1. If only us in England had wings.I can get petrol for £1 per litre by me which is about the cheapest for miles. It is just silly the price of petrol hear.
2. Thanks Dave. I have a large pan on the couch at the moment,if it does not scare him at least I can hit him with it,ONLY JOKING.
3. Hear is Charlies stand

I gotta go...

Maybe its mind over matter but all this talk has made we want to go pee.
7. Thanks Dan.It started with covering the couch up with a sheet but Charlie soon realised he could chew the leather threw the sheet and once he got the idea of chewing the leather that was it,he keeps going back to make the hole bigger.I am wondering about the products you can get in the pet chop for birds to stop chewing,I presume it is a taste they dont like.It is safe because you can also put it on the bird to stop feather chewing.I dont think it is much use for feather chewing though,I think it would make them preen more in an attempt to clean the feathers.Maybe as you say I will have to make the couch a no go area all together. Its that or keep coming up with scary object sto keep him away.
8. Pat the stand may help.He does not like cuddles sitting on me,he likes to be close but not on my lap. Thanks for the ideas, any more would be most welcome.
9. I have tried that Pat but perhaps I was not consistant enough.I think he is also confused because of an evening I let him sit on the arm of the couch for a head scritch so I am telling him one second dont go on the couch and the next I am letting him have a head scritch of an evening. So maybe the evening cuddle is out. I really hope not.
10. Charlie has got in to a bad habbit of chewing my leather couch.I am removing him from it and placing him on the cage or stand. He will go to his cage on command and will do this and then say good boy.I realise that by removing him and asking him to get on his cage is giving him attention for the behaviour as he enjoys it and he loves drama.I cant ignore him because I will end up with no couch. The only thing that works is putting a scary object on the couch and that only works till he becomes acustomed to it.I would be very greatful for any sugestions.
11. Thats great news,I hope things keep on improving for you.and Alfie.
12. Thanks for reviving this Dan. It is a heart warming story. Thank you Graehstone for the original post.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/06/21 18:16
13. That is a beautiful legend Dan and one we can all learn from.True beauty does indeed come from within.
14. Hi Matt, congratulations on the addition of Dafney to your family.Everything you are doing is great so far. I am pleased you have excellent guide lines from Dafneys previous owners regarding her diet and routine, this will help a lot in getting Dafney settled in.Any diet or routine changes needed can be done gradually as she becomes more at home.It sounds as if you have done your homework on greys before Dafney came home and have an idea of the hard work and time exotics need. There are two views on the vet visit one is to hang on as long as possible before going and the other is to go as soon as possible to have a thorough check up of the bird.As you have no other birds to worry about with regards to illness and quarantine and if the bird looks in good health, eatin, playing I sugest letting her settle first.Good luck and I am looking forward to hearing more about Dafney and if you can I would love to see some pictures.
15. Janet I am so happy for you and Sully. He is coming on so well in such a short time. You have done wonders.
16. I agree,a vets advise is needed beforegiving any medication.
17. I think you would find it very rewarding. It is a hard decision to make leaving a steady income.Make sure you are aware of any legal requirements, insurance, faw cirtificate and such.I really hope it works out for you.
18. Hope you have a fantastic night out Caroline,I bet you will love the new girlie dress.I love it when I get the chance to dress up rather than slob round in jeans,it does not happen often though. One word of warning, though, WATCH THE NOSE.Tell me all about it when you get the chance. Wish your friend Happy Birthday.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/06/19 21:32

problems

Judy is right, your baby is growing up and developing a mind of his own, rather like children as they grow.
23. My guess is it will be harder on you than zzero. It will be strange but he will adjust just fine. I work full time shift work so my two are left for some time. I find it helps to give plenty of chew toys,my Charlie loves books to chew up. I also have a toy box in the bottom of the cage into which I put verious foot toys and treats wrapped up in paper for him to find.I also leave the radio on or the tv for him and Cracker.A neighbour also pops in if needed,I do the same for her dogs. Good luck with your new job,it sounds great, enjoy.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/06/17 20:15
