I totally agree that you cant make them like anyone but ... dont give up Im sure to some degree if your bf keeps trying and has patience, he could still have some sorta relationship with your bird. hang in there!~

so I have to ask ... why cover him back up? :confused: If you are that worried or if that could be the cause? I dont cover Marco's cage at all ... she sleeps very well.

ok so I watched last nite Marco holds herself with her right foot and eats/plays with the left.... sleeps on left foot with right raised and steps up using either leg depending on which hand I put in the cage ............... :eek: is that funny? I did it over n over again ... I used my right hand she stepped left, i used my left hand she stepped right ... :eek: omg whats that mean LMAOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no advise really either about more then 1 bird tho I really would like to have just 1 more (how many times have ya'll said that ... I'll stop with just 1 more) I dont do it because I dont know if I really can ... love the pics! glad to hear ya'll are adjusting so well together!

Im sure ... if you just give it a few more days there will be lots of advise coming your way with helpful suggestions on what to do for your baby. I guess (for now) I am lucky that Marco will atleast step up and go to my hubby but she always watches where Im at (which I think is funny) some times she throws a little protest to step up to him and nips him but he wont back down and i think shes really just resided to the fact she might as well cuz he aint going away til she does LOLOLOL !!!!!!!! definately keep having eric try, have him talk to her quietly, and try best he can to interact. my hubby puts marco to bed and gives her treats that is "their time together". I think as far as the screaming .. .gosh all I can tell you is ive seen ppl say patience ... and LOTS of it ... whether its ignoring or whatever you choose to do, stick to it! have you tried maybe a cover over the cage? Ive only had marco 8 months and havent had any type of problems like this so those are my only suggestions. I can tell you my 2 grown children however Marco does not like nor will she step up or go to them infact ... she tries to attack any time they try to touch her so they just stopped trying.

I learned pretty quick while allowing marco to play behind my head to be VERY leary she crawled up on my head and before I could scoot her off she leaned down and snatched my earing out of my ear !!!!!!! it happened SO fast anddddddddd it not only hurt me but she had the ONE part of my earing in her beak so I freaked out so now we dont allow head or shoulder no matter how much she insists lol cant wait to see pics of the baby!

hiya and welcome Odin sounds like a great new addition to your family! I have a flight harness for Marco and I bought like an extention so she can fly further distances. but I find typically she doesnt "fly" unless an upward thrust of my hand otherwise she just likes to hang out with me in the sunshine outside. tho, she has been spooked once outside by a noise and Im SO thankful she had her harness on! I got the red so it was easily seen!

yeah!!!!!!! I find that I do the same thing with Marco I can just sit and watch her for hours work a toy or just sit atop her cage on her perch making soft whistles with her eyes closed ( i need to get that on video it just warms my heart to watch )

lots of ways to sneak in the "greens" from birdie bread to chop ... to toys ... you'll figure it out! and welcome!!!

the only thing I can tell you is the ONLY way to know the sex of the bird for sure is by blood test (I think its where they take a feather) so if you have your heart set on only a boy make sure you have the test done..... I wanted a boy too but once I bonded with Marco for 11 weeks and found out she was a girl ... it just didnt matter at that point! I was already addicted to her :D

heh ... very interesting now Im going to have to go home and watch Marco I think shes a rightie ... but I could be wrong I know Ive seen her definately use both for when shes perches but I think she steps right and maybe plays with right ... I'll have to check it out ... shes right at 10mo old now (god I cant believe it) and shes stuck on peek a boo and tickle tickle as her fun words for the time being LOL

funny ... marco hasnt done that yet but when the dogs get to yipping/barkin .... SO DOES SHE :-| blah! and I have lil tiny dogs so its yip yip yip yip

well lil miss marco took care of exactly 1 red tail feather ... I tried not to freak out when i saw it in her lil foot after she had gnawed it out but she hasnt done that to ANYthing else just that 1 lone feather ... so I didnt know if it was giving her grief and that was like 2 weeks ago and nothing since ...

out of ALL the feathers on a grey .. can they pin point just 1 feather that might be causing them discomfort and "take care of it"?

Marco on occasion has ran up my arm to avoid going in the cage but typically she doesnt fuss much by the time she gets put in the cage she knows its dark and its bedtime. We tell her that too every night "time to go to bed or its night night time" she doesnt throw a fit "Yet" :confused: Im sure its only a matter of time perhaps til she can vocalize her dislike LOL When shes uptop of her playstand I have to use a long perch to get her down cuz im a shorty ... and sometimes she'll bite at it and try to toss it out of my hand and refuse to step up on it but she usually complies after a few minutes.

I think somewhere I read that they would NOT over eat no matter what you put out there for them even tho it looks like they are. Marco has seeds/pellets in her cage 24/7 changed regularly and then she gets fresh veges and stuff twice a day morning and night and a lil snack when I get home from work!!! <smirk> cuz shes spoiled!

marco is just a baby ... 9 months old ... ALMOST her birthday !!!!!!!!!!!! shes a xmas baby! well the 23rd

marco dint know what to do with the ice lol ...
