Haaaa I also love the toilet bowl brush description! I always disliked artificial trees, but on hubby's insistance finally switched a few years back. Perfect description though! You just never know what they will fear and it always seems to be things you think they would accept. Timber is the same, scared of innocent things and totally calm about things I think will freak him out. Do you think they are playing mind games with us? Sometimes I do....

It may take some time, so don't give up too soon. It sometimes takes Timber weeks, not days, to adjust to a "new" item. Good luck!

I was wondering if it was possible that something else in the house too (as Talon said), since you were around another grey and didn't react badly. I have allergies also, though not to greys thank God. As you said, you can develop an allergy to something new at any time. Got my fingers crossed for you!

I sure feel for you on the health insurance thing! I have good, affordable care through my employer now, but back in the day, I bought major medical policies with very large deductibles to get by on insurance. That isn't an option under the new program. My dad and mom farmed, and didn't have medical insurance until they qualified for medicare. My brother is a farmer also, and he and his wife have never had medical insurance. I have to say that I really dislike government taking away our choices. Nough said about that though.

Interestingly, Timber's contact call isn't exactly that tune, but some of the tones are spot on!

LOL to the hemlock and "nastier chunky smoothies!" It was great that you found Phenix's Achilles heel. Timber is very picky though he was not wild caught. He will also except peanut butter well so I use it in my bag of tricks as well. Seems I spend a lot more time trying to get healthy stuff past his beak than I did my kids' mouths, who were also picky.

Yes, truth there thanks! I'm pretty good about washing my hands between anything I do and Timber, but that is an excellent reminder
