Empera, Thats great news you have got the go ahead to get your grey. Are you looking for a baby or a rehome? Have you already seen a grey? When I got my greys, I had each one a couple of weeks and learnt the greys personality before choosing a name, I had some ideas but got to know the bird a bit before making a final decision. Make sure you look on the net, there are plenty of sites with parrot names, traditional, unusual etc. Keep us updated, I cant wait to hear about a new arrival to our grey family. Caroline.

Charlie is the talker out of my three, he never stops from the moment he wakes up! He started talking when he was about a year old. Keeko who is 9 months has just started talking properly now, he tends to say a lot of the things that Charlie does, he did say his first word at about 5 months though. Thats funny Sheila, my Charlie whistles Marching on together, as our boys support Leeds United! Its so funny what they learn.

nims, I have two of mine going through a molt at the moment. Keeko is going through his first at 9 months and Charlie is 17 months. There seem to be a lot on the forum molting at the moment. I am sure he will be going through a molt. I know it can be a bit worrying when you keep finding the feathers but try not to worry to much. Charlies feathers are coming away easily as well, like you say you only need to give them a head scratch. Will Ice let you mist him? If so be sure to keep up with regular misting. Keep us updated though if you do have any concerns or you feel there are signs of Ice plucking but I dont think there will be. Caroline.

Sorry to hear of your depression,it can affect so many people, any age, all walks of life but think positive and keep on taking the medication, most anti depressants dont kick in for about 4-6 weeks so hopefully you will feel some improvement soon. Its great to hear you are doing your research before entering into the world of greys, there is so much to learn about these wonderful birds. You already have some experience with the shared duties of your boyfriends greys so you know what they are all about and how rewarding they can be. Yippee everyone, its Friday!!! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day yesterday. Its pretty cold here today, the car was frozen over this morning when I took the kids to school and its meant to get colder over the weekend! I have been doing lots of Christmas shopping online this week and had most of it delivered this morning, just got to hide it before the kids get home from school! Got to go and do the dreaded weekly food shop next. Fridays and shopping! Not such a good idea! But, it has to be done. Catch up with everyone later, hope you all have a great friday. Caroline.

Sheila, sounds like you had a great time! My husband Dave was so jelous you were going as these have always been one of his favourite groups! I would have loved to hear them sing The Cutter, one of their best songs. Lets hope the new Academy they have built in Leeds will attract groups like these, its about time we had some good live music here as the nearest place is normally Sheffield, dare I say it I actually went to see Westlife there the other year:whistle: Must have looked a bit out of place with all those screaming teenagers:laugh: Did you get lots of pictures last night? Karme to you LabRat00! This is a really good point! People should always check out the safety before taking their bird anywhere! Sorry to sound boring but just think of the dangers as well! Cookwear, air freshners etc! Good thinking! On a lighter note, I hope everything is bird safe and you do get to take your baby with you! Caroline.

The perches work really well! I use these with all my three and it keeps their nails nice and trim. Like Judy said, use them in a spot they will get regular use, mine are all next to their food bowls, this way I know they are used on a daily basis and not avoided by the birds.
