Does anyone else have a grey who suffers from night frights? It doesnt happen all the time, but maybe once every other week I week up to Charlie flapping round his cage. WhenI go down to him he will be sat on the bottom of his cage and look terrified! I then have to settle him and wait for him to go to sleep again. He has already damaged his primarys doing this.the vet said its quite common with greys.Do you think this is true or has he fallen of his perch whilst sleeping? Let me know if anyone else has had similar probs.
Bailey, just read your post and I just cant believe it! you will get through this with lots of support and good advice which everyone here can offer you.How old are they? Do you know? I believe these things happen for a reason. Keep us posted.
It must be a full time job looking after that lot! When do you get your baby? I feel excited as well.I have been thinking of getting a second grey but my other half is not keen on the idea. how long have you had the chins?
Hello and welcome.I remember bringing charlie home I was scared and excited just like you are. Charlie is 7 months old now and has routines just like a baby does.He has me and my husband running rings round him! We also have 3 chinchillas and 2 cats and not much time left to do anything else! But I love my animals and wouldnt change a thing.
The only other option is to get my neighbour to call in a few times a day. she is willing to do this for me and could possibly get someone to stay overnight who charlie is not familiar with. He would be on his own most of the time though and I know he wouldnt be happy.Do you think it would be better to do this than send him to pet shop? Either way I think I will come ack to a very sulky bird. All my friends think I am mad.I am sick of people saying its only a bird.I know you all understand.
We have a holiday booked for the beg of June for two weeks and I am so worried about leaving Charlie! I have no one to house sit for him who could take care of him.The only option I have is to have him board at the local pet store which I dont want to do because I know he would be really scared and he wont go in carrier to get him there. Should I cancel my holiday? Please help if anyone has come across this problem.I dont want to come back to a frightened and phobic bird just for the sake of going away for two weeks.
Tried to get charlie in his carrier to take out for the first time. He is about 7 months old now it was a nightmare. Can anyone help with ideas on trying to get him in? need to get this prob sorted in case I need to take him to the vets in an emergency.Would also like to start taking him out.He is a very nervous bird.
