  1. That looks very complicated for me But I just might get up the courage to try and make it for Yoshi... It does look good! I've never cooked beans or lentils before though...
  2. Joy is... watching Yoshi cuddle up to my husband for scratches My husband didn't think he would even like Yoshi (he had never touched a bird before Yoshi lol) and now he is her favorite cuddle person <br><br>Post edited by: jessdecutie18, at: 2010/03/04 14:03
  3. For me, it doesn't get easier to leave them. I just had 3 weeks away from my baby, the longest time ever. My husband took care of her, and she was fine... but she sure was happy to see me again I like to give her a bit of her favorite foods before I leave... that way she has something to do as soon as I'm gone rather then dwelling on the fact that no one is there. She will call as I walk out the house and I yell back 'See you later!' When I come home she calls again loudly and I say 'Hey Yoshi!' or 'Comming!' and run to get her It gets me excited to come home and see her
  4. I'm so jealous I want Yoshi to talk, lol... she has been making the weirdest noise (like gremlin talk) but nothing understandable for a while now! That's awesome that Beau is doing so well
  5. Very true... you never know what can happen you can just try your best to be safe and keep your baby safe
  6. So After 3 weeks of training in Mississippi, I am back in Florida, back to my hubby and Yoshi Luckily I didn't miss anything too big with Yoshi... I sure missed her though! She is still herself... as weird and goofy as ever. She makes gremlin noises, sleeps on her food and water bowls instead of her various perches, and seems just as happy as always Her tail is a bit messy but that apparently is because she has taken to jumping off of her cage to run across the floor and climb up my husband. Her ragged tail feathers from hitting the floor a couple times bugs me, too bad those darn flight feathers are clipped! I keep telling myself that hey, they will grow back... I just have to wait... I brought back 2 new toys with me, both of which she checked out for about 5 minutes, then started playing with her other toys. She always does that... it's like new toys aren't worth her attention until they have sat in her cage for a week or two. Yet she isn't afraid of them as she pushes past them just fine... whatever makes her happy I'll never catch up here, lol, so many new posts... but I'm trying Hope everyone is well!
  7. Glad people are still enjoying this poem
  8. It's wonderful to hear such great news
  9. Good post! I keep looking at online stores but find some of those shipping prices so expensive!
  10. My Yoshi had several little red feathers when we got her... most have molted out but I few still remain mingled in with the feathers on her lower front... It's normal for them to have a couple and likely that they will lose them
  11. Alright thanks for the advise Yoshi messed with the feather periodically all day but at the moment it is still attached...
  12. Hey Yoshi has a blood feather on her tail real loose and out of place. She keeps reaching back and bending it, I think she is eventually going to pull it out... I'm supposed to leave that to her right? Thanks, just getting some advice
  13. How did the payment go for you? You have to call or email to place an order? I'm wondering about shipping prices...
  14. Aww I'm so happy for you guys! Thank goodness you found Pepper, there are so many stories like this without happy endings... I bet you will be super carefull now huh?
  15. I guess part of choosing a TAG was that my husband had never handled a bird before, unlike me, and was far less intimidated by the TAG We were still undecided, but then we found these little baby TAGs in a store 30 minutes away and fell in love... our Yoshi in particular seemed to take to both me and my husband... we knew after two long visits to that store that Yoshi was the one we wanted Also, yes, I also think it depends partially on exposure... Yoshi never freaks out to water because she is used to it, where as my Quaker parrot I used to have was terrified of the shower... the bathing in her water bowls has only started in the last month though I think she finally realized that she can get in them without drowning lol<br><br>Post edited by: jessdecutie18, at: 2010/02/03 04:17
  16. Wow, I'm glad those guys were rescued! Poor things... it is maddening when you know there are tons of breeders and craigslist birds needing loving homes... why can't we leave the wild and free ones alone?
  17. This is very interesting... I'm afraid I can't give any advice, but I wish you guys luck! Hopefully he leaves his foot alone after you try the aloe thing Dave suggested!
  18. Cute baby pics... and that's really cool that you can see your baby anytime on the streaming thing online
  19. Bet that was some hard work! Looks nice
  20. Really cool picture... I love how you can see all the coloring and the white on the wings
