Erm, I love my perch, I love my boing - I'll keep my foot on the perch, the other on the boing, nope, that's not going to work! She is such a minx! This is the problem - our babies are spoiled! Give them too much choice and this is what happens!! Great video (as always) of Emma - given me a late night giggle. Thanks for that!
-
Aw, a dream job AND dream pets! Darwin and Apollo are absolutely gorgeous! They both look like little babies still - thanks for these (and sharing your fab job with us!!). Jill x

Ha Ha! No - I'm in the house - I'm like a pilot light - I never go out!! I've just endured two hours of some crap teenage movie (night in with Katie after her trip to Norfolk with Michael's aunty and uncle) with dips, nachos, chocolate and oh - yes, there might have been the ODD glass of vino blanco (for me - she's 15 and not going down the same path I did!!!) tossed in along the way!!!

What an absolute, tiny, gorgeous baby - looks so at home with you x:)

I often think that Harvey's got too many toys on his playstand! I had to laugh when I saw this - he merges in!

Greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area
JillyBeanz replied to ScottY's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi Scotty - nice to see you and Alexander. He is a fine looking bird, and looks fresher than I did at 25! Looking forward to hearing about your experiences over the last 25 years! -
There are some morons in the world. A lot is made of the ivory and fur trade, but nothing much about feathers, because its "just a bird". It's disgusting that profit can be made from any animal products. The guy that is proposing that his CAG Pandora has moulted these feathers is an absoute disgrace. Harvey is now 8 months old and I have seen one small red feather and one proper red tail feather (which I've kept!!). I really need to get down off my soapbox now - this would (if I went on) be a lengthy, ranting, spitting and swearing post. Oh - yeah, I agree with Dan & Judy - behead these fools - but with a rusty dinner knife!
-
The bathroom? I feel there's too many dangerous areas in the bathroom (mine is just big enough for a bath, a toilet and a sink, with a place on the floor for a mat!!) - if he takes flight he'll bang into walls and fall on the hard sink/toilet/bath - is your bathroom huge? I just take Harvey into the conservatory, with the TV off and nobody around - no other distractions than me. He will fly off eventually, when he's had enough! That's fine though - as he will stay for quite a long time.
-
I want one, I want one, I want one - oh, I've got one - it's just it doesn't talk yet!!! That is absolutely hilarious!! I wouldn't have been able to do anything for laughing either!! What a little so and so Whisper is!! {Feel-good-0002006E}

Business Law and Civil Litigation!! As! I'm mates with a genius everyone!!! Never mind the list Robin - the qualifications do it for me!!! :cheer: May I add number 8: 8. Harvey's just chewed a chunk of plaster out of the corner of my study wall (whilst pretending he was biting a toy! Blender? Just give the ingredients - I'll blend them in my mouth!!
-
I taught Harvey straight away (he was 16 weeks). Step up is the most important (as you'll sharp find out when he's into everything!!!). Harvey liked cheerios to train with - but like Caitlin says - that's been replaced with praise - I've just taught Harvey to shake hands - without the aid of a treat - my sweet voice and smile are enough for my baby!!! Start as you mean to go on!! :cheer:
-
Stazel is beautiful - a really pretty bird. She is obviously settling in well and is a lucky birdie enjoying the sunshine too there in Florida. Looking forward to seeing more of her.
-
Ha Ha! Your adverts are much funnier than ours!!! Thanks Dan - that's absolutely hilarious!! :woohoo:
-
Ha Ha! You should have told him that it was lucky!! Naughty little Alfie making a show of daddy like that!!!
-
How exciting!! I was told by my breeder in that low, concerned voice, how I should keep Harvey's perches low, his food bowls on the floor etc - if it made me feel better put a towel in the bottom of the cage. I followed his advice to the tee - three minutes after putting Harvey in the cage he was hanging upside down - there was no stopping him!!! I don't know if Harvey is clumsy, he's just got no fear! In hindsight - the towel would have been covered in poop!!
-
Ahh! Lyric will be absolutely fine! I had the same worries when I went away for a whole two weeks and I left Harvey in a strange house, with these two strange humans (my parents!!). Dad sent me text pics of Harvey and it was clear to see that he wasn't missing me at all!! When we came home, he came straight to me and kissed me to death! You'll have an absolutely fab time - and just think - no parrot poop!!!
-
Harvey was "banded" by the breeder when he was born - would you all advise I have it removed? To be honest, I don't really think that there's much that Harvey could get his caught on in our home - unless somebody can come up with some examples? He's never left alone and doesn't go upstairs without us - he's always "supervised".
-
OMG! I'm not worried about Harley, because I know that he'll be in prime, tip top condition with your care and attention - but those poor other birds. He bonded to you quickly because he knows where he's best off!! I'd report her alright - what an evil, evil woman she is. She can't be allowed to treat the other birds in this way - they don't have a "Pat" to rescue them.
-
Harvey LOVES his seed sticks - and when I leave him I often give him one. He doesn't eat it - a few bits may slip down his throat, but the rest go on the floor, the skirting boards, the cage etc (you get the idea). I came in from work and decided to take it down - he doesn't need it when he's out of the cage. I put it in a safe place, and went and made a drink. One whole minute later I returned to find this: I suppose at least he's eating it in the dining room, at the dining table!!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/08/13 19:52

Up & coming site for lost birds - Global!
JillyBeanz replied to Joolesgreyuk's topic in Lost & Found Bird Room
I've registered Julie - thanks for this. What a fab, fab idea - even better if it's global. I've realised that there are so many people from all over the world registered on this forum - it's so amazing. I just hope I personally never need to use them. -
Lost African Grey - Hillsboro, OREGON
JillyBeanz replied to zandische's topic in Lost & Found Bird Room
I was hoping there'd be some news zandische after we were chatting last night. I don't think you can do any more than you are doing - but I understand that you'll never think that what you are doing is enough - you are doing all you can to bring T-bird home. Fingers and toes crossed for little Athena. Jill x -
Ha Ha! Poor little kitty! I knew a guy who could make an absolutely fantastic mimic of a cat and used to wind my friend's cat up to distraction!! The cat sharp worked out who was doing it - but your cat obviously can't! Poor demented soul!!
-
They make all types of noises when they're with their toys. Harvey sounds like he's gasping for air and that his throat is restricted! It's excitement. He only ever makes this noise when he's with a certain ball - his wings drop and he won't let you near it! I'm sure your baby is just having fun. He might think the ball is it's mommy!
-
do you think my husbands trying to tell me somthin
JillyBeanz replied to Tycos_mom's topic in Off-Topic Discussions
OMG - yes, of course there's a hidden agenda! Like Char says (sorry guys) there's ALWAYS strings attached. He could have just bought you a new purse or some costume jewellery! Saying that, we don't know him and he may be just a tip top guy (in that regard!!). Keep it - that rainy day may be on the horizon.......! -
Ha Ha! Aren't they all - I'll have to watch what I'm saying in our house then!
