I'm going to take it as just a freak accident and hope it never happens again it was just so stranger I think probubly she flapped her wings and her wing went through the bars and then when she closed her wing the bend in her wing was still through the bars so she couldn't pull it back through which left her hanging all I did to free her was open her wing. but If I wasn't there I don't know if she would be able to figure that out because she would be in a state of panic like yesterday It will probubly never happen again at least I hope not. I could get her another cage but there is no way I could find anything as nice or as big as the one she's got that I could afford and she loves her cage she an actually fly from one side to the other is so big. Theres no way I want to take that away from her.

I use the hollow wall ceiling hooks the have a butterfl bolt that opens up to so you don't have to find a stud only instead of using the hoos that come with it I use loog eye hooks and screw them into the butterfly bolt than hang my toys fron that its easy and works well it does make a hole in the ceiling bot a little plaster and its good as new, I own my home and have no intentions of moving anytime soon so If I have hooks every where in my house so that my birds can be happy its fine with me I don't have much floor space left due to the size of their cages so most of their playgyms and swings boings orbits and Atoms all hang from my ceilings the birds just love it they fly around from one to anotherto another and get a ton of excersize One day when I get ambishous I'll turn my guest room into a playroom for them but that will have to be a little later as there is so much stuff in there that I have to get rid of first

I was changing the papers in her cage today and normally I do this when shes out playing well today I thought well I'll just get it done it only takes a minute. well in that minute Adaya got scared and I looked up and she had her wing stuck through the bars of the cage and she was just hanging there. it scared me so bad It didn't take much to free her but now I'm worryed that it might happen again when Im not home the bar spacing is 1 inch and thats what all my birds have and its never been a problem. She loves her cage I don't really want too go get her a different one do you think it was just because she was scared this happened do you think it will happen again.

Have you taken her to the vet from the smelly issue if she isn't well she may be biting because of that. If you have taken her to the vet then I agree with the others that she's just trying to figure out who's boss. Then don't scream don't make a scene of any kind they love drama and if your makeing a scene or screaming everytime she bites then she wil keep doing it jst to get the reaction. the best thing todo is show no emotion at all like so what you bit me its not going to work give them a time out and turn your back and leave the room. he will soon realize biting isn't going to get him anything except to get locked up.

What a sweet little birdy Echo is she/he is very chatty I love all the baby sounds he makes I wish Adaya was more into making baby noises she is quiet like Caitlans Echo the only time she really gets chatty is when she's rough houseing with her toys or playing with me other than that sheis really quiet. she does consentrate on my mouth when I talk to her and she moves her mouth like shes trying to copy me. She does practice in her cage sometimes I can tell she's trying to talk its very cute.

If you are smelling anything in and around her that cannot be related to food then its definatly time to have your bird checked by an avian vet birds don't smell their poop has no odor nor do their feathers so if you are smelling something she may have an infection and you need to have her checked. Get yourself a nice garden sprayer and bath her over top of her head so it falls like rain I have one of those garden sprayers that you pump first and the spray is very fine it works great for the birds and they get really wet and enjoy it. it takes a few tmes but they really need to bath often.

Thats wonderful news she will be talking your ear off in no time. I so glad that she has started eating her pellets and veggies she will stay very healthy and happy your a very good mama.

Don't give up Caitlan Adaya hasn't always liked it but she loves getting her face and beak rubbed and when I turned her over I would rub her face and bea until she calmed down I didn't start with her laying in the palm of my hand I started rolling over on my bed and pretty soon she was rolling herself over so I would pet her face and beak and then she started playing like that now I can do anything I want with her she knows she can trust me.

I have to be careful sometimes when she is on my shoulder because she will all of a sudden think its time to play and rolloff my shoulder and expect me to catch her which of corse I always do. Then there are those times that she can be just a little brat like when we are sitting on the couch and she will climb on top of my head and while holding on to my hair she will drop down in front of my face and start playing with my nose. she thinks its really funny and she won't let go of my hair for anything the little brat.:evil: :laugh: oh well what can you do except love them to peices.

Your new Cockatoo is absolutly gorgous I love all your pictures. I rescued one a few years back and I just loved him to peices but he did not get along with my young daughter and would attack and bite her. he also hated my other birds and also men as well. so I rehomed him to a single mid age woman That had lost her too the year before she had him for 20 years.

Thats so great I'm so glad that you suceeded with putting a harness on Harvey Its so nice to be able to take them outside and enjoy the nice weather without haveing to be put in a cage. I love taking Adaya out and about with me she has such a good time and the way she is with me when where out shows my just how much she love and trusts me to keep her safe. Her and I have a wonderful relationship and it gets better everyday. Spending the extra time and effort to harrness train you bird will really strengthen the bond that you and your bird have also I 'm sure of it.

I think I would have been a little pissed also what kind of people do they have working for them anyway. I've never order anything from them do they have nice stuff. I'll have to check them out although I very seldom but anything on line from the USA because it cost double to have it shipped to Canada some things I will if I really want it for my birds badly and I can't get it in Canada like the Adverture pack trvel cage I bought one ove those it cost me 279.00 ouch I also want to by the Atom from www.motherpluckers.com but it will cost me 240. dollars so my birds are going to have to wait a little bit for it mabie by the 1st of September I'll be able to get them one. I made one for now and bought them a orbit that will do them until then Spoilt little boggers. Sometimes I can't beleive the things I do for my baby's I any of my non bird friends found out just how much money I spent on them I swear they would have me commited to the nut house:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I hope you enjoy these Adaya gets really excited when we play but she is as gentle as can be.

Oh I miss that stage so much look how adorable he is I could jst eat him all and squeeze him. Adaya is still asa sweet as can be at 17week but when I got her she was 5 weeks old and so so precious. you must be thrilled how old is your baby now?

Well My indian ring neck took the plunge and tried it out so I think Adaya will be next since she and him are good friends. she won't beable to resist the temptation to chase him off of it:laugh:

Adaya I actually got her to the orbit and she put one foot on it and took off for the nearest boing You would thik she would love it its got toys and bell and all the fun things birds like even my indian ring neck thats not afraid of anything usually won't go near it I think Adayamust be teaching him to be catious or something those 2 are the best of friends they play flying tag and chase me all over the house its really fun towatch 2 birds flying at full speed from one room to the next the aerobatics are just crazy I'm waiting for 1 of them to hit the wall or something but they can turn on a dime and fly inthe total oppisite direction withouteven batting an eye. Amazing creatures thats for sure.

You think shes trying to makeyou feel guilty my birds are experts at it I get no no no work from Tyco and from Fergie I get no its not fair. so between the 2 of them I feel like the biggest peice of poop just because I have to make a living so I can keep them in the lap of luxury go figure eh:laugh:

Your not the only one that has done that I found myself on a few occations saying to my birds ok where didyou guys hide my car keys? and then felt like a total idiot when I find them exactly where I put them oh well if It comes with old age and living alone with Mypets then so be it. at least they won't think I've lost my mind and call the men in the white coats to come take me away:laugh:

So I decided since I couldn't afford an Atom right now that I would make an Atom and buy an Orbit. so thats what I did the orbit arrived today I bought it from Ebay for 14.99 is 14inches in diameter so its large my birds won't go anywhere near it. the same with the Atom I made which is really big. So now what does anyone have any Idea how to get the birds to play with their new toys I moved the Atom closer to Tycos cage andshe is looking at it like mabie she might try it but the Orbit There is no way on earth that I can get my birds on to it as soon as I get to close to it with them they fly like its going to eat them or somethin.

Oh yes they bark quite well don't they Tyco has learned dog language quite well. she even know the different barks for different things like if is a playful bark she says you wanna play or if its a bark to comein she say Gloria wants in its quite amazing.
