My CAG, Sterling Gris, is 2 and can repeat a word and phrase instantly. Now my TAG, Ana Grey is 5 and she only more or less says "I want a nut" or "You want a nut" that's it. She can talk just decided not to because Sterling Gris just won't shut up. Go figure! Now my neighbors male ekkie (at least 10 years) in the last two years has decided to talk. So never say never.
I believe our greys/parrots are intuitive and know instinctively how we are feeling. I find my three parrots always watching and I believe they know what is going on. Your grey has great compassion and wants to help alleviate any suffering/bad feelings that she senses.
I have been retired since getting my three parrots. I do not keep them out all the time. Some days I leave them in their cages until evening and then let them out until bed time. They need time alone and so do I. As long as you get them use to a routine all will be fine. It is the quality of time that counts.
Hi Rajah, just calm down and treat her (what is her name?) as you always have. She remembers you, believe me and she is unsure if you will "abandon" her again. Talk to her and treat her like you always have. I believe she will calm down. So relax and enjoy your sweet grey and the life you will have once she is certain you will not desert her again.
If I am drinking juice, and one of the gang asks for a sip, they get one. Ana Grey, Tag, loves to steal a little orange juice. Not much but a drink or two.
Oh thanks for reminding me Nancy. As for screaming, none of my three really scream. Ana Grey never; Sterling Gris, loves to talk, and Louie, the zon will let out a belt once in a while just to clear his pipes, I believe. Louie does not scream for long periods of times. Just a loud one or two.
