  1. Hello OtheG, Glad you finally decided to post, you seem to have a lot going on in your house, having 5 kids at the age of 33 is not easy. I have a 3 year old daughter and she is a lot of trouble lol. But still we love her a lot, i can imagine having 5 of her wow...Please post pics of your CAG. Thanks

    I enjoy it

I give him very small amount of sliced cheddar cheese, almost 5% of it, i guess i have to skip the daily cheese feeding though
  3. Feeding DJ is an extreme pleasure for me. When we wake up every morning and before i eat my breakfast, i go & get DJ out of his cage. He perches on the play-top and immediately starts giving me kisses and bow his head for scratches. I then go to the kitchen and collect some food and back to him. I enjoy giving him food from my hand, he starts his morning with his favorite cheese, then followed by bunch of fresh veggies and then raids his fresh water bowl. Then we exchange a lot of talk and play around the house for half an hour. Although he can be very messy with his eating habits, but it's a joy watching him having fun and waiting anxiously for the type of food i will present to him. He makes my day everyday....
  4. Looks like she is very happy, fly fly Kiki
  5. I third the request, a lot of people buy parrots just because they see them interesting and they don't know it's responsibility + Commitment. The few lines you wrote are a must read by all those who want to get a parrot or a pet. Well said.
  6. That's really good work, Dorian didn't make a sound all through the video!!! lol, i can't believe it.
  7. hahaha, this is awesome and you must be enjoying it. Today and for the first time DJ is trying to say Hello, not clear yet but it will come. Maui is very funny
  8. Hi Mira, is Kookoo better now?
  9. Very nice, he is a stunt parrot lol, wish i can offer my birds a room of their own
  10. Very cool, DJ had 3 small ones and he killed them all. They are at the bottom of the cage somewhere

  12. Oh God, this is terrible! I hope she gets better quickly
  13. Here are the two videos that i made into one:
  14. This is how they keep these poor animals at the Sharjah Bird Market in the UAE. Most of these birds are wild, their diet is only sunflower seeds and there is no water in their dirty/rusted cages  . These are some of the photos i have taken today to share the sadness i feel everytime i go there: This is a CAG that had Orange colored feathers! A wonder! But after all i was lucky to meet some nice parrots that i felt like taking home with me, they were both longing for a scratch: I also met this little friend or FREE SPIRIT: But his friend was in a cage: I have recorded two videos, and then only you will have a feel of how i really felt like. I will upload them shortly.
  15. Well, he is not too thin, but when i got him home, i didn't feel the bone in his chest! Now i can feel it and i guess it's because he didn't want to eat properly. The move was stressful to him and i was trying to change his bad diet. He was offered sunflower seeds and little apple (By the breeder). Now he is eating vegetables and everything else i offer him. The very few breeders we have here are not as good as the ones you have, they are all after making quick money, so they don't pay enough attention to the diet. Sunflower seeds are full of fat and will make a grey look healthy but it's bad for their health on the long term. I will go there today to buy some food for DJ and take some photos of things i saw before. It will break your hearts i guess, but i want to share it with someone since long time back. So i will be back today with a new thread. Me and DJ are bonding a lot i guess. Greys are Greyt
  16. Welcome Jenni, i hope you find the answers you're looking for, this is a great forum and full of nice people
  17. I loved the photos, awesome information, thanks
  18. Wow, he reminds me of my Indian Ring Neck, he does that sometimes and then back to normal again. I also don't know how to stop that, what i do is take him back to his cage and walk away.
  19. That's great, i am learning new things everyday I am happy Hayley is doing well
  20. I think he is a bit thin, i can feel the bone in the middle of his chest! I offer him different food in 3 different bowls, there is a mixed seeds bowl (Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health), one for fresh mixed veggies and the 3rd is for my special treats (Banana, apple,...etc). He was on a very bad diet, the breeder used to feed him Sunflower seeds (Lots of them) and little apple. So i hope he will get better soon. I hope this helps
