2. Isn't it wonderful when they start talking your ear off. Tyco has to be in on every coversation it seems these days. See what you have to look forward too. Check in more often we miss you.
3. I think Judy said all there is to say one this subject. The box definatly has to go. AH that sweet that Mazy loves you so much and why shouldn't she look at all the wonderful things that you have givin her. That tree is just awesome I'm trying to build a tree stand for my fids as well but I'm possitive its not going to be anything near what you have for your birds. I also have female Grey's 1 is 6yrs old and the other just a baby and I;m sure I will also have to deal with these issues one day also. I am going through the samething with my 12 yr old Amazon at the moment and this year was the worst as far as raging hormones go. She made a huge hole in my wall above my kitchen cabnets. Which I covered with a peice of sheet metal so she can't do it again. I know how yo feel when their danceing and gurging and displaying their love for you. Like Judy said you really have to ignore it. I couldn't even touch my Amazon in anyway for awhile because she just got to excited thank goddness she's finally getting back to her old self again and I can scritch her little head without getting gurged on.lol Good luck with Mazy I do hope thing get back to normal soon for you.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/18 20:25
4. Ahhhh Sams in love he just told you Ilove you in birdy language. Judy's right he paid you the highest compliment that a bird can share with you. {Love-00020118}:woohoo:
5. Happy happy Hatchday Tobe you better tell mom to make it super speical for you tomorrow to make up for her bad memory and keeping yo locked in your cage all day long on your hatchday. Tell her you want a carrot muffin and a new Atom and mabie a cargo net and and and......:laugh:
6. When you have 5 birds you can never have enough places for your birds to play. and your right they are very spoilt. I stopped getting bird so now I'm buying bird stuff instead gotta keep them all happy.
7. I Made it out of 1 inch non metalic conduit hose becase the hose has ridges in it the birds don't slip. and its all made out of plastic so its safe for birds even if they chew on it. I used regular pvc fittings to hold the hose together and sisle rope to make the Atom shape it wasn't hard at all to make. only took a couple hours to pt it all together the one I made is really big but I figure bigger is better. I'm going to get them the Atom from mother pluckers butI wanter to make sure it wasn't going to be a waste of money so I testing out mine to see if the birds will enjoy something like this first and by the looks of things at least 2 so far have taken a likeing to it and Tyco is eyeing it up also looking like she's ready to get on it also. So they will be getting another Atom soon one that I bought instead of a diy one. :laugh:
8. Ok so there are 2 only 1 is very very short she saw the camera and flew to me.
9. I am about as happy as any bird owner can be right now. "MY BIRDS ARE GOING TO GET THEIR MOTHER PLUCKERS ATOM!!" I found a site in Canada that sells them for just a little more than in the usa If I ordered from Motherpluckers and had it shipped from there it would cost me double the price around 300. but If I order it in Canada it will only cost 205. plus shipping and handleing big difference. If anyone else is interested in the Atom that live in Canada the site to buy it from is http://www.parrotdiseperch.com/parrot/shop.php?cat=12

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/16 20:40
10. Most Greys like very cold water i usually just use room tempature. 2or3 times a week is a good amoumt to bath them and the wetter you can get them the better. A treat will probubly help if he's mad to calm him down a bit. if your consistant with the bathing he will get used to it and may even end up likeing it or at very least tolerate it. keep doing what your doing your a good parront.
11. I was just thinking about what you said about Pepper being absolutly terrified of her harrness so I was just thinking mabie if you don't want to cage her you could try a teather which is just a light weight slip knot around her leg at least that way she can't go any where get yourself a nice strip a veggatable tanned leather or a thin peice of nylon rope and make a small noose to put around her ankle just make sure it not to long or too tight she may except that better.
12. You do have to watch that they don't overheat I know whenI take Adaya in the car I always have a bottle of water handy just to cool her down. I just pour a little water in the palm of my and and give her a pet with the water don't want to soak her in case theis a draft some where with the windows open a little so I usually just get her damp and its enough to keep her cool. I took Adaya to my Grandsons first birthday party they had it in a hall and catered it with kids party caterers there was 25 kids and all their parents there. Adaya did awesome every one just loved her I was suprized that there was at least 6 people there that had some kind of Parrots for pets. I treat Adaya like yo treat Willis and try to take her everywhere with me. I don't take her to work with me. I guess I could but I'd be to afraid someone would steel her out of my car. I work for a personal corrier service so I'm in and out of my car all the time and most of the time my hands are full so she would have to wait in the car and thats what scares me. But every where else I go she come also. I think its good for them to understand about different things and people that way when they grow up they are used to constant change and are not afraid of it. I just bought an aventure pack travel cage so mabie on quiet nights at work she could come with me if I can put her on my back the my hands are still free to carry other thing. I'll have to see how it goes anyway. She just hates it when I leave her at home she is so spoilt. They sure are easy to love aren't they. {Love-000200D8}
13. Just wondering if there has been any changes in the situation. please keep us updated I will keep praying for a happy ending.
14. Well I will be waiting on pins and needles til tomorrow I can't wait to see if he's accepted the other new toy, and picture, and all that stuff. I just think its wonderful that this little guy is getting some attention and love even if its not from his owner she should just let you take him home with you. I bet you could have him turned around in no time.
15. Char I think if you look on this link they sell a all white orbit or at http://motherpluckinbirdtoys.com/ take a look

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/15 22:20
16. Which is which I love the dance what a cutie they look like they feel really good after their bath
17. Its only been a week or so since I got Adaya her new orbit and hung it up beside her cage and this morning she actually was playing on it for about 15 minutes. And yesterday she was playing on the Atom I made so I'm very happy that I didn't waste my time and money. {Feel-good-000200BB}
18. I agree if your going to be camping and doing lots of outdoor activity's and want to include every member of the family then you have to make it comfortable for them. I treat my birds like my children also. if I was going camping for 3 days I definatly would not want my bird to have to be in a tiny travel cage I think the one you bought is just perfect for that knd of thing. I'm glad I don't have a man around to tell me how I should or should not treat my birds and If I did I'm afraid he would be gone long before I treated my birds any differently than I do They are my children as far as I'm concerned and they will be around long after any man I might have is dead and gone. So they deserve the very best while I'm still able to give it to them. I don't think theres a man alive that would put up with my birds unless he was a total bird lover like myself so I;ll stay single until I meet the right man. My ex husband can't stand the noise they make even though its only in the morning. so after 27 years of marrage we are no longer together suits me fine.:laugh:
19. I need one of those Tyco does the same thing when she has a bath/shower where did you buy it Iwant one.
20. Mabie he was just having a bad day. or mabie he was having to much fun with you and didn't want anybody interupting I know if Adaya and I are haveing Quality time together and someone disturbs us she gets really mad and dive bombs them and chases them away around here its usually the dogs or another bird. It sounds to me like he just didn't feel like visiting and wanted it to be just you and him today. I could be wrong we will have to wait and see how he reacts the next time people come over mabie you got yourself a little guardbird who needs a dog when you have a parrot hahaha:laugh:

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/15 20:35
21. Hahaha She sure knows how to get what she wants doesn't she sorryto here about the water bottle getting broken. I feel really stupid this mmorning My daughter is in grade 8 and she had exams this morning and Me and her just slept though both of them now I'm going to have to phone the school and see if they can find the time to let her take her exams I feel like such a dufus.
22. I was hopeing that it would work for you because I have a Macaw that is very cage protective he is a rescue and was locked in his cage in a room all by himself for many years aparently his previos owner develped a severe alergy to him after her cancer treatments and instead of rehoming him she locked him away and only went in there to give him a bowl of seeds and water and that was it for at least 5 years so to say the least I have mywork cut out for me. He is getting better and better all the time I must say he's very sweet and is allowing scritches on his terms and once in a very long while he will even step off his cage and onto my shoulder. He has pretty much stopped any hard biting now but still beaks me when he gets nervous. I thought if your sleep cage worked I would try it with him but now I'm reluctant would not want him to start attacking over a new cage. he's already got one that I can't get him away from.
23. I doesn't sound like you ahve much to worry about Adaya will somtimes get a loose feather stuck to her beak after she finishes a long preening session. When you see her dilibertly pulling out or chewwing off her feathers thats when to start worrying about it

25. I have an albino Hedgehog and a couple years ago I raised a baby squirrel that had fallen from its nest. The squirrel still lives in my back yard but I did turn him loose after he was weaned. as for the hedge hog his name is Reggie and he actually belongs to my daughter but she moved out 3 months ago and I still have her Hedgehog they are really cute also but they too are nocternol so the only time I see him is when I come home from work 3nights a week at around midnight. I often wondered about sugar gliders as pets we had a ferret once that was just the best pet you could ask for
