Happy Hatchday Quinn!!!!!! Such a big boy now!!!

So glad to hear that Max has fit into your family so well. luv the update on Max and I love the EZ cages. That's what my three parrots have. Luv that you can fully open the front for cleaning. That newspaper fits in is priceless! My gang have the medium size because they do not go to the floor of the cage and to me that space is useless as they are out most of the day.

Great pictures, luv the avatar! Ana Grey could take some lessons from Phenix, she usually is so excited to have a drink that she quickly tips the glass over. No juice for her and a big mess for me!!!

Saw this on Craigslist...thought I would share....

Awwww my lovely ficus I have had for over 20 years, my parrots love it and have chomped it all to bits. My parrots are great, my ficus not so much!!!

I have three parrots. My smallest is my TAG my first parrot. She is very confident, jealous and very aggressive with my other two parrots. My middle-sized parrot is my Zon a re-home who is usually sweet with a "you leave me alone I'll leave you alone" attitude, but also with a "leave my perching spots alone if I want them or else" attitude. My biggest parrot is my CAG who is only 8 months old. If anyone comes and picks on him, he will stand his ground and the other two will leave before he will. My three will only tolerate each other. They are not friends and I'm not hopeful that they every will be. I am constantly breaking up fights, although so far they haven't really attacked each other in a blood curdling way just battles for position. I have taken pictures of them in semi-close proximally but with a very close eye to see that they do not go beak to beak. Will they ever be friends??? I don't know. They are all full-flighted, if I am not available to watch the three of them together, I will put my CAG, the biggest, the youngest in his cage, he is the one who could do the most damage and the other two know it. So my together pictures are all posed. It is seldom that my TAG and CAG will sit on my computer screen together and only if I am sitting at the screen.

Hi Sam, very nice introduction to you and Max. I am looking forward to to hearing how yours and Max's bonding goes. He is lucky to have have found you. I think you are going the right direction. Let Max take the lead and only go as far as he is comfortable. Welcome to the Grey family!

LOL!!! Too funny Birdnut. Luv it!!!!

Oh yes the sounds our greys make. Ana Grey has picked up the sound of the multiple sighs I give as I clean their birdroom every day. Or my coughing, she has a mean cough. I one I dislike the most is the sound of my answering machine when there are calls waiting for me to return. All three of my parrots like that sound and so I hear it a lot!!! Now the sound of my dying smoke alarm batteries are most annoying, as this sound Ana Grey likes to do at night.

Ana Grey's breeder was fantastic, she handled her babies all the time and even clipped their nails so that they would not be afraid of it. Sterling's breeders were the same they played with Sterling and had him with them until I took him home, he was very well socialized and trusting. So both Ana Grey and Sterling Gris are very people friendly with me and unafraid of whatever I do. Now Louie, he is so busy (note the active videos of him) his nails are always in good shape, thank goodness for me.

My daughter helps me if my parrots need a nail clip, she clips I hold. Works for us.

I believe any animal as well as people can suffer from mental illness. It is defined as--Any of various conditions characterized by impairment of an individual's normal cognitive, emotional, or behavioral functioning, and caused by social, psychological, biochemical, genetic, or other factors, such as infection or head trauma.

So glad you have your power back. The only really good thing about this outage is that we finally got you to post some great pictures of your birdies!!!!! Goes to show that Penny is very resourceful and imaginative. Very nice Penny and so happy all is now well and back in shape in your abode! Your babies all look beautiful, comfy & secure, hooray!! What more pictures!!! I almost missed them. Oh my goodness I really don't envy your situation! But on a good note, it certainly must be beautiful where you live... in the proper weather of course.

"Grey People", why would you have another breed?
Luvparrots replied to CLB's topic in The GREY Lounge
My second parrot was actually a re-homed older male eclectus parrot. He and Ana Grey, my TAG did not get along. Ana Grey was very jealous and the older ekkie, very nervous around Ana Grey, she would dive bomb him and peck at Sully all the time. I rehomed Sully with a young man who lives next door. Sully is happy and well loved. He is more happy as an only bird. So of the three I have now, my Amazon was my next parrot. A rehomed Blue Front zon. He is three the same age as Ana Grey. They have a mutual understanding of each other and do fight but I am comfortable with them together. My CAG is only 8 months old and twice as large as either of my other parrots. Sterling holds his own with the other two and they can all tolerate each other but I am very watchful of them all together. -

I have three parrots. A TAG and CAG and an Blue Front Amazon. I have always been fascinated by parrots because of their ability to talk and after my children were all grown up, I finally got my first. I wanted a grey because they are fantastic talkers. I chose the TAG as my first parrot because they are smaller than CAGs and from my readings more confident than their counterparts the Congo. I still hold that belief after being owned by both. The zon is because of the threads and information given by the first moderator of the Amazon Room, Jay, who posted and spoke of his zon and did some nice threads about the different amazons there are and I just had to have one. I was not disappointed. I have the parrots I need now, the three kinds that I totally adore. -
line my birdies' cages with good old newspaper. The cages are the exact length to put newspaper. Works great for me!

Grey post! Nice to hear things are going so well with your and Tia! Hooray!

I don't know if you call it training, or just repetition. I talk to my parrots all the time. Louie always seems to be listening when I talk to him. When I put them to bed I always say "nite, nite" or "Time to go nite, nite". My parrots always follow me around from room to room so I just head to their birdroom. Louie has a boing over his cage and he loves to sit on it. I just tap the top of his cage door and he comes down. It probably helps that there are safflower seeds and cracked corn in his food bowl for his night time snack. A little bribery goes a long way!!!! LOL!!!
-
A batting cage, remarkable. Thanks for the info. As to Louie, his hatchday is in January and he is now 3 years 10 months old. I understand zons start to mature around 5 years but I am not worried, Louie will be Louie and we will just adjust as needed.

What!!!! A grey that loves water more than my greys do. Priceless. I love your pictures of Oliver and hope he comes home soon.
