  1. Timber takes awhile to get used to most things. Unfortunately, a cup of snow doesn't last long enough for him to make the adjustment!
  2. I brought a cup of snow in for Timber to try. He stuck his beak in once, squawked and gave me the "are you trying to poison me?" look...
  3. I don't burn candles, I use a warmer so the wick is not an issue. When I make them I don't even put a wick in.
  4. awwww... pretty baby! Thanks for the pics Glad to hear the two of you are getting along so well. Keep us posted!
  5. Welcome Miranda If I were you I would read the stickys. They cover a lot of useful information about diet, dos and don'ts etc. Ask any questions you may have, someone is always willing to give you whatever help they can
  6. Miranda80 - Hello and welcome! Why don't you start a new thread in the welcome and introduction room so you don't get "lost in the shuffle" in this one?
  7. Hello and welcome to you and your new baby! Timber's cage is very similar to that and it is great. It has some areas that are hard to get to and to clean, but it is very spacious. Post some pics when you get a chance. I'm glad you are taking it easy and not forcing interaction with him. The best thing is to let him set the pace when he gets comfortable. Good luck and God bless
  8. I was wondering the same. I understand the difference between beeswax and soy wax, but are we just talking burning beeswax for light?
  9. Haaaaa good one! Thanks for sharing
  10. I've been leaving mine on constantly since I've owned it.
  11. I totally agree with the previous posts. Timber's interaction with me are pretty stable (I'm the chosen one). With my hubby and son, they have to watch body language carefully to interact with him.
  12. The one I posted is an eden pure knock off. Same principal and same type of technology. I love it. It doesn't get hot an works very well. I've had it at least 8 years now, and feel safe leaving it on when I'm away or in bed.
  13. Neat video, enjoyed it I'm going to try to get a video of Timber "killing" his next artichoke.
  14. I don't know why Timber says his name so much, but he has been doing it since I got him. I've noticed he does it when he wants attention. For instance, when I'm feeding the cats, he will say Timber several times (like he's saying don't forget me). Same when I'm handing out treats and he is waiting for his. He will also say his name when I'm in the other room and he wants me to come back (after contact calling several times). If saying his name doesn't get the resuts he is looking for he moves on to "come here" and other things. They are certainly all individuals that way! I'm not sure what saying his name means to him, but I'd sure like to know! I know he associates "Timber" with himself. When I say it, he always looks, comes toward me, or whistles.
  15. I use this one http://www.amazon.com/Original-SUNHEAT-Electronic-Infrared-Heater/dp/B004TS1V7K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1388868897&sr=8-3&keywords=sunheat+heater I have had no problems with it and there is no smell.
  16. Timber says his name more than he says anything else... He is going on 7.
  17. I totally agree with Muse.. I've bought and sold on Craigslist several times and seen lots of scams.
  18. Breezy knows what he wants and isn't afraid to tell you
  19. Hello and welcome to you and Jake! Loved reading your story and Jake is a beautiful bird. Good luck and God bless
  20. Happy hatchday Louie! That is a beautiful pic of him.
