So far 2 boys now I'm very curious to find out what Charlie is going to be I guess you'll have to call her Charlotte Charlie for short if she/he turns out to be a girl.

That's so grey't that Jim is fitting in so well that's wonderful news I like the way he touches your nose and say gimme a kiss with the little bop sound also its very cute how he likes to dance also. its sounds to me like Jim is a very happy fellow to have landed in your home. Keep the updates coming I just love to here about the adventures your birds are having.

Oh wow he's coming into himself beautifully what a pretty bird he is getting to be. He still has a few paint brushes on his tail but by the looks of things in another couple days they will be gone. his wings are beautiful I love how shiny and black they are so is s/he male or female I sure love that face he looks so different from when he was just a little tiny guy wow just really pretty thank you so much for sharing all the pictures with us its been a real treat to watch this little guy grow and develop into a gorgeous Big bird.

I don't think that your a bad parent your fast reaction to get her to the Vet was a good choice. I do think though from now on that you should leave the grooming of her beak and nails to a professional I won't even do my own grooming and I'm a experienced bird owner for me its not worth maybe hurting my birds to save 10 or 15 dollars to have an Avian vet clip their nails and trim their beaks or wings if needed that way if something happens I don't have to blame myself and I know the birds are in good hands. it was a expensive lesson for you to learn $115. to save $20. probably not the smartest thing to do but hey live and learn.

I bought the Adventure pak about 6or7 months ago and Tyco is no small bird at 579 gr she refuses to this day to get into it. Its fine for Fergie and Adaya they are both around 430 grams but for any bird much bigger than that the cage is useless I paid $270. for mine after shipping exchange rate and duty. thats more than I paid for Adaya's huge cage that she lives in. Thank goodness I have another travel cage that light weight and big enough that Tyco doesn't mind it at all I can't put it on my back but it is light enough to pack around. I had no trouble getting mine at all got it within a week after I ordered it and I've only used it once for my Amazon Adaya uses her harness when we go out. and like I said I bought it for Tyco so she could get some fresh air and enjoy walks with Adaya and I and so for me the Adventure pack was a total waste of almost 300.

Hi we're practicly neighbours I live in the Fraser Valley in British Columbia so we are only about a 2 hour drive from each other what a beautiful little baby you have there I have 2 Congo's one that I rescued a couple years ago. The other a baby that I've raised from 5 weeks old. She was hatched on Feb7,2009. Welcome to our family you have quite the collection Pets at your house. oh yea I almost forgot I have a Papillon also. I have 3 dogs and 6 birds and I wouldn't want to be without any of them. I look forward to seeing more pics of Tango and hearing all about him when he comes home and also while your still visiting him.

Thank you for telling me the meaning of his name now I like it even more and I think it suits him perfectly.

To change Harley's name I just don't like the name Harley for such a proud Regal bird. Harley just seems like a name that has absolutely no thought behind it its kinda like calling a Dalmatian Spot. So the more time I spend with him the more I think his name should be Darius. I would definatly start putting him in another room when people come over it sounds like he's getting stressed out about strangers in and around his flock. I don't know if you baby would pick it up of not. I have an Amazon and she gets very very loud at time and Tyco tells her to be quiet but never chose to imitate her neither has my baby Grey. MY Ring neck that a different story he even sounds like Fergie(YCA) when he talks and says all the same things that Fergie says in between here screams. So you never know if the sound of your Conure appeals to your baby Grey than there is a good chance he will copy him. covering the cage is not a good way to teach because he may start to think bedtime is a bad thing putting him in a different room is a much better way.

Wow what a pretty Grey. I have a rescue Grey and when I got her she was only 4 but in that shot for years she had 3 different owners and was very abused and neglected by her last owner he had her for about a year. Apparantly Tyco also prefered men and it took a long time for me to gain her trust everyday I worked with her I would step her up onto a perch and then transfer her to my arm and everyday it got easier. she will step up from anywhere now except from the top of her cage I still have to use a perch and then transfer her to my hand. it took 7 months for her to allow me to give her scritches. and to actually trust and love me. I guess she was waiting to see where she was going to go next. I've had her for 2 years now and she is definatly my bird. but she doesn't really have a choice since there is only me or my young teenage daughter. Shes not a real affectionate bird but she does like to play and interact she likes to reach out with her foot to grab my hand or shirt and then she likes it when I rub the pads on the bottom of her feet she loves to give me kisses and she likes scritches also but will only except them before bed. I have learned what she likes and what she doesn't and these things all take time. Don't worry you will have a place with him and he will show you what is fine and what isn't he may choose your husband as his favorite person but that does not mean that you can't have a place in his life as well.

Ah poor baby doesn't like his bath neither does Tyco she much prefers the shower but I have been persistant and I must say she is getting better at least she will actually stay on top of her cage now where as when I first started she would cower behind it and hide. She does like to bath/shower so I guess since she not getting taken to the shower any longer she figures this is the only way she's going to get wet and she's right.

That a wonderful tree what lucky birdy you have I started to build one similar to that but I haven't finished it because now I got Harley and I'm running out of space to put new things. I going to have to get rid of the furniture soon just to accommodate all the toys and play gyms for the birds. :laugh: My kids all ready say my house looks like a giant playground for birds. Oh well I love to watch them play and have fun who needs furniture anyway:laugh: :woohoo:

how old is Harvey and how is he towards you?

you should never stop a feeding until the bird is totally refusing that feeding go back to 2 feedings a day and when she starts refusing to whole feeding thats when to drop that feeding and not until no matter how old she is all birds wean at different ages some don't wean until 20 to 25 weeks it depends on the baby and when its ready to stop its not up to you its up to the bird. offer lots of differnt kinds of veggies and fruits lots of different textures. for your baby to chew on and go back to 2 feedings a day.

They really are so ugly cute when they first hatch aren't they they look like little pterodactyl's dinosaurs don't they. They Grow so quick into the most gorgeous creatures on the face of the earth. Its quite amazing how something that looks like a blob of clay almost. transforms into something beautiful. just like an artist starts out with a blob of clay. I guess God does the same with the birds. and all of us for that matter.

He's growing quickly he's starting to get Quite good looking. has he started trying to talk or mimic anything yet? I won't be long now he will have all his feathers and look just like a grown up bird. He getting very pretty. How old is he now?

Look it how cute they are little baby Harley is playing peek a boo for the camera. Adaya still lands on my head but she is getting better. she know I don't want her up there so she is starting to land on my shoulder. I just kept putting my arms up when she started flying towards me so she would land on my hand or arm instead of my head you could start shaking your head also so its an unsafe perch and that might help

You thinking about getting one. They are so precious I know you would just love it they are very special birds. So different from the smaller ones yet the same also its hard to explain. I guess it just the size when they lay on their backs in your arms like a baby its like having a human baby in your arms and they just love having their feet and tummy tickled they really like to be touched and hugged and cuddled The pads on the bottom of his feet are so soft he likes me to rub his feet for him

Make sure the air conditioning in the car isn't to cold for him and if you don't have air conditioning you may want to wet the baby a bit so S/he doesn't over heat. Grapes I find are a good fruit to take along because they are mostly water maybe an orange slice Or 2 or apple. If you don't mind me asking why are you meeting at a restaurant instead of at the breeders house is she meeting you half way or something.

I have 2 small dogs and 1 large dog my Shih Tzu mothers the birds and if the fly off their playstand she will stay very close to them so noone steps on them by accident she will bark until someone comes and picks them up to put them back. My Pappion will help her if I'm else where in the house he will come and bark like crazy until I follow him and see whats wrong and there will be Gloria guarding the bird. Just to make sure nothing happens to it she's a real mother hen:laugh: My large dog Is ok around the birds but he is mostly out doors anyway. He prefers it out doors he comes in around 11pm and goes out around 8am so I don't really have any problems. a German Shepard x boxer I would say you will have to keep an eye on hopefully if you get him as a puppy and grows up around the birds he will be ok with them I would definitely let your birds wings grow out so he can escape if need be.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. Jooles he is as gentle as a lamb with that beak. They really like to have their beaks touched and held he likes to hold my finger in his mouth while I rub his beak and face with my other hand. He is very sweet and loving bird. His favorite thing to do is lay in my arms like a baby on his back and and get tummy & beaky rubs. I have never met a bird quite like him and I can't believe I waited so long to get one he's so smart and so sweet every bird lover should experience one of these gentle giant at least once in there lives. If you know someone that's got one get to know him or her they are just the best birds next to African Grey's of course

You can bath your baby it will help to get them used to it early I started bathing Adaya really early in the bathroom sink because she was such a messy eater. Baby greys are quite clumsy so you will want to keep perches down low and put a couple of nice thick towels over the grate cover them with news paper so they don't get dirty so fast. every week move the perches up a little at a time until they are at there proper level.
