  1. This is wonderful news for Yoshi and I'm glad that your mind will be at peace with this change for Yoshi. It's nice to know that we will still have your sweet grey in our Grey family!!!! My best wishes for your overseas tour. I have great admiration for our service families. Godspeed for your safe return, Jess.
  2. Oh my that is a great picture of your son and Timmy!!! Very handsome indeed!!!!
  3. If you purchased your grey from a reputable pet store/breeder you should have a "hatch certificate" of sorts. My Ana Grey's (TAG) eyes started changing earlier "than on the chart" I really didn't worry about it as every bird is different. In fact that is a "baby" picture (around 5 months old) in my avatar. I personally picked her up at the breeders at 4 months old and met all her siblings. She looks very different now.
  4. Delighted that Rambo's problem is an easy fix. Relief actually is the proper word!!!!!! Hooray!!!
  5. Very funny Sanggay!!!! I truly believed you had added to your flock!!!! LOL!!! By the way, what is his name??????
  6. I very seldom see my birds drinking water from their water bowls. They get most of their water from their fruits. They have apple slices everyday. They all insist and Ana Grey specifically asks every day. Also Ana Grey steals a nip of my orange juice, pomegranate, etc. drinks.
  7. Very cute and laughable story!!!! So glad Timmy finally got use to you again!!!
  8. Oh poor Rocky what a filthy looking cage!!!!! I'm so happy you give Rocky a new and clean forever home!!! I look forward to hearing some great things about this very handsome and now lucky young grey!!!!!
  9. There are a couple of other posts related to this topic. Just take a looksey in the nursery room.
  10. That's a fun picture of Nilah and her spoon. What a clever little lady!!!! You're own Miss Manners. Now where is that Louie, he could take a lesson or two!!!!! Mr. Piggy!!!
  11. Thanks everyone. And yes I believe another little lady is on the way to join this family as I have had super luck with Ana Grey. Isabella will be a prefect fit!!!!!!
  12. I have a bird room. Only for my parrot companions. I have no loose electrical cords or accessible plug ins available to them. There are lots of hanging wooden toys and foraging devices around the room. Boings and perches hanging for the ceiling. So far, knock on wood, none of my parrots are woodwork chewers and so far have been happy to destroy only wooden toys. I feel comfortable leaving my fids loose all day long in their room as I am retired. If your grey is always out and you have a place that is "bird accident proof" then I see nothing wrong with him being out, as the whole room is actually his cage as my bird room is for my parrots.
  13. I sing and make music sounds for my grey. She doesn't sing but she can make the sounds of the music beat. She practices in the AM and is getting really close to the tones.
  14. Great bathing picture of Greyson. My Ana Grey is a real water baby also!!!!
  15. Very nice looking picture of your flock!!!! Love that tree perch!!
  16. Hey, everyone knows I love my frozen margaritas, right (I keep that bucket in the freezer, heh, heh) I can only have a nip after 7:00pm each night (parrot nite, nite time) as Ana Grey is such a little lush, there'd be none for me!!!!!!
  17. I also give my fids freeze-dried vegetables and fruits and they seem to enjoy them. This is not a substitute for their fresh veggies it is just convenient and they don't become "unfresh" when they sit out. http://www.harmonyhousefoods.com/Freeze-Dried-Veggies_c_74.html http://www.northbaytrading.com/dried-vegetables/freeze-dried-vegetables
  18. That's the one and I am really stoked about it as the lady, Eva, is the greatest!! I understand the greys live year round in an outdoor aviary. Too cool!!! It's nice to hear great things about the people you have picked to raise your baby!!!!
  19. Great video of Biscotti!!! P is for Parrot, love it!!!
  20. You are so right Judy, babies are so adorable!!!!! For $20 for the sexing you get a choice of male or female, well worth it to me!!!!
  21. I go in my birds' cages all the time. I want them to be use to me in their cages just in case an emergency comes up and I need to get in that cage. I have cages with where the whole front opens so I have total access all the time. We are a family and they are in my space all the time, so quid pro quo so to speak. I also don't believe in supporting the dominance theory, but that's just my opinion.
  22. Kim, try a tight fist so that Axel has nothing to latch/bite onto. Perhaps that will much easier on both of you. Soothing voice tones, gentle touch.
  23. Welcome Sid, you are certainly a cutie!!!! I have a new baby going soon, Isabella, perhaps we can all learn together!!!!
  24. I have both re-homed older birds and newly weaned so to me both are good ways to go. It all depends on what a person is more comfortable doing and the time and love they have to share. I'm glad you were able to find homes for both little birdies. Pictures please!!!! I look forward to meeting your brother-in-law at the Grey Forums!!!
