  1. I am really glad he is fine, he wasn't harmed in any way. I thank God for that
  2. I think Oscar is a beautiful name! It's a unisex name i guess, it will be hard to change his name after 8 years maybe. Just love him for who he is.
  3. Super cool, i like the last photo most

    Chop Video

That video was very helpful, now i know how to make chop chop for Twix Thanks
  5. Hello, You may have heard the question before, but when should i expect Twix to start taking? I understand some CAGs will never talk as i have been reading a lot, and i also know that some of them will start talking at the age of 4 months only depending on the time you spend with them. I am spending at least two hours a day with him, right after finishing my work. I also talk with him during that time. The only sounds he is making now are the baby whistles, no funny sounds or no imitating of anything yet. I am not disappointed and will never be. My parakeet indian ring neck does speak as he is now 4 year old. Will Twix starts speaking anytime soon? Thanks
  6. Oh they are so beautiful, all of them. I am sure you're having loads of fun with them
  7. It's out already and he is now playing as usual, will never ever use the tube again....i love him
  8. The tube that comes at the end of the plastic feeder, tried to get it out but no way. Will it come out alone or go to the vet as soon as they are available? This is very urgent and i am worried about him.
  9. My Twix is almost 5 months old, he will do every noisy thing you can imagine when he wants to go out. Especially when i come back home from work. I always let him out, but when it's sleeping time i will cover his cage and i won't hear him anymore. Like some members already said, he didn't chose to be with you, and we all have responsibility towards these lovely birds. Patience is always required. I have my other Parakeet for 4 years now and been through a lot with him, put the pleasure of having his company after a hard working day is worth all the hassle i may get from him sometimes. I love my birds
  10. Yeah i am working on the boob problem, but no luck yet! He just love the carpet. What i find strange about Twix is that he runs quickly towards my hands when i call him (On his feet) and when he reaches my hand, he will shake his beautiful red feathers and greet my hand in a very funny way with his beak. I'm loving him more everyday, and waiting to see the best yet. Greys are far better than Indian Ringneck Parakeets. I have both now anyways, but my Parakeet is very moody and doesn't play as much.
  11. Hi, Twix is bathing once a week, he sits in the bathtub and enjoys a thin layer of warm water. After maybe 5 minutes or so, he will have enough and wants to move on. Then i put him in a small towel and he doesn't like that btw, but i have to move him from the tub to the stand i fixed especially for him in the bathroom. He then sits on the stand and really enjoys the warm breeze of the blow dryer! He doesn't mind sitting there for as long as it takes, i talk to him and pet him a lot. I then move him to the hall where we play for an hour almost, he is always more active after bathing and likes to play with different toys. The question is: Is using the blow dryer safe? This is a photo of him right after the bath: Thank you for your replies in advance.
  12. Very kind of you to take him in and give him some love
  13. That's nice i do just the same with TWIX. He too enjoys the bathing time. I will take some photos and post them later
  14. Hi The connection between me and Twix is growing everyday, i am surprised how CAGs can be very attached to their owners and i love it that way! Twix likes to stay next to me no matter where i am, he follows me around the house. He does not give attention to my wife or my daughter at all!!! If i talk or even sneeze he will whistle or make some noise immediately. I think he believes i am his mother or something "lol" being the one who is hand feeding him everyday maybe. I am happy that i bought him and i can't wait to see what else he will show me. Thanks for reading Ismail
  15. Hey chezron, I am glad you liked Dubai (No other place like it!). I have noticed that Twixs favorite spot for pooping is my favorite carpet! lol, i am now covering the carpet with a plastic sheet when he's out for some fun. I guess i have to live with it or relocate the carpet. It is comforting when i hear that others are having the same issues my parrot has
  16. Ok then, will keep doing this until he stops. What sort of veggies you recommend?
  17. Well, i am still hand feeding him! Trying to stop that and force him to eat the fruit & seeds mix i bought him and he doesn't seem to accept it! He is eating the fresh fruits i give him also, but not the mixed food i bought. is there a reason behind that? His cage is big and interesting, gets out of his cage most of the time and gets to play with me and my 3 year old daughter, not stressed at all.
  18. Hello everyone, My name is Ismail and i am a new owner of a 4 months old CAG! I have been reading for almost a month now about CAGs and how to take care of them. Learned a lot, especially from you guys My TWIX is so playful and loving, got him from a pet store and spending loads of time with him/her! I am not sure if he is a male or a female yet, the vet should be able to tell me soon i guess. Twix is pooping outside his cage and i am trying hard to teach him not to, but no luck so far. The joy of communicating and playing with him can make me clean all he wants after him I will welcome all your advises and comments so i can be a more responsible owner of the great CAG. Thanks for having me here Ismail
  19. Hi Clare, It's nice of you to keep it at home safe with you. A friend of mine and his wife are interested in having one. If you still have it, please let me know. Thanks Ismail
