Char I'm sure if it was a very deprate situation and your bird needed to see a vet imediatly the vet that is close to you would see your bird even if your bird is not a patient No Vet is going to let an amimal suffer just because he doesn't normaly see them. I think in an emergency any vet will do their very best to help.

I was in my room on the computer this morning and Harley was out in the other room hanging out on his cage or so I thought. Well I have 2 very small dogs one is 8LB shith-zu the other is a 5 lb pappion all of a sudden my pappion runs in and jumps up on the bed barking his head off I said what do you have to go outside still continued to bark so I got up and he raced into the dinning room where Harley is and then back to me so I went and took a look there Was Gloria my Shith-zu keeping an Eye on Harley while TC came to get me Harley was off his cage sitting on my beautiful natural wood framed window sill. THe dogs felt it was their duty I guess to let me know that Harley wasn't on his cage anymore. What good little Fid sitters I have.

Ah poor Annabelle she didn't want to go to the vet now she's sulking LOL She will be right as rain in no time back to giving you all kinds of trouble. I had one of my rescues a long time ago that hated me I tryed everything with that bird and I had his beak rounded because he would draw blood everyday my arms are so scared because of him. I finally had to accept defeat and rehome him he was wonderful with her he just hated me. oh well. any way I'm so glad that Annabelle is healthy and thats the main thing.

Wow your mother intuition was working good yesterday that's grey't that you got there before disaster struck. i always keep rope toys trimmed of loose threads they can get themselves into trouble so easily. I'm sorry your Blatter is giving you so much trouble. Mine has been acting up also latley i just got over a doosy urinary track and blatter infection boy are the painful. Get well soon you have to take care of your health you've got fids to look after.

Oh my she's just as cute as cute can be I just love the smiles on baby parrots faces for that matter even when Macaws are older they still smile Harley my Harlequin Macaw puts his head on my chest and looks up at me with the biggest smile on his face and he 5 years old. Pebbles is so sweet you must be in seventh heaven. Don't forget Faby's need allot of sleep you can't be playing with her all the time. I sure would be having trouble putting her down. -
Thats grey't that you have found a way that your Grey loves to bath

I have a 6yr and up until she came to live with was quite the scardy cat. Now she excepts thing fairly readily or maybe just trusts me enough that she takes m word for it. when I get her something new I tell her excactly what it is and what its for and then I tell her to be brave that it won't hurt her and that mommy would never give her anything that would hurt her. and usually within an hour or 2 she will check it out. She does love people when new people come into the house she gets very animated and wants them to talk to her. mind you I have seen her shy away from some people but I think she senses somthing with these people that she doesn't like just like dogs now who's good and who's not its the same with birds. That said I think that the more they understand the less fearful they become and I think that its important to teach your bird as much as you can about everything. My baby Grey is still learning and hopefully by the time she is Tyco's age she will be as open to new things and people as Tyco is.

I gave his some scrambled eggs the other day he doesn't seem to like soft mushy things. I also made some mashed yams my other birds just love them he didn't hardly touch more than a bite. He does like Cheese though he gobble that up no problem. That what I bribe him with to get him into his cage I put a tiny piece of cheese in his dish and he just can't resist a then when he goes into get it I close the door. If i don't do it that way it take me a good 1/2 hour to get him into his cage he makes a game out of it and I can't help but laugh. he climbs down the side of his cage like he going to go in and then he will put his head under my chin and rub his face all over my face and chest then look up at me with a big smile on his face I can't get mad at him he's just to darn cute. He's so gentle with that beak of his he nibbles on my chin and whispers have you ever heard a bird whisper its the cutest thing he doesn't say any thing he just whispers. Sometimes I will let him play but when I have to go to work I don't have time so cheese works really well to get him into his cage quickly.

Oh how wonderful you must be so happy to have her home. She is such a cute little Faby I just want to pick her up and snuggle her to bits. I'm going to miss her pics I have to go to work. oh well I will check them out as soon as I get home at midnight. I can't wait! Have fun with your baby tonight. -
When I first got Harley he would eat everything and anything he could get his beak on. I guess because is old owner would only feed him bulk parrot mix twice a day 1/4 cup each time and then when he finished she would take his food away so he wouldn't dump the dish and so when he came here he couldn't believe all the food he was getting and nobody takes it away from him he always has pellets and fiesta seed mix and human grade walnuts brazil nuts and almonds. My problem is now that he has been with me for awhile he doesn't touch his seeds and nuts he Loves his fruits vegetables and leafy green he likes to mix them in with his pellet he chews them into small pieces and then munches the pellets with the veggies. I know that Macaws need extra fat in their diet and that's why they need to eat nuts but Harley's not eating his nuts or his seed mix. Is this bad for him is there enough fat contents in his fruits and veggie and pellets to keep him healthy?

I tried Harrison I really wanted to switch my birds From Zupreem fruity to Harrison's. my birds absolutely refused to eat them they love their Zupreem fruity and my vet said that they are the next best to harrison's so I shouldn't worry My vet carries Harrisons and she still recommends Zupreem which she doesn't carry so as long as my birds continue to eat them they will get Zupreem pellets.

Oh he is absolutly the cutest faby I just love Amazons they can be really noisy but their personality's make up for it. My Amazon is the sweetest bird in the world she never bites she just fusses a bit when she doesn't want to do somthing. Your so lucky to have him home all ready now the fun begins. I know you must be over the moon. The first night I brought Harley home I was so excited I couldn't sleep You must be feeling that way also I know I would be.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/08/08 21:11

I was looking at some of Jeepers picture's tonight and I cannot beleive how much he has changed since he has been with me. It's just amazing what a little love can do. This Picture was Jeepers the day before I brought him home. This picture was taken about 5 months ago after I'd had him for about 5 months This last picture is of him 2 or 3 weeks ago. Isn't it amazing how totally different he looks. I was so shocked when i looked these pictures beside each other the color and shine of his feather just shows you how healthy he is compared to when I first got him.

Adayas like that also I have to watch her every second she picked up my key to the mailbox one day and I haven't been able to find it since she has this thing for key rings she carries them off and then drops them. she can never remember where though:unsure:  and then It takes me a month to find them.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/08/08 00:15
