Tyco Talks in my Daughters voice when she is asking for something. she talks in voice if she is telling the dogs no barking or go lay down and she definatly laughs like me and uses my mannerisms.

Jen go have a great time Lyric will hardly realize your gone and you will be home again. I'm not really one to talk though I'm just like you I haven't been anywhere away from my birds since I got Fergie about 8 yrs. Gosh just saying that kinda makes me think I should take some time for myself. I did go Camping about 5 years ago but I took Fergie with me at that time she was my only large bird I had 2 budgies also but they where not tame. But Since I got the other birds I have not gone anywhere. I couldn't bare to leave them for any length of time even though I know my Daughter would gladly come and stay here while I was gone and take very good care of them. Maybe next year.

How many times a day do you hand feed him. If he is on 3 a day he may be getting ready to cut him to 2 a day is his crop emptying well between feedings? If he's on 2 feedings he may be getting ready to cut down to 1 a day. Just make sure he has lots of variaty of different types of foods in his cage and watch him to see how much he's eating. Do you have a scale. he should be weighed every morning before breakfast and after his big poop. during fledging they can lose up to 10% of his weight but you should still moniter and chart his weight to make sure it start to level out and stay consistant during and after he is weaned. Sory for rambling I get carried away sometimes.

I guess she doesn't want to mess up her drinking water so the water on the bottom makes a good soup pot that cute this way she can throw doing as many as she wants to eat and doesn't have to keep going back and forth to her water dish pretty smart of her actually

I phoned the Spca and the humane sociaty anyway even though I haven't seen my vet yet. I told them about Harley and I told them that the birds look healthy because she sprays them all the time because they spend alot of time outside so they get hot and need to cool down. I told them to check their keel bone and breasts of the bird and then they could tell how skinny they are. I also told them that I was taking Harley to the vet on Tue and would show the a vet report from my vet. They said that they could go check them out but as longs as the birds had food and water there is not much they could do. They did say that a letter from a Qualified Avian Vet would help to start an investigation into this. So I guess I'm going to have to wait until Tuesday.

What a sweet little baby I love that little mouth and look at all the sweet baby down fluff what a cutie I look forward to seeing pictures and video's as he grows I bet he's going to be one very handsome fid. I don't know much about these birds are the mostly fruit eaters like the Tocan or do they eat the same things parrots eat? how big will he get? Sorry for all the questions Ijust love learning about different species of birds and how they are different from parrots. How old are they when the wean on average?

I will If I can ever get in to see her apparently she had an emergency this morning and has to reschedule my appointment so now i have to wait until Tuesday to get in to see her.

wow I guess he does love all his toys he's in Grey heaven

It wonderful that she is settleing into the household nicely. She really is a pretty Grey. Keep us updated and don't forget the pictures.
-
Oh yes they do If I have my way with the help of a note from my vet those birds will be out of there. She will have to take some classes on how to take care of birds before she ever sees those birds again.
-
Thats so funny I have accidently walked out of the house with poop on me also. Not to often though I try to check before I go out to make sure. There are time though that I have been in a hurry and not checked and sure enough theres poop. you can check a 100 times and nothing and then the time you don't check sure enough someone will tell you that there's bird poop running down the back of your shirt. {Feel-good-0002006E}

I made an appointment with the vet for this Friday as soon as I felt his keel protruding like that. I figure if I have a vet to back me when I report that woman I have a better chance of helping the other birds. the birds look healthy because they have feathers covering their bodys anyone that doesn't know about birds is going to walk in there and walk back out. I want something in writing from my vet so those birds will get the help they need. I don't think Harley is sick he's vocal and happy and active but he definatly eats he eats until his crop is full I've never seen that with my birds since they where babies I guess right now he just wants to make sure he's not going to be hungry. I feel so sorry for him. No wonder he has bonded to me so quickly I feed him all this wonderful food he's never had before. He lays on his back on my lap that's unheard of after only having a bird 10 days. I guess he sees me as his savior

Oh she's as cute as a button Thats a great name for a Hahn Macaw because they think they are the size of a Green wing. That's a very large bird you have stuffed into a little package. They are great little birds have fun with your new addition. They are just full of personality.

I did ask him and he said theres no string I said to him what should I do maybe I shouldn't except this its a beautiful ring with 4 1kt diamonds he said he doesn't care what I do with it its yours sell it if you want he said Strange. He knows I will never take him back i don't feel that way about him anymore. I don't Know what to do. I could never live with him we don't see Eye to Eye about the birds and they are my first priority after my Daughter. -
Oh I just thought of something what about the 3 other birds she has. I know she has the M2 up for sale for 1000. but the other 2 she is keeping DYH and a IRN. these poor birds are dyeing a slow agonizing death giving them just barely enough food to keep them alive. Should I call the SPCA or the Humane Society. No wonder Harley would bite her I'd bite her too. The night I brought Harley home I let him out of the carrier on top of his cage. Then I wasn't sure how I was going to get him to go into it. I filled up his dishes with all kinds of food and that bird couldn't get into the cage fast enough he literally gobbled everything I gave him and continued to do that for the first 3or4 days it was like he was afraid he would never eat again. But now I understand this poor bird was starving. its just so awful. Talk about abuse to the max

My husband and I have been seperated for 2 yrs now. I like how things are and have no intentions of going back to him. We didn't have a bad marriage or anything like that I just didn't want to be with him any more. I was very shocked when I recieved a birthday present the other day and it was a 4 kt diamond ring he said its because he never gave me a nice ring when we got engaged so he got one for me now. Do you think he's trying to tell me something. -
Well at least you know Smokey can talk pretty soon you will be looking for the on and off switch. life will never be the same again Forget ever watching a good movie in the same room with your bird and try haveing a conversation on the phone whenyour Grey is yaking its head off and you can't remember what you were going to say because he keeps interupting your train of thought.

Harley let me touch his chest for the first time a couple minutes ago. I cannot believe how skinny he is his keel bone has no fat or muscle at all I'm really kinda worried now I've never felt anything like that before no wonder he was gobbling his food the poor boy was literally starving to death. Do you think I should give him a supplement I have some prime vitamins for birds and do you think red palm oil would help him? His keel bone is protruding so far out there is just nothing on either side. I feel sick how can some one do this to such a beautiful bird.OMG I want to cry

He's definatly a pretty bird your luck to have sch an easy going sweetheart.
-
He's a pretty sweet guy alright I just love him so much. No his former owners have not asked about him at all. The day I picked him up she did ask if she could get a couple Pictures of him for her she did take one of him that night but I guess she doesn't have many. when I get a chance so I will do that this weekend for her.
-
I also don't think that's true Greys can make any sound effect or say any word or phrase in the voice of their owner it trully doesn't matter what it is if they want to say something they will Tyco very rarely says her name but she can.

Oh boy do I know what thats like 2 of kids call me the crazy bird lady the other 3 love them as much as I do. When those 2 come over they see all the birds on playstands there are one or two in each room there are bongs.atoms, swings, globes and bird toys everywhere and news paper under each one and the look on there faces when they see this and maybe some chewed up wood on the floor or some seeds from the kicking the out of their dishes that I haven't swept up yet. The next comment is Mom you live in a giant bird cage. I just shrug my shoulders. Then they always seem to call me at 9am when I am just getting the birds uncovered and they want their breakfast and of course like all birds theyare very vocal when the first wake up so they are trying to talked to me and the birds are greeting the day. Next thing out of there mouths can't you shut those stupid birds up I can't hear myself think how can you stand that. So I tell them if the called me at 11am instead of first thing in the morning they would be doing this. then I usually say I have to go and feed the birds and say good bye. They will never ever understand the awesomeness of these wonderful of all companions. and I for one will not try to explain it to them because they don't want to hear. My husband that I no longer live with also does not see what I see in my birds. I no longer live with him. I had a bird when I met him 30 years ago and there has always been at least 1 usually 2 birds in our home. They where always smaller birds when the kids where growing up.That was fine with him now i have 6 large bird thats not fine with him so I showed him the door he's still can't get over that I chose my birds over him LOL
