I have three collapsible cages just like Judy's. I purchased the larger ones as I use them for overnight cages when I visit my daughter. My TAG, Ana Grey is a small bodied bird and she does fine in her cage. If I ever need to replace one of these cages, I would get the exact cage, they are great!
My guys don't scream very often but if one of them does do any loud shrieking for more time than I like, I tell him to "knock if off" and just ramble on for a little. If that does not work I sing. Luckily my parrots like to listen to me more than themselves. If that doesn't work, then turn on the radio/stereo and cover the noise up. Darkening the room is also something that might work.
I have given a parrot away for the love of the bird. I re-homed an older ekkie who my TAG hated. Ana Grey would fly at him and chase Sully relentlessly. I give him away for his good and happiness. I gave away his cage and toys and everything that was his at no charge. For the love of the parrot. Sully is very happy and goes all over the place with his owners. If you remember, Sully came over once and climbed up my shoulder to give me a kiss on my cheek and then climbed back to his owner. I believe he was thanking me for giving him a loving home. I have a re-homed zon now that prefers men to woman. When I find the right man, I will give Louie away for the love of the parrot. I am open to re-homing others if I find a needy parrot. Perhaps being a farmer's daughter and raising animals for food makes it easier for me to remember that they are animals and can be replaced.
My zon has a healthy appetite also. I would not worry about over feeding him. He will eat only what he needs. Just make sure they are healthy foods. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
It worked. It's a great video of Gilbert. Gilbert looks very sure of himself. I have enjoyed following Gilbert as he has found his way to happiness and I am delighted to hear his strong voice and relaxed self. Good job!!
Poor little guy. Oatmeal would be a good food to present to your CAG. Oatmeal is moist so it will have the fluids that you CAG would need. Although I do not believe he will really want to eat. Please let us know what the vet has to say.
I have had all three of my parrots micro-chipped. My TAG, Ana Grey, weighs in at about 300 grams. There were no after effects or effects of any sort. They did not care and have had no problems. Ana Grey is now 5 years old and has had her chip for over 3 1/2 years.
I use to use sleep huts for my parrots when they were younger.

Thanks everyone. Ana Grey had her own special alone time with me and extra almonds, pecans and pistachios just for her. Spoiled the little lady! Yes sir!
Today is Ana Grey's 5th Hatchday anniversary. She is as sassy as ever and believes she is equal to a human. I love her too pieces. Today is cornbread cake and fresh vegetables for everyone.
Today Ana Grey can do anything she wants!!
HAPPY HATCHDAY ANA GREY. MAY WE HAVE MANY MORE TOGETHER!
My parrots, don't touch their water very much except to soft food or take a bath. I believe they get their moisture more from their vegetables and such.
