That's a bit unfair! It's near impossible to video Harvey - he's a video virgin! I have tried this morning with my stealth tactics to video him (I'm lying on the settee reading a book with my mobile phone peeking out of the top whilst Harvey is on the top of the door, airing off after his shower)!! So, it's not long - but I think I just about managed it - you'll have to turn it up though - because I can't get near him with the camera!!!

Hi Billy and welcome to our family. You are indeed correct - we are a great community, with members from all four corners of the globe. There's always someone around 24/7 (time differences allowing) who will be here to help with any questions that you have, or give advice about anything you need. As you will read from the theads, greys do tend to choose one person to be their "special" friend. At 15 weeks though, this is very young for them to choose. I suggest that you socialise him with as many people as possible - you do then have more chance of him being multiple person friendly (although I failed, Harvey tolerates others, but is principally my bird)! They are great pictures of Vinnie, and I look forward to hearing more about you both ~ once again, welcome - I'm sure you'll enjoy it here x

Harvey is 100% all attention at the moment - you can't move without him - he's currently sitting here chewing his way through our parliamentary brochures for the up and coming elections (let him go, they all talk tripe)! I had to laugh though before when he was on his java tree in the conservatory, leaning into the vertical blinds to just "test" them and I shouted "HARVEY" and he turned to me and said "WHAT??!!". OMG! I have myself a petulant teenager at 17 months!!! It wasn't a one off either - he's said it twice since - absolutely and utterly in context!!!

I presume that you are keeping these to yourself over there in the states? I have my fingers crossed they can't fly and they can't swim! Look out for these over there, I don't want any bad reports x

I use reed diffusers - they were "okayed" by my AV. They don't have any toxic chemicals in them, and they don't fill the air with "particles". I used these both with my cockatiel, and no with Harvey - and there was certainly no ill effect. I agree with Talon - those Yankee candles are full of so many chemicals, I am not sure how we survive when burning them, let alone our fids with their very delicate respiratory system (though they sure do smell good)!!!

Oh that poor little baby! It breaks my heart to think that a poor bird can lose so many feathers - although it clearly isn't bothering him! Feathered or unfeathered - he's having his day with that puppy!
-
Harvey doesn't poop in his cage either - he never has! He prefers to hold it in and let it rip when I come home from work!!! I had this anxiety last year when I went on holiday - he certainly wouldn't be spending the same amount of time out of his cage as he does at home, so I was all chewed up that some "damage" would be done by him holding it in. Everyone here reassured me that if he had to "go" he certainly would - and as ever, they were right! Of course he didn't hold it in - he realised that he needed one, and indeed had one!

That's what this room is all about Sheila! Fantastic - I doubt anybody in the world understands what they are on about - but I do!!! Hilarious! Thanks for this - I've never, ever heard it - but now - I definitely want a chippy tea!!!
-
Great video Lyn - around the same time, not too many miles away, I was being awoken by seagulls (with the odd blackbird, magpie and sparrow being thrown in)!! The video is so tranquil - thank you so much for dragging yourself out of your bed so early so that you could share it with us x

I've seen these in the wild ~ they are fantastic birds and make such a noise at dusk! It was nice to sit there and listen to the parrots, mixed in with the grasshoppers, whilst sipping a Mojito! Oh, and it was also at the very time Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Louisiana - so it was quite a "wet" holiday!! Yet another great Amazon Jay ~ thanks very much xx

Go Joey Go!! It must be such an accomplishment for those who have birds who have been clipped to take that maiden voyage. I'm sure Joey will be ripping the place up, along with the other fiends, soon enough! Go on Joey - get yourself into oodles of trouble!!!

I love optical illusions - thought I'd share one of my favourites. I'm sure we could all find more to share: http://www.123opticalillusions.com/pages/albert-einstein-marilyn-monroe.php

I love how they aren't bothered by the boat at all - they sort of "pose" for the tourists! Great video Sheila - smashing looking birds
-
Oh to have to worry about such temperatures! What a dilemma! Definitely something we here in the UK won't have to worry about!!!
-
They are such magnificent creatures, and have such a tough life. I'm sure my hand might have been shaking a bit more than yours had I been that close! Thanks for sharing this Sheila - fantastic sight.
-
There they are - Kings of The "Jungle" - top of the food chain. It's probably been days and days since this pride ate - it's lovely to see them enjoying pulling out the spinal cord so much Thanks for this Sheila - it must have been awesome witnessing it first hand
-
You Canadian softie! One sniff of the barmaid's apron! Paul - our FART group is over in off topic - just for that little "me time" we deserve!!!
-
Ha Ha! Harvey's had the same bit on the top of his head where he flung a piece of pasta and it stuck! It's been there weeks now, but slowly fading! Natural hair dye! Parrot style!!!
-
Gutted!! Can we club together and buy you a new one! I love Emma and Sachi's videos!! I salute the camera that once was too! Great last video though Adina!
-
Ha Ha Ha!! I can just imagine excusing myself from a chat saying - "Excuse me, I just have to go and check what my PEE is doing". Brilliant! Well spotted Crossfit! At least the Psittacus Erithacus Timneh (PET) owners won't have as much trouble!!!

The only time Harvey and I are actually separated whilst I'm at home is when I go outside for any reason, and therefore I shut the kitchen door between him and me, before opening the back door into the garden. I started telling him "two minutes" and he knows not to try and fly after me, and true to my word I return. This seems to put him at a lot more ease when we we are separated. Otherwise, we are mostly always in the line of each other's eyes - yip - even going to the toilet isn't an "alone" moment! Try reassuring Simba that you aren't going to be long, will be back soon etc - Simba will soon realise that the moment of separation won't last forever

More birds??? Surely not!!!
-
Emmm! Scuse me! Who are Peter Lorre and Curly Moe!!! Come on Janet - spill - I want to know who they are and what they are!!!!
-
Awww, bless him - what does the future hold for Vree? Is this something he will just have to live with? Poor little baby - but hats off to you - he is lucky that he has such a caring, loving owner! Well done, and thanks for keeping us in mind - we do really like to hear how he is doing
