  3. Joolesgreyuk asked; Is there a story behind the name "Salsa" Maggie? Why, yes Julie, I did a post in the Amazon Room Titled "How Salsa got her Name". Thanks for asking! I hope you enjoy the story... Thanks Judy...yes she sure is...:woohoo: Maggie
  4. As you all may or may not have been aware...Spock hates baths!!! We have tried everything...from misting him (or trying to), taking him with us in the shower, bringing a tub of water on the table and coaxing him in it...well, you get the picture. All he does is fly away screaming at us for the indignity along with a few well-chosen bites. All our other fids love their baths and they all love their vinegar water. Spock loves to steal veggies out of their vinegar water bath and then he steals sips of water out of the bowl too. Last night, Maggie had been soaking the veggies in preparation for the evening meals and Spock flew over and landed for a drink. Before we knew it, he was trying to take a bath in the bowl with the veggies...:woohoo: I have attached a version of a ten minute (ordeal) in which Spock gives himself his own bath...too funny... Saturday, Spock's morning weight was down . he weighted 445 grams, not to worry, everything else was ok...Last night before bed he weighted 473 grams, he still loses a lot of weight, he has food in his cage all night long...The worst part is his crop is really sunken and his breast bone protrudes. 16. Harrison's is one of the best food's available, not a single one of our fids will eat it. Your bird needs certain nutrients that can come from many different foods, pellets, seeds, veggies, chicken turkey and fish, eggs, pasta, grains and legumes etc, and each of these foods supply some of these needs in various amounts, so, it's not "what one food is best, but what combination?". Take a look at "Bird Food" to see what others feed there's...Sunflower seeds in moderation is great for our birds, the same with a little corn, it's fun to watch our baby's eat a slice of lightly cooked corn on the cob!!! Jay
  17. We need to find a life-home for a little guy, but that won't be a problem, he just needs some one to talk to and he'll be ok, he needs attention... Jay and Maggie
  18. Ranaz, your a good man with all your offers of help...Ramsabi, have you explored "Heavy Metal Poisoning"? On the site I sent you. http://www.avianweb.com/heavymetalscreeningkits.html Cilantro is used for Heavy Metal removal, it's safe and also good for our parrots.....We do give it to all our fid's.... Jay
