  1. I have mesh screens over my office door to keep my parrots from getting in and eating my keyboards.
  2. Ah yes, my throat closes up and I cough if I get hot peppers close to my mouth so sometimes I forget that my hands have touched hot peppers and up to my face they go and I start coughing. Sterling Gris as learned to cough heavily. Luckily the other two parrots ignore my choking.
  3. Beautiful update! Thanks for sharing Inara with us. She is lucky to have found you and your family!
  4. Oh so sorry to hear about the bad language. But Buffet is now in a better home so relax, ignore and pray the words will go now that Buffet has a more friendly and happy home to live in. Would love to see some pictures (hint, hint)
  5. such a cute interaction between you and Escher. Just love it!
  6. My CAG was 5 months old before he stopped wanting formula. As already said, let you grey let you know when the time to stop the formula comes. When Sterling Gris stopped his formula he just refused to eat it and would fly off.
  7. My what prefect timing. I would just jump at the chance to get the two greys. As Dave said, they are still babies.
  8. Great looking pictures of Echo. What a cutie!
  9. Great pictures. Love the dark outlining on the baby tail feathers.
  10. Oh so sorry, I know how you feel. I re-homed a Blue Front Amazon that I got from a wife whose husband was the zon's owner. Louie was 1 1/2 years old when I got him, he is now 5. I am the only provider/caregiver in my home and Louie still bites me and will not let me touch him. He can touch me but I am not to touch him. We have an understanding and Louie will go in and out of his cage as I ask but I can not touch him. He likes guys so when I can no longer care for him, my daughter will see that he is given to a male. Who knows why parrots do what they do. We can only love them on their terms.
  11. My parrots prefer wood. If it is plastic my zon destroys it in a flash.
  12. Ah yes, once a parront learns the terms "in grey time" and "patience" life is so much easier for fid and parront. Very nice update. Looking forward to hearing more.
  13. A rusty cage is a no-no. There are oodles of cages out there just keep looking.
  14. What an artist, great job. If he carves a weeping willow tree let me know!
  15. Welcome Deltadawn. Would love to see some picture of your flock. Am looking forward to learning more about you all.
  16. You are right some will disagree. Yes that is why it is so great being part of a forum, there are different opinions. And each person needs to decide what works for them. Food basically goes right through birds so I keep pellets in my parrots cages at all times. I would not want to think about what would happen if they ran out of food and I was unavailable to replenish it. I do feed my parrots/canary meals in the AM and in the evening. They look forward to the warm morning breakfast and their evening meal is full of nuts and parts of my evening meal that they can safely eat and some fresh veggies. I want my birds to come to me because they enjoy my companionship not just because I'm their meal ticket and they are hungry.
  17. I believe our greys look at us and say, "Some day they will understand. Perhaps even be able to fly.... snicker."
  18. Glad you have someone to care for your grey. Get better soon. We are here for you!
  19. Sully is a cutie and is really working at talking. So very sweet and cute. Enjoy!
  20. Tony looks great. A little ruffled but as he settles in all will be well. Just follow Tony's lead, relax and let him set the pace for your relationship. Talk to him and let him know what is going on. Enjoy!
  21. Oh I love the beautiful eyes of the BF zons. Cricket certainly is a sweetheart, much more calm than my rambunctious Louie. Now you have to share more pictures and videos of Cricket, please! On another note, I ran through the other videos/pictures and love the one of the Bear.
  22. Dannybrah92, you will need to post some pictures if you want any helpful answers. When you call your parrot a COG, I am guessing you mean Congo African Grey (CAG). More information please.
  23. Oh so sorry you felt you needed to clip your grey. The lessons we learn the hard way. No one can kick you in the pants the way you are doing it on your own. Hopefully your grey will forgive you in time. My Tag was clipped when I got her, she would try and try to fly. You are right it is a sad sight. I hope your surgery goes well and you relax and forgive yourself.
  24. I listened to the sound again; does sound like a phony growl, like he is copying you growling.
