Speed drawing of the Beloved African Grey!
JillyBeanz replied to lovethatgrey's topic in The GREY Lounge
That guy has such talent - that was amazing. Thanks for that :) -
Ah - Simba loves the Aviator!! What cute photos - Cam's obviously a star too! Thanks for these - they've given me an early morning giggle

Excited to be getting a Grey! :P
JillyBeanz replied to jessdecutie18's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi Jessica - welcome to the forum. I did loads of research too before getting Harvey - I would say 99% from the guys here - and it still didn't put me off! Here you get true life views and examples and also when you ask you get great advice. You've got plenty of time to research - but you already sound like a really caring parront! Enjoy the peace until your baby arrives!! -
Pics of Emma outside at a soccer game!
JillyBeanz replied to lovethatgrey's topic in The GREY Lounge
Emma looks like she enjoyed the first half, enjoyed the second half and clowned around in between! She looks like she's watching it - These are lovely pictures, Emma's gorgeous. -
Oh god - what are we turning into! Very, very funny (but all so true)! Thank's for this - I'm going to include it in the F.A.R.T handbook!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}

As the self nominated counsellor I'd like to advise Julie to chop her ears off - how dare you have something that Beau enjoys nipping - actually you're greedy - you have two (I presume). Alcohol will numb the process of removing them! The rest of you obviously share my passion for the odd alcoholic beverage - I tell you what's worried me tho - why are we all women!!!!! Robin, I only have the two problems to send me to drink - the parrot and the husband - because this week the kids have gone off on holiday with the family!! Yeah! Same time next week (when I will be totally alone as the kids will still be away and Michael's going to London to see U2) and therefore there'll only be Harvey to drive me to drink!

How excited am I! This is relatively trivial - but up there - it's the first time I've been a "Featured Member"! Thanks all! I am soooo excited!!! {Love-00020112}
-
Oh yes! I am testimony to that - for the first time EVER - Harvey dumped on my head a few days ago! For a relatively small poop - it stinks!!!!
-
Ha Ha - behind every proud mommy there's a story of destruction!! I am so happy Caitlin that you have suffered too! I was sooooo jealous of Ecko's affiliation with the blinds and the fact that Harvey was such a monster! Thank you so much for the reassurance!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/08/07 20:43

Hello from Barrie, Ontario Canada!
JillyBeanz replied to MsGardeness's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi MsGardeness - You'll have a great time here. These people above/below (depending on today's software) are all my heroes! Harvey is here today because of them (researching as a "guest" and they still didn't put me off getting a CAG)! Love the name - I think it'll be unique! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your menagerie! Boy, you have a load! -
Harvey and the family went out in the garden this evening - he didn't move from our garden table - but this might have been due to his treat!! What do you think? Yum Yum!!!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/08/07 20:18

Judy, I have no idea what you are insinuating! It is just sheer coincidence that the initials to my newly created group may spell out something that describes something else!!! Actually - on that subject - dogs "pump" - do parrots!
-
What a little tinker! Where we live we are "water metered" and charged by the units we use. Dayo would be a liability in our house! All that is needed for this video clip is the Mission Impossible music - he's like a secret agent checking whether you are looking!!
-
That's great - I like to spy on the neighbors, but this is taking things too far....but is it! If if I could train Harvey to go incognito and feed back to me without me being detected, I'd know all the gossip in the world!!! Ecko loves you to bits - at least he's looking for you when you are outside - Harvey just bites the blinds!!!
-
Ha Ha Ha! Yes, here in Europe we deal in Celcius! There'd be no point in dealing in Farenheit - we'd never reach anything above 50! Karma to you talon for giving me a giggle - it's terrible in the morning washing your face, having to use your hairdryer to defrost the water.....!
-
Won't do step ups... allowed to pick up from cage
JillyBeanz replied to greystar's topic in Training
I did the same as Judygram - pushed Harvey until he was slightly off balance - they have nowhere to go other than your hand then and realise they do need you! You need to push him just above his feet at the front of his chest. Harvey's favourite treat when he did what I wanted at this time used to be cheerios! A cheerio was a bribe worth more than anything in the world! I never let Harvey choose to come out of his cage - I remove him each time - I'm the boss around here and he knows it! It's a total learning curve and I find the parrot harder than I found the kids! Keep persevering - there's stuff Harvey isn't happy with (like lifting his wings) but I'm not giving in. -
As the self nominated member of the Fid Alcoholics Recovery Team (F.A.R.T) I will start the thread. Hello, my name is Jill, I'm 34 and my 33 week old Parrot (Jesus, is that all he is!) has driven me to drink. This, of course, is a huge lie - I had a loving for the odd tipple before - Harvey's just helped me along the way. Oh - and here I am with a bottle of beer in my hand! Whoops - some leader I am!!! Anyone else got a problem they'd like to share?
-
Basically our babies are shouting "Hey, it's all about me". Harvey's such an attention seeker - I swear I thought I did have a duck in the house once because I was ignoring him and trying to concentrate on ordering something! I suppose it's a bit like kids - they talk absolute rubbish for a bit and they seem to understand it fully! Just nod your head and agree with Cleo - she'll think you can speak birdie!!
-
He'll be telling all his mates.......NOT! The poor kid was about 18 and there's this 30 odd year old whistling at him! He probably didn't see Harvey - the police will be around to mine this afternoon (as long as they come before our pre-arranged alcoholics anonymous meeting - which won't work because I know who you all are and where you are from!!!). Just got into work (06.45 here) for another riveting day at work - I love it at this time in the morning tho - because even tho I work in the city there are little bunny rabits and baby birdies floating about - a veritable wildlife park!! Ha Ha Caroline - that's worse than mine! At least I didn't have to face my victim! No wonder the Royal Mail is in termoil!!!!
-
Never mind Ana Grey - can I come and live with you! What a fantastic toy the Jolly Ball is - I've never seen one - I want one!! Happy Hatchday Ana Grey - you're just a complete sweetie x
-
I'm still in love Pat - hasn't changed and I'm still not allowed one!! He is absolutely gorgeous! I know it's only been a few days, but he looks even happier and healthier than he did in your first pictures. Karma to you for being such a fab lady and giving a loving, caring home to such a stunner. My jealousy overflows!!!!
-
She is an absolute sweetie - she looks such a baby - happy hatchday Ana Grey - I love the one where she's toppled forward - it looks like she has no legs!! She is absolutely beautiful x
-
I'm just sitting here in the study, flicking through the recipes for birdie bread and muffins (going to give them a try) and Harvey's on the window sill with his willow ball chewing it to pieces. All of a sudden he stopped and started wolf whistling at the top of his voice one after another. I, of course, joined in and we were whistling away merrily. All of a sudden, along the footpath outside our house walks a young man with his dog - and of course could hear this immense wolf whistling and looked in! I was mortified - I wouldn't even care if he was a bit of a looker - he wasn't!! So, they destroy things, eat you out of house and home, drive you to drink and now added to the list - embarrass the hell out of you!!
-
Oh I loved this bit - Harvey (up until he was about 25 weeks) used to lie on my chest, under a blanket, with just his head sticking out - he'd sit there for hours! I loved it - he doesn't do this anymore - he's far too independent!!
-
Ha Ha - very funny! It's like our house - I sit on one sofa and Michael sits on the other!!! Ah, bless them - they love each other really! Great pictures - also happy to hear Keeko is feeling a bit better.
