  1. Julie - these are so beautiful! You are so close to those deer! How on earth did you manage that one!!! Great shots of the fantastic British countryside ~ get yourself out and get some more x
  2. They are just more important now - they've been given more rooms! The whips will definitely be cracking away!
  3. Oh you are in love!!! It's even funnier when they break into a trot so you hear "pitter, patter, pitter patter" at a much quicker pace!
  4. Hi Cynthiav ~ welcome to our family. Glad you have stumbled across us and can't wait to find out all about you all. We love photos - so if you have any (especially in the glorious sunshine, just for me!) that would be great. Hope you like it here - any questions - ask away ~ or any of your experiences, please share.
  5. Sheila - I agree with Ryan - you would NEVER be able to tell he's had a problem. His feathers asides, obviously we can't see them under his wing, he looks much brighter and happier - bless him. You've done a super dooper job - and Charlie's a lucky, lucky boy x
  6. # 3 - write the journal (ooh, this would be scary) - and also , am I 21 in 2010 or 21 in 1995 like I was!!! You aimlessly wander along the road and wind up at a huge mansion, from inside you hear music. You meander inside the grounds and there, right in front of you is one of Hugh Heffner's famous parties, do you: # 1 - Turn on your heels and run. # 2 - Decide that you could teach those young bunnies a thing or two - after all, how old is Hugh, strip off and don a bunny outfit. # 3 - Hide behind a garden bush and watch what REALLY goes on in the big house.
  7. My grey can smear palm oil into your cream carpet a lot better than yours.
  8. Q: What is the biggest fish in the ocean? A: The Burj Khalifa, Dubai
  9. It's difficult - but they thrive on "grand gestures", noise and excitement - so any actions, motions or sounds that you make when Ursula does strike just encourages her more. You have to be very calm, take a deep breath and ask her in normal tones "why do you want to bite mommy for"? I have had one hell of a few months with Harvey and his mood swings and I have been close to tears with frustration, but have just had to walk away until situations calm. I know you've got Ursula into the harness and the problem was getting her out of it. At least she is accepting it that far and isn't too bothered by it. Bravery is an inbuilt thing - you either are, or you aren't - but you must speak to Ursula and "ask" her why she is biting you. You will see she is listening and gently tell her "no". When I first read this I thought it was an absolute load of tosh - but it really does work. Good luck - and don't just take those bites for the sake of it
  10. Check those worktops out! You must have polished those specially for the picture!! Just to tease you all further - here's a picture of Harvey enjoying his fresh from the African Jungle (well, my freezer) his palm nuts!
  11. Ha Ha! Very good - not me though - full head of my own, original colour with no flecks of the silver wire! Mind you - give me another six months with Harvey......! Anyway - I've changed my mind! I don't want to be Lyn anymore - check out our own Ms Admin - she's a jewel in the rough! Is that flattering??????!! And who are they calling rough!!!!!
  12. I make origami water bombs and fill them with bits and bobs and hang them in Harvey's cage - cheap, cheerful, destructible and most of all - using recyclable goods. If you don't know how to make them - here's a link to follow! http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-paper-water-balloons/ Good luck and Happy Origami!
  13. Your boys are just so lucky Sheila - I love the way Cracker is just quite happily sitting there posing for the shot! I hope there's many, many more days when they can enjoy the aviary - they are far and few between at the minute!!! Great shot!
  14. Oh that is such a shame - Plink has clearly advertised on here, but isn't following it up. What a shame that they might miss the opportunity - I see that they haven't supplied their email address. I can't believe Plink isn't following up their advert. My only thinking is that they grey has already been sold - but I still keep my fingers crossed for you x
  15. What I have found is that you have to be 100% confident that you can carry out the functions in order to get the harness on/off in one fell swoop. Any pausing or nervousness in the installation or unharnessing does bring unmitigated disaster. Early on I had to endure proper, proper bites from a scared Harvey when he caught his foot in his. You just have to stay calm, just like you would with your child. Putting a harness on is a lot harder in older birds, but at two I don't think it is too old. Keep trying for a bit longer ~ like you say - it's fabulous!
  16. Ha Ha Ha! I don't know what you mean I think fresh strawberries stink, never mind rotten ones!! They don't smell like "strawberry fragranced" anything! They are awful!! Great post Ryan - and oh what a modern man you are - cleaning tips, from a bloke, whatever next!!!
  17. You need to urge these people NOT to try and catch her. She is obviously still alive and well, but obviously very scared. She is never, ever in a million years going to come to them. You need them to leave her and contact you as you will probably be the only person she comes to. She is out there - she needs you and she obviously isn't far. Good luck, fingers crossed - if you can get to her I am sure there will be a very happy ending.
  18. Oh they are fab!! I love them! What little cuties they are! Thanks for sharing them x
  19. Ha Ha Ha!!! What a little tinker Alfie is! You'll need to get one of those fly covers that you have for your food when you are on your holiday and just sneak your food from beneath! They are too blinking clever for their own good!!!
  20. Janet you are getting far too good with these character things!!! I'll manage to do them one day!!!
  21. Without looking describe ANY of the bikes and then describe me ANY OF THE OUTFITS the babes are wearing - my money lies with the babes..........!
  22. Ha Ha! Harvey's three months younger than mine! I'm only 35 and yell at the kids in the street all the time - no wonder they don't visit on Halloween!!! What a great thing you have done Charles in taking Syd in - I've PMd you on how to start a thread in the Welcome Room x
  23. The seed skirts are great.......at making permanent dents in your door frames when you move the cage from room to room!! They're also great for catching your shins on, banging your head on when cleaning the cage and also creating that "BANG" when you least expect it when your grey chews through the rope holding the coconut in place! As you can tell, I kept mine on!! It does save a minority of seed/pellet/veggies from falling to the floor - but the challenge just isn't there and they end up flinging them further anyway! Can't wait to meet another JayD - and hope you're just as lovely as the first
  24. I've never heard of Vampire Diaries - but checked out their website - Woo Hoo! Hottie boys! I might just watch it with the volume switched down!!!!
