Glad to hear Escher is OK! My situation is the same. I don't think Timber ever fledged. He makes no attempt to fly at all. He can glide to the floor pretty well, but I've never seen him try to take flight. Got my fingers crossed for the future, but we'll see. From everything I've read here Escher will get better with practice!
I know there are different opinions on this. My experience is like yours. Timber likes to get on top of his cage too, and is higher than I am. He steps up just as readily and doesn't bite more readily when on top of the cage. In fact, when he goes to the top and comes over to where I am on the edge, it is my signal to come get him.
Nice going! Timber still fights going in his, even after all sorts of maneuvers getting him "used" to it. Still, when I need to take him out we manage, and I'm hoping that as time passes he will like it more.
I leave my light on for 10-12 hours a day. To be effective, Timber has to be within about 18 inches of it. He moves around a lot and spends a lot of time "out of range." I figure I have to leave it on a long time for him to get a benefit from it.
Same here as monax. I am Timber's chosen one, but he likes to play and interact with my husband. Just a different type of relationship, but a good one.
I know how you feel Nancy. My son is a chemistry major. He goes off on these tangents, "mom, did you know that by altering this molecule..." and proceeds to draw little pictures. Oh joy!
Haaaa I also love the toilet bowl brush description! I always disliked artificial trees, but on hubby's insistance finally switched a few years back. Perfect description though! You just never know what they will fear and it always seems to be things you think they would accept. Timber is the same, scared of innocent things and totally calm about things I think will freak him out. Do you think they are playing mind games with us? Sometimes I do....
Hello and welcome Breezy! I also have a TAG. I rehomed him last year and is it about 6 now. Post some pics of your baby when you have a chance. We love pics!
I was wondering if it was possible that something else in the house too (as Talon said), since you were around another grey and didn't react badly. I have allergies also, though not to greys thank God. As you said, you can develop an allergy to something new at any time. Got my fingers crossed for you!
