I would give your vet a call and see what she says about it. your bird could have a sinus infection. i've had birds for years and that is definatly not normal.

Your husband is going to have to work on being his friend. Whats going to end up happening is your birds going to be locked inhis cage forever it won't work that way . he is going to have to start with bringing him treats and talking to him what might help is if you get him out and take him to a room away from his cage and then pass him to your husband and leave the room. this way he can start building up his place in the birds life. this may have to be done for a month or two then he may be will find a place for your husband in his life your husband should also feed him and help with the cleaning also.

Your baby is so cute its so nice that you have taken the time to learn and prepare yourself for this wonderful adventure your about to have. These birds are very special as yo will see over the many years they will become a very important part of your life not that much different from haveing a human child except they don't leave to get married or go to college. They are so amazing and so smart and I now that you are going to enjoy your new copanion so much. Just give him time some greys like affection when they are a little sleepy and its close to bedtime I know my grey doesn't like me to touch her to much during the day except to step up but as far as scritches and pets go she only wants them just around bedtime and then she can't seem to get enough and will sit there and let me scritch her head and neck all night if I let her.

My Adaya really likes her baths also the other day she found Tycos water dish on her play top and started splashing around so I started misting her at the same time now everday she want to do it again it so cute I'm so glad she like the water, Your Adaya looks so pretty and wet aren't they wonderful little sweeties.

It sounds like you've got yourself a new best friend thats so great. I just love to hear about birds that have attached themselves to a new companion quickly I sad when they greive for their previous home and just sit and do nothing. Least its not going to be to hard for him to get on with his life

Tyco isn't a big fan of hanging toys except her bell and her boing she has tons of foot toys she loves them. a couple days ago she had thrown all her toys onto the floor (nothing new) so she says to me mom wanna play I said mabie in a little while. she say Tyco wanna play I said thats nice she said toys want toys. I said oh is that what this is all about you want me to pick up your toys Tyco yea then sha said bug-a-boo- quack quack, tweet tweet. those are her 3 favorites and her duck that says quack quack,her baby chick that says tweet tweet and bug a boo that says all kinds of thing when you move the handles or wings back and forth. she new what she wanted and it wasn't to play with me she just wanted me to pick them up for her as usual.:laugh:

I'm so glad your baby has been raised with love and lot of socializing. I now its going to be hard for you to stop playing with hin long enough to take some pictures for us but please try I just dieing to see this baby.

My new Adventure pack arrived yesterday and I just so happy happy happy. Now when I take Adaya out for her walk I can take Tyco also Adaya can go on her harness and Tyco can go in the Adventure pack. I just can't wait Adaya has already been for a walk and a 1 1/2 hour car ride this morning it was nice and sunny then now its cloudy and looks like its going to rain so I guess my baby Tyco won't be able to go til tomorrow. its supposed to be sunny all weekend I can't wait. I want to try it out right NOW

If she wants to sit on her cage and eat I guess thats what todo you should get a screen for the glass sliding door so she can get some natural sun and then she can here all the birds outside. My birds love to sit by the sliding doog and get some fresh air.

I know that feeling so well I remember the first time Tyco actualy said mom ilove you I melted it almost brought tears to my eyes. She doesn't say it very often but when she does it means alot. Gizmo my Severe Macaw says kiss kiss I love you every night when I put him to bed he's so sweet that bird he says please when he wants something and thankyou everytime I give him something and if I say thank you for him letting me kiss him or give him a little scritch he says your welcome he knows his manners very well and uses them appropriatly iys so nice to have such a polite little birdy around mabie he will teach my other birds.:laugh:

I'm so glad you got yourself such a wonderful companion his previous owner obviously did a tremendous job of socializing him. No wonder he was in tears when you where walking out the door with him. Thats great that he took a bath in his waterdish to bad you weren't there to offer him a larger dish of water he may have gotten everybit of the ciggerette smell off of himself. It really sounds like everything went really well at the vet. I hope all the tests come back just great. how are his feathers looking any better since he's had a couple baths. he must have known he was going out and wanted to look his best:laugh: I hope you and him have many more fun days out and about and its so nice that he's such a lovely friendly bird enjoy him lot I would love to see some pictures when you can find the time.

Those are the same ones I have they are porcilin this is the small one that I have but I also have a big one some where if I can find it I don't know if she will like stiking her head into the smaller one its only 3 inches the bigger one is better and it fits into the holders in her cage. <br><br>Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/05/07 22:45

I've had Fergie for 9 years now and she loves to rip them appart to find the treats inside. she's happy and healthy and she just had her annual check up and everything came back great so she will continue to get her favorite foraging toy those and the little sunkist raisen boxes are the 2 most favorite forging toys sometimes I'll even leave a raisen or 2 in the little box.

My baby has gone off her pellets as well but she eats her fresh fruits and veggis and he dried fruit. she isn't keen on mashes either she loves cooked carrots though. I guess shes ok she seems really health and shes gaining weight regulaly since she fledged she went down to 429 gr and she is back up to 445grs so I'm notto worried I wish she would eat them but if she doesn''t she gets enough of everything else.

Oh I know the kind you mean I think I have a couple of those some where only mine are porcelin I have no Idea what I did with them though I hope I did't give them away to the little girl accross the street. I don't think I did because they where really expensive I have a big 4inch one and I also have a 3 inch one. Shoot I have to work don't have time to look today. I'll dig them out on my days off thanks for the reminder.

I goona buy some rice paper today and make some of these tomorrow and see what happens mabie I can get Adaya to eat her pellets this way.

I think she just likes the feel of kicking things with her feet when she was a baby she would kick the pine shavings all over the place and now because she doesn't have the shavings anymore she's kicking her pellets and seeds everywhere I don't know what todo she waste so much food. I've tried a few differnt pellets and if I put them with her seed mix she does eat them but she takes a few bites then emty's the bowl I guess I could just take her food bowls out and leave empty bowls in her cage except for a coulpe times a day but I don't know if she's old enough for that I don't thin she eats enough at one sitting to hold her until dinner. mabie I'll try giving her smaller bowls so she can't fit her feet in it to scratch the food out.

I don't see a problem as long as the shoes are clean. You better keep your shoes well hidden or he will be chewing them right off your feet:laugh:

Don't worry Sydney won't hold it against you for long a year or 2 max ha ha Just kidding.You did the right thing by getting him out of there carpet cleaning fumes can be quite dangerous for birds. he will settle down once thing get back to normal.

I'm haveing problems with Adaya eating her pellets she used to love them and now she doesn't go near them she also wasn't eating her veggies but I found a solution to that I hung her veggies from a fuit ang veggie scewer and shes eating them really well she eats her seeds and nuts no problem and it does have pellets in them wich I've seen her eat but she also likes to emty her bowls by kicking all her food out of them I'm afraid she not getting enough how can I stop her from kicking her food out of the bowls.

Yes I give them to my birds all the time sometimes I even hang a wholle roll of tp or paper towels in their cages to shred they have a great time with it. Just make sure there is no glue residue on them and it shoul be fine.
