Well I guess I'm extreamly fortunate because I can lay 4 of my birds on their backs in my hand without any problem Adaya my baby, my Indian ring neck, My Amazon Fergie and Sprout my GCC all of these birds except Fergie I've had since they were babys although Adaya was the only one that I handfed the other two where totaly weaned. Adayas been playing on her back with me since she was 7 weeks old. I was her Mama so trust just came naturaly to get her to roll over on her back was just another fun game to play with her mom it wasn't hard at all to get her used to it.

Yea they are very good at ruining furnature If I had an inside cat I'd probubly do the same thing but I'd never bring a cat into my house with My birds so I never have to worry. My dogs on the other hand get along great with my birds My Shith-zu plys mama to Adaya and guards her when shes on the floor so noone steps on her. Its very cute

Thats very true that my local pet store will order anything I need or want I got my Boings and fruit skewers that way I order red palm oil on line the other day and then took Adaya to my vet only to realize when I got there that she sells the exact same red palm oil that I ordered for 8 dollars lss money. It really pays sometimes to buy things locally there is another pet store close to my home that make all their own bird toys they specialize in birds mostly although they do sell puppys ferrets and other critters birds are their Majority and let me tell you their toys are way way cheaper than I can even make myself and they are beautiful the largest toys they have are 20.00 and anywhere online the same toy would cost 50.00 I shop for toys there all the time. Its very hard to keep my MBS in check when I go in there so I only go about onnce every 3 months and stock up big time. other wise I'm sure I'd have allot more birds then I already have. The last time I was in there it was so hard to leave without taking the Cherryhead conure they had with me. It was so sweet and so wanted to come with me. I'm scared to go back to soon or I may have another bird (not):laugh:

Don't worry Jane08 I doubt my abilitys when it comes to owning parrots also but the birds are forgiving when I just don't feel like scrubbing there cage that day or cooking a nice warm dinner for them. The cage gets scrubed the next day instead and if the have to eat raw veggies for dinner they don't seem to mind. I'm sure there are others here that feel the same way some time. I always kick myself in the backside and tell my self you have them now their your responsibility get cracking and give them the best you got. And I do I wouldn't want to know what life would be like without them I love them sosososo much

I got Adaya sexed and I thought she was a he and it turned out to be a girl. I ended up changing her name because Shady just didn't sound girly enough for such a pretty girly girl but it certinly didn't change the way I felt about her she is just the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time. He so cute I just love dogs I have 3 of them 1 papplion 1 collie and 1 Shith-zu they are my other sweet darlings

I would be very careful one out of place scratch with that cats claws and its bye-bye birdy even if it was an accident with the cat trying to swat at the beads and got your bird instead. I won't even have a cat since I got my big birds.

That is so great Adaya is really trying to talk also I've heard her say a couple things and I repeat what she says in hopes that she will say it again but she doesn't so I'm not sure you know how it is. WOW 11weeks and talking & flying like a pro. You have one smart little baby there. I have a Sony cyber shot also but I can't help because I don't now either I know on a 35 mm you have to use fast film to catch action shots you have to speed up you shutter thats all I know.

Back on page 4 of this thread I only had 1 cag and was wishing for a Tag now I have 2 Cag and I refuse to get anymore bird so I guess I'll never get my Tag (never say never):laugh:

I must have very strange Greys because Adaya & Tyco just love their baths Tyco prefers hers in the bathtub with a couple inches of water then I continue filling the tub with the shower and she will run inand out of the shower wings spread having a grey't time when the water gets up to her crop bath time is done and she's soaked to the skin. Adaya loves being sprayes with the water bottle and also opens her wings and fluffs her seathers until she is soaked to the skin. I guess I just got lucky and found the way they both prefer to bath

They are awesome but they need a lot of care and attention. at least 4or 5 hours of out of cage time daily and another 1or2 hours of your undivided one on one attention daily they are very messy and destructive. Toy are a must and lots of them so they don't get bored and start eating yur house altough they may eat your house anyway. if you don't mind a little bird poop here and there and everywhere even on you then. you may be the kind of person who might like a parrot for a companion they are not for everyone but if you can live with what might be and you can afford one because they are very expensive to keep then you might just be a parrot person and if you are then the rewards will far out weigh the bad. the joy and laughter of haveing a well adjusted happy parrot in your home is something very special indeed

What a cute picture of Murphy I bet you and him are the best of friends am I right. Ibet you can't wait until schools out for summer so you can spend even more time with him. have you started harness training him yet so you can take him out with you to the beach and for walks or just to hae him with you. I love taking Adaya with me and I do when ever I can she loves to be out and about enjoying the sun and meeting new people she so friendly everyone just loves her. So tell us all about murphy and what you and him have been doing.

Thats so cute the more excited you get about it the more she will Say it and then soon she will try new things to see if you get excited about that also and pretty soon you'll be haveing grey't conversations with her what fun it is to own and to be owned by an African Grey parrot or any parrot for that matter.

Boy do I know about keyboards I'm on my second one with my birds It was holding up really well until I got Adaya now My backspace button is missing I have no Idea where it went My space bar is there but just barely along with a couple other keys as well I have to take it in and get it fixed but can't stand the thought of having no laptop for a week or two. My daughter won't let me near the desktop so I would be stuck useing My I phone for a computer until I got mine back yuk.

I love those ten pet comandments nothing truer was ever spoken. I am going through the last years with my Collie at the moment and I am not lookig forward to the day he is gone. I've had him since he was just a little ball of fluff and he will be 14 yrs old in June he has slowed down allot this last year and I can tell he's really starting to feel his age the last time i went to the vet aand checked his age in dog years he was 93 years old. I know everyday brings us a little closer to the day I will no longer have him. he's so beautiful and so smart I know when he gone I am going to be totally devastated.

Dayo's a very pretty boy. I like his bombs away impretion also that so cute He really like to break up almonds like Judy said I couldn't tell if he actually ate any. He reminds me so much of Tyco when he was throwing his toys off the play gym and smashing them against it . Tyco does that too Tycos not big on hanging toy but she loves foot toys.Thank you for sharing that with us I totaly enjoyed it. Please more when you ge the chance

I take Adaya with me in the car allot and If I'm driving the car I use for work it doesn't have Air conditioning but its cheep on gas. any way when its hot out I have seen her start to overheat in 15 minutes I always carry a bottle of water with me in the car it doesn't take much to pour a little water into the palm of my hand and then soak Adaya down with it she cools down almost imediatly I always keep the windows open about an inch also she knows with her harness that she can't go to far from me she just sits on the back of my seat or the head rest, or on my shoulder. she loves going for car rides and walks heck she just like to go out and check out the rest of the world.

Oh boy do I know how that is my bird check out my plate totaly and if its not exactly whats in their plate they let me know really quickly that something is missing. then if I don't respond they will come over and try to steal what ever it is that is missing from their dish

on the rope or chain use a 12 inch long 2inches pvc tube with caps screw eye hooks into the caps and attach the chain or rope to either end the pvc is to slippery and hard to grip works well for protecting your ceiling as well as stopping her from reaching thins she isn't allowed to.

I look at that and think oh how I'd love an outdoor place for my birds to play in they have a cage out on the sun deck but only one can go out at a time and its not very big its basicly just to get them some fresh air and sunshine. I think I'll get my Ex husband over here this summer and get him to screen off under the sundeck it would make a beautiful place for my babys to play what kind of wire did you use is it safe for birds.

She really likes those rollers I can totally see that she is a real little girly girl she loves rolars and kleenex makeup and toothbrushes she has to look her very best and it takes time to get ready in the bathroom she definatly doesn't want to part with her rollers thats for sure.:laugh:
