch in the cage and he fixed himself right up). Plus the cage is easy to clean and very good looking.

Hi everyone, my name is Kim and I have a 4yr CAG named Babalu that I adopted from a bird rescue 2 years ago. We are from San Diego Ca, but due to military, we now live in Fredericksburg Va.
