They will go when the have to if your not around to tell them to go poop they will tell themselves to go I know this because Tyco will do this when she has to poop she thinks she has to broadcast it so just before she goes She says go poop and then lets it fly its actually quite nice that she does this because that way if she happens to be on me I can move her before getting pooped on

Hi my name is Patricia also I have 2 greys 1 is a rescue that I saved a couple years ago she is 6 yrs old now her name is Tyco. the other is a baby that I brought home about 12 weeks ago when she was just 5 weeks old. I have experiance when it comes to handfeeding so I fed and weaned my baby girl myself she is 17 weeks old and the sweetest most wonderful baby you could ever possibly ask for. When your baby comes home she or he will already know you so there is a very good chance that she will look to you for comfort and reassurance because she will be in a totally new enviroment and you will be the only thing there that is familier to her or him. if thats the case by all means cuddle her/him and talk sweetly mabie sing a lulaby these kinds of thing will help her/him to understand that you will be there to protect her and make her feel safe. She will learn that she can trust and count on you for her well being. take things slow but be there for her always that whats important when she first comes home.

I guess I got lucky with Tyco everytime I leave the room my Amazon screams like a banshee until I whistle something she knows or go back into the room. I don't mind a contact call but what she does goes why past that. Tyco has always hated her sceaming as much as me and tells fergie to just be quiet. At least I don't have two of them screaming at me thank goodness. As long as Adaya doesn't Learn it then I think I can stand it my onlybig problem is when Fergie screams it hurts the dogs ears and they start howling and yelping louder than Fergie its enough to make you want to leave home.

I have the same problem I have natural wood trim around all my windows and ceiling they only go for the window trimming so I figues since they aready started I'might as well let them go for it Its easy enough to replace. Its only one side and about 1 foot that they chewed Fergie did the window by her cage and Tyco did about the same to just one of the windows by her cage then both of them stopped and haven't done it since I guess its no fun if they are allowed so to replace 2 pieces of trim Is easy

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/09 00:32

I wouldn't worry about 10 gr if it where 40 or 50 grams thats when to start to worry 10% weight loss is concidered a reasonable amount to require a Vet visit anything less should be watched to make sure He doesn't keep losing weight Its summer time now and I have noticed my birds have lost a little also I think because its hot their appetites are not what they were in the winter time I also noticed that they aren't playing as much in the middle of the day when it really warm they play more in the mornings and then again around 5pm

I never thought about useing crochet yarn that would be perfet because it does't add size to the perches I built a atom type play gym for my birds and it already 1 inch so I don't want to add size to it You just gave me the perfect solution Thank you

I would say she is pretty quiet most of the time she does practice trying to talk and when she really gets into playing with her toys or wrestling with me she can get loud but for the most part she is a quiet sweet little girl. -
Thats just wonderful news I'm so glad that you bonded with her.

I just want to say thankyou to each and everyone of you that are constantly asking for pictures. I was looking through all my pictures of Adaya this morning and I was thinking if it wasn't for this forum there would be no way that I would have all these wonderful pictures to look at of her growing up I just not a person who takes a lot of pictures but I have more pictures of Adaya than I have of my grandkids. So thanks everyone I'm just thrilled to death I have some wonderful pictures of my baby growing up.

I would say your going to have some mabie How old are your birds if they are young there is a good chance that they won't get it right this time and the eggs won't be fertile. if they are a couple years old then there is a chance you may get a couple baby's keep us updated if you didn't want baby's why would you put a male and female in the same cage thats just asking for trouble.
-

Tyco lives for pellets eats all them out of her seed mix and all her Zupreem fruit flavored and garden goodness but she won't eat harrison Go figure. Adaya on the other hand won't touch her pellets with a ten foot pole.
