What a great start with your new grey. Had to smile was I remember my bringing my first grey home almost 5 years ago. Waiting patiently to see some pictures.

Oh a little bit country, I love the country and miss it terribly. I am not a city girl. Looking forward to seeing the baby/family hawk pictures. Great update on Dayo's reactions.

Have you tried different tones and volume to see if Storm still shakes his head.

Because I live alone I have a tv just about in all the rooms of my home and they are on all the time except when I sleep. My parrots ignore the tvs. They do not repeat words they hear on tv or anything. Can the tv be on without sound to see if it is the sound Dorian dislikes. If it isn't the speakers, then perhaps it is the "people" your grey sees on the tv and Dorian believes they are intruding into "his" time with you.

Great info in Katana's post. I have a small TAG who is almost 5, she is very aggressive toward other parrots. I call her my stalker. She is the boss although my CAG outweighs her by 200 grams. Introducing the two parrots to each other in your home while your friend is there is a great idea. It will let you know if they will tolerate each other's company. Talking about the fact that the zon is visiting and then the zon leaving with his/her owner will help your grey understand what visiting is. A couple or three visits and then the zon leaving let's your grey understand what visiting means. Zons are great parrots, you may find you can't live without one so beware, they are addictive! LOL!

First thing I say is "What"? I think I finally figured out what this question asks. My answer is A. My zon loves to be in the same room as me. Loves to preen my hair, but I am not to touch him.

I have a timneh and have a small aviator harness for her. The small is for birds that weigh between 190-425 grams which Ana Grey does. As for protection against hawks, etc., you do need to keep your eyes open and be alert as hawks, etc. have been know to scoop down and nab birds off of an owner's shoulder or close proximity.

Aloe Vera juice is a great thing to use on our greys for their flaky skin. Check out the Health Room for information on this great dry skin help.

When one of parrots' screaming starts to irritate me, I just start to sing. It stops the screaming and I have my parrot's attention. Sterling can now sing part of Happy Birthday. Perhaps a little singing will help.

My CAG, Sterling Gris dunks his food also. Sterling does like water a lot so I guess he just wants more moisture for certain foods.

I have a jolly ball for my parrots and it sit in the garage. No one likes it, perhaps I will give it another try.

If I were you Dan, I would be just hoping that Dayo let's you go with him and Kim. Once he learns to mow the lawn mark my words, you will be history! LOL!
