What a decision to have to make.Myself, I would leave them with your brother. At least that way you can keep a check on them .Its a decision you must make alone,I am sure you will do what you think best for the birds.
My two dont get 10-12 hours sleep a night, they would never get enough time with me which I feel is more important.I too like them to follow a natural day/night system and catch up on any needed sleep when I am at work.
I know he is not a grey and some of you have seen this before but hear is Cracker at 2 weeks old in the pet shop when I first met him and as you can guess put a deposit on him there and then

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/06/27 22:28
How about the electric fires built in to their own fire place.I am not sure if you have them in Canada but they are portable and have a mantle piece on top. That would stop any burnt toes
JenI am so sorry to hear this.I am asuming you know and are taking all the usual avenues, vets, local media, pet stores, adverts in super markets, internet, flyers and such. I really feel for you and wish you the bestof luck for Schroeders safe return. Please keep us up dated.
I love african names for greys. My favourite is Malaika which means angel.I like both the names you have for your new grey,I understand your reservations about calling the new bird the name you chose for the first baby but it is a beautiful name.Maybe you could look on the name Kasuku as a tribute and still name the new bird Kasuku.
Welcome to the forum,I hope you find it useful.
I live alone aswell and work fulltime. I dont often go out to teach new words,Charlie just picks them up as we go along.I think I will experiment by picking a phrase to teach him and see how long he takes to pick it up.
Whisper is a smart grey. Its hard to know what is a typical vocablary for a bird of whispers age as I believe it depends on the birds circumstances. Some owners can spend hours teaching new words and some birds are more inclined to talk than others.Charlie is now 6 years old and I was only thinking the other day that he has not said anything new for ages and wondering if they lack interest in learning as they get older or is it just because I have not taught him anything he is interested in?At a guess he has a vocabulary of around 150-200 words and phrases.I have a list on the lap top of all he can say and one for Cracker the tiel who is a really good talker as well.
That is so true,I hope he is remembered for the musical genius he was rather than the victim of his own fame he became .I would give him countless Karma for his music.
I was privalaged to see michael Jackson perform at Aintree race course which is about 10 mins from my house many years ago at the hight of his fame. He was so profesional and talented it took your breath away.I know in later years he went off the rails but I will always remember that concert and the stage presence the man had.I hope he is now at piece with him self and the world.God Bless Michael.
I do not think he is weaned. He sounds very ill infact. Please get some food in to him and go to a vet right away. The vet will check him over and give you advise. For now look in the nursary section hear for tips on feeding.
