  1. I have a parrot size travel case that I use to take my parrots to the vet. Perhaps you could use something like it for going into stores and restaurants, etc. Much less noticeable. http://www.amazon.com/Bird-Traveler-Case-Floral-Blue/dp/B000HI2KVW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1369677750&sr=1-1&keywords=travel+cases+for+birds Also if you get some fast food, there are parks all over with picnic tables, restrooms and all. Fresh air and sunlight and yummy food. As one of 7 kids in a family, I commend you for taking the trip. My Dad would make us count off before he left a place to return home so he wouldn't lose one or two. Great memories.
  2. Penny, you have to remember that Louie is a re-home who was keep outside by his human family after the hubby, Louie's parront, became ill. Louie is very cautious. I can't touch him, but he is very observant and tries very hard to please. He loves to preen my hair. If I find a female zon, I think I would re-home her without hesitation so that Louie can see what life for a zon should be. I just love him to pieces.
  3. Hi Janelle, congrats on your grey. Would love to see some pictures.
  4. My first parrot is a TAG and she was socialized excellently by her breeder. Ana Grey is very self-assured and fearless. She chooses who she likes and that's about everyone. I also have a CAG and he is a little more selective about who he likes. If he sees new people even small children he screams like a banshee. It takes awhile for Sterling Gris to trust others and get over his nervousness. Of my two greys, yes I would say that my TAG is more social and less nervous around people. As for choosing between a TAG and CAG, they live a very long time so I would make sure you get the one you want.
  5. Great pictures. My favorites: Shelby in flight, and the one of biru' and Shelby on your hand. Very cute. The one of Shelby on her back is a keeper. I remember when my Ana Grey would do that for me.
  6. Too cute. At least you haven't lost your sense of humor AW64.
  7. Welcome to the Grey family Mary. Looking forward to learning more about Shelby. When you get a chance we would love to see a picture or two.
  8. My TAG and ZON are pretty good at being angels. Now my CAG, he just stops what he is doing and moves away. When he thinks I have forgotten his discretion, he goes back and just starts again. Tenacious little booger for sure.
  9. That is just too cute. Piper is certainly a very happy little sweetie. You need to post more often. Piper is quite entertaining.
  10. Nope, if mine drop it they lose it. I do the picking up after they are in bed for the night.
  11. Happy Hatchday Josie! Have a wonderful day with lots of goodies!
  12. If Louie wants a bath, he just waits to hear the microwave going in the AM to know that breaky is on the way. He then dips himself in his water bowl knowing that fresh water for the day is on its way. Also if they see the water sprayer, Louie will fly to his cage top and open his wings for big sprays. I no longer have a large goldfish bowl as my parrots think its their own watering hole or snack shop. All three of my gang are water babies, especially the zon.
  13. .....I was posting like a mad man on here for advice while holding Dayo down screaming his bloody head off while I washed and wiped the ink off of his beak and talons and tried my damnedest to keep the powerful beak pulled open to get it off the tongue..... And you wonder why Dayo nips and bites at you every chance he gets?????? LOL
  14. Hi Toran, I always respect anyone who can speak and write more than one language. Congrats on your new grey, looking forward to hearing more about him/her. We have an Other Birds Room if you would like to show us your sun conure, Echo. Welcome to the Grey family!
  15. Nancy, it is a blemish concealer as Dave 007 already said. As for Dan, sorry Nancy, but he does rock. Please be respectful. I do not wish to watch anymore swing doors kick anyone in the ass this week.
  16. Hi Jane, Janet here. Would love to see some pictures of Norman, Erik and Cookie. We have an Other Birds Room for the two non-greys. We love pictures! Welcome to the Grey family!
  17. Nice intro Gus! Welcome to you, Echo and Nesta.
  18. Welcome to you and Sydney. I hope you and your vet can get Sydney on a healthy path. Prayers coming Sydney's way.
  19. I remember a tornado we had here in SW Washington when my kids were still in grade school. Can be very scary. Glad all is well in your hometown Talon.
  20. Hi Mizuki. Great introduction. I joined Greyforums a few months before I got my first grey and learned oodles. So welcome to the Grey family!
  21. Watch out everyone, we don't want to spoil her!!! LOL!
  22. I have neighbors who are familiar with my little flock and family members who will watch them in a pinch. If you don't have family and friends to watch them, perhaps your pets' veterinarian could watch your companion(s) or have an idea of who is available.
  23. Hi GC180. What a great little flock you have! Looking forward to hearing more.
  24. [quote Where is mine? Welcome back Jules Ho ho Judy, I know what great friends you and Julie are and who is really responsible for her popping in so Thank You Judy! (smile)
  25. Perhaps it is the flat screen tv that is giving your grey pause. I would just act normal and interactive with your grey as usual. I always tell my gang what I am doing and what is going on. So relax and see what happens.
