  1. Once you have your grey home and have a chance to observed his personality, the naming will be a piece of cake. It is so hard to wait!!
  2. I have two greys, my TAG I brought home fully weaned. My CAG was eating all kinds of food but still was eating evening formula. He was 5 months old. I spoon fed my CAG for two evenings and my TAG would finish up the remainder of the formula. My TAG was then 2 years old. After two evenings my CAG refused any formula. I live alone and my greys are bonded to me. I realize I did not formula feed them very much, not that's all I have. My TAG, Ana Grey, is almost 5 years old and my CAG, Sterling Gris (Fr. Grey) was 2 years old in March.
  3. Thank you for the update on Whisper. It is a shame that her wing was not repaired in time to correct it but at least now she is home with you and her life can be turned around. Looking forward to hearing more about her has she relaxes and know that she is safe at last.
  4. My three love to talk when I am on the telephone. Never fails, parrot chatter when the phone rings.
  5. I have my three parrots' feathers all together on my desk. They are quite lovely with grays, reds and zon multi-colors.
  6. Yes, I remember you and Whisper. I am so excited for you both and have sent out special prayers for Whisper's injury. Can't wait to hear how Whisper's homecoming goes!
  7. I know you are very worried that Greycie will adventure out again and believe me I have gone through the clip/no clip scenario. I have my parrots all microchipped in hopes that I can get them back if they are taken to a veterinarian. A person can be prosecuted if they have a micro-chipped pet and do not return same to its rightful owner. I also have a screen on my front door that is always locked. Anyone comes to see me, even if they have a key must be let in. I am that paranoid about my birdies adventuring out. I never open my garage outer door unless my parrots are in their cages or I have closed the garage door into the house. All my windows are screened. My back door has regular curtains on it so that I can open one side and keep the open side curtained. I also have mesh netting outside. Yes, I am very paranoid. The thought of losing one of my babies is huge. I also belong to the Homeagain team so I am immediately e-mailed of any lost pets in my area so that I can keep and eye open/help look for the lost pet. Because my birds are registered with them I can contact Homeagain and they will e-mail everyone in the area to help me find my lost pet. I do also spend time calling my parrots from another room and when they come to me giving them treats in hopes that if they are outside they will come to me for a treat no matter how frightened and scared they are. Clipped or unclipped is a personal choice, I have done all I can think of to keep my flighted friends safe in our home. I am so delighted that Greycie is now home. God is good.
  8. What a wonderful post. I am delighted that Greycie is home safe. Kudos to you and your wife for not giving up.
  9. When one of my greys looses a flight feather I know I will be finding another one just like it if I look. They have to stay balanced for good flying so if one is lost on one side there is normal a loss shortly on the other side for good flying balance. We certainly don't want them flying about in circles!!
  10. No, my parrots all three love baths. They are water babies and love to be soaked to the skin. They will open their feathers and spread their wings so they can get totally soaked. Sterling Gris is just very big and very clumsy. He is like a bull in a china shop always has been from the day I brought him home.
  11. Thanks for the info! I am pretty computer illiterate. Thank God for Grandsons!
  12. Luv the picture of Slater and his beautiful tail feathers. My Sterling Gris' red feathers have always been a wreck from the day I brought him home to almost 2 years later. I am envious!
  13. Great videos of Chilli Pepper and flock. Thanks for sharing everyone with us.
  14. Sterling Gris is the Houdini in my flock. I still don't know how he gets out of his cage. He must close it back up when he is out. Very cute video of Peanut!
  15. My CAG's phrase is "no trouble, you be good."
  16. "....She moves to the back of the cage." I understand that some greys are cage protective so why not just let her come out of her cage on her own. I just open the door on my parrots' cage and they come out without a problem.
  17. If you feel like working, sit down and wait........ The feeling does go away.
  18. Looks like a statue. Very handsome!
  19. Relationships are like birds, if you hold tightly they die. If you hold loosely they fly. But if you hold with care, they remain with you forever.
  20. Great picture. What a shy cutie you have there!
  21. Very excited for you. Looking forward to hearing how the trip home goes and seeing some pictures of Little Miss Avah in her new and forever home!
  22. Well hello Phoenix. It's always a relief when vet checks come out that all is well on birdie's body. Love your dark eyes!
  23. My Sterling Gris is a big guy weighs in at 505g last time I checked. He was 5 months old when I brought him home still eating an evening spoon fed formula although he also ate regular foods (nuts, pellets, etc.) He lasted about 2 evening at my house and then just refused another bite. He still eats like a horse and he was 2 in March. Being patient is the hardest part but greys are so worth the effort.
  24. I cant wait to hear how the reunion goes. I believe your greys will remember you and am very curious to hear they react. Yes, I am very excited for you. Duke and Duchess great names. I have a male CAG (Sterling Gris[Grey]) and a female TAG (Ana Grey) that do tolerate each other. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
  25. I like Phoenix so I hope you get to name your cute grey! Looking forward to seeing some pics when the time is right!
