I move my three parrots cages around all the time. Just go about the day normally and Tia will be fine. Your parrot reads your body language so relax and so will your grey.

Welcome Shanlung, I agree with you and your words of wisdom. My birdies are all flighted and it is my worst fear that they will decide to take a journey around the neighborhood. They would be so delighted to be outside flying around they wouldn't even think about me until they landed somewhere and wanted their supper. "Where is mommy and my dinner and why doesn't she come get me, I'm so cold and hungry!" But my babies remain flighted because the joy of watching them fly and the apparent delight in their happy freedom is breathtaking. Nothing more beautiful than the sound of their flapping wings as they come looking for me. I do have my three microchipped so they can be returned to me if necessary. And it is my understanding that here in the States it is a crime if a micro-chipped animal is not returned and any vet will read an animal for a microchip free of charge.

I love my sunnyside up eggs and just refuse to eliminate them from my diet!!! I have an Orgreenic frying pan that has a ceramic instead of teflon coating. This works great for my eggs and is nonstick just like teflon without the toxic fumes.

I have a homemade stand that I have covered with sisal rope. It works for my three.

I have a bird room and a house that my three parrots fly through all day long. I am retired so we spent oodles of time together. In the birdroom they are safe because they have lots of perches and toys and no exposed wiring or cables, etc. I do leave they alone in their bird room. For some reason they do not fight in their "nest." The rest of the house they will get into battles in. I have to be very careful about my keyboards and any cereal or other foods that I leave out on the counter, kitchen table, refrigerator top, etc. etc. They are very curious and always hungry birdies. I do have a cargo net, a very large and heavy one in my office and there are lots of swings and boings hanging throughout the abode. It works for me, but then I live alone and I am retired so my time is my birdies' time.

Interesting as my three parrots always stand on two legs. Very seldom do they stand on only one foot.

When my young grey growls it because he is unsure of that is happening. I just talk to him and explain to him what's going on. I love the young greys they are so trusting and loving.

Hi Jim, welcome to the Grey family! Yes greys do bite but then so do dogs and cats!! It all depends on how they are treated. All my parrots have bitten me at least once, but never have they broken skin or caused any bleeding. They give what I call warning nibbles. If you respect your grey or any parrot and take their word that "they just are not interested right now" you will be alright. So read away and ask any questions you may have, we are all grey lovers here.

Hi Mariesa congratulations on your new friend, he is lucky to have found you and Dave. I think you are already doing all the right things with your new grey. What are you going to name him, by the way? I would hold off on the wing clipping for now as your grey can't fly anyway because of the underdeveloped muscles but of course that is something you and Dave will need to decide. I am an advocate for flying as I truly enjoy hearing my parrots flying after me from room to room. To me a beautiful sound and my birdies are happy independent little beasties. I have a re-homed Blue Front amazon who was rather untame and he will not let me touch him (he is a biter) but he follows me around my home and goes in and out of his cage at my request. We have an understanding, I guess you would say. He is fully flighted and has finally begun to fly onto my shoulder and is happy as long as I do not try to touch him. He will then fly off. Go figure, Louie is is own man and I love him for it.

Oh I just love the young greys when you first get them home. They are so trusting and wanting to be part of the "flock". It's what you do during this time that helps Chickie be confident and loving. Sounds like all is going well for you and your BF and Chickie. Well done!!!!

Chickie is certainly a little cutie! Great pictures. Can't wait to hear how well she settles in.

I use aloe vera juice on all my parrots. I spray them at least once a week with 1/2 water and 1/2 aloe vera juice. People always comment on how shiny and beautiful my parrots are. I always hear others comment about their grey's dander and I have never experienced this with my greys.

My Louie, the zon, is the happiest parrot I have every seen. He never chews on anything but his toys.... okay my cereal box tops when he sneaks on top of the refrigerator!!!! If my greys would leave him alone they wouldn't hear a peep out of him as he lives in his own happy world. Louie tries very hard to please me and I couldn't be any happier than I am with this little clown in my life!!! So devil or angel, nope, just a happy little clown.

I have three parrots who are all under the age of 4. My greys have been with me since they were weaned. One is a TAG and one is a CAG. My Blue Front Amazon is a re-home. They are not friends and are always challenging each other for "top gun". They chase each other a lot and I have to watch them constantly. I had an older male eclectus who I know was at least 10 1/2 years old when I first re-homed him. My TAG would dive bomb him and really made life miserable for him so for his happiness, I gave him to a young man who is my next door neighbor. The best thing I ever did was give sweet Sully to a loving new parront. I got my parrots because I wanted them for me not for companionship for my other parrots. As far has each of my parrots is concerned they would be happiest as an only parrot. Each is a happy and secure birdie in their own right. So if you want to re-home this new grey, I would take advantage of bringing him into your home for a "trial run" to see if your older grey would remain as happy as he apparently is now. If you would, I would love to see some pictures of Howard and hear more about him.

In your place because your grey is young and not fully feathered I would just continue to clean off the excess formula with a damp cloth. It is important that your baby not get chilled. Just how old is your grey?
