I can't wait - you'll be glowing! It looks radioactive!!!! :woohoo:
-
Am I the only person in the world who would puke if this happened  ??? I honestly can't think of anything worse!!! I know it's supposed to be a sign of absolute love - but I can do without it going that far!!!
-
What a lovely picture - but I too shuddered when I saw no harness. Harvey's got a fright a couple of times when on his - and normally sits so still - he would have flown away was it not for the aviator. Well done though for being scared into submission and buying one!

# 14 There are so many dangers that a new owner needs to be aware of, so many dietary and health needs that anyone thinking of purchasing a grey should study long and hard. They can't just be tucked in a cage when you're bored.

I'd give it a shot Judy - probably drive it better than him (do you drive boats???). I've nothing on at the weekend, I might take a little drive down South.......!!!

As you know, I harness trained Harvey no problem - and I probably thought this was because he knew no better and he was a baby. Darius now has a new life - a new mum and a new sparkle in his eye - think of the things he's already done - why wouldn't you be able to achieve a simple harness  Why don't you ask Jack (Harmonica Man) if he'll ask Steve Hartman his views and tips - obviously the best person in the world to ask - I'm sure Jack won't mind. Jill x

That is absolutely fabulous news - obviously Darius is the "big brother" Jeepers never had!! I'm with Judy - I want photos too!!

"Look at that beautiful bird daddy, flying high in the sky" little Jonny says to his dad. Little Jonny is referring to the beautiful African Grey Parrot who lives up the road with her owner. Now, this Grey is a clever little birdie who can go out of the house on her own to soar high and swoop low when, and for how long she wants. This doesn't pose a problem - one little call and she returns to her home. This has gone on since she was a little fledgling - no problems at all. One day though, whilst your she's whooping it up in the open air, a man from the parrot circus claims she belongs to him as part of Peter the Parrot Piper's Bird Band. You have no ID for your fid, you've lost it and therefore no legal right to her - and anyway - she chooses to run off with the circus! I wish that all of the items in my house were indestructable to the parrot beak!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love you, Tomorrow - You're only a day away!!!!! {Feel-good-00020114}

Bless you Tyrell - you are in a state of denial! I should post a picture of my rather expensive lamp that now resembles the sky at night - if only he'd stick to lovely toys and chews!! Don't worry - they're designed to be chewed!

danmcq wrote: No Dan - not at all, please do not be concerned. This is your grey saving your youth. It's just for you. This is better than wrinkle cream - dab lightly around the eye area for that "just botoxed" look

I think they're too small for a grey too - my cockatiel would have been nicely at home in there - but I think Harvey would suffer cabin fever. Once you've got the amount of toys you need in there, plus their feeding bowls etc, then I think it would be a bit tight.

Each day I learn something new about Harvey. Each piece of information is invaluable. I'm sure all of us (masters and novices - myself most definitely the latter!!) have a piece of information they'd like to share (I dearly hope) - and then others new to the forum can compile their "checklist". I'll start with Number 1: # 1. A hand held hoover is a necessity! Go on, add one - be it comedic or practical!

Hi Kyddvicous13 - bah - what's your real name - I can't keep typing that!! Welcome to the forum - you will find everyone very friendly and helpful. All these guys are so knowledgeable and helpful - I'm useless and just part of the entertainment's committee!! I too would love to see some photos xx

Sorry to upset you,,,But i had cause..Don't read any my Post again pls...Simple....I am a nice person,Just 1 person on here i don't get on with... Just one person! Try counting again - minus 60 karma I think represents more than one person!!

Couldn't help yourself could you! You start a new thread with the "good" news and then it degenerates into the sarcasm at the end. I'm not being funny (actually, I am) - if you've been looking for him for 12 months and 2 days and he was 2 minutes away from home - how on earth didn't you find him (considering your advertising process was so intense)!!! Yawn, yawn, yawn!
-
That is an absolutely beautiful poem - thanks Dave xx

They are such a team - they are sooooo caring (over each other too). I might have to take a week off work to watch the hatch - I'm like an expectant parent - I'm so excited as I've never seen anything like this before!!!
-
She's not alone - don't worry. She's whooping it up over rainbow bridge with my Spiky. He's been there 8 months now - he'll show her the ropes
-
Where on earth did you advertise - the Guardian!!! What a load of tosh! Facebook and You Tube are free and I'm sure it's about £20 in the Manchester Evening News!!! I wasn't around when you submitted your first post a year ago, so intrigued I read from the start. I was astonished that you had reduced yourself to gutter level talking about my friends! You are surprised your karma has slipped - I checked in a couple of hours ago and it was only - 2! You have a rude comment about members on your profile page too! I'm not sure if I'm pleased you've found Max - he's probably better off with the pub landlord - because of course - five minutes after foolishly losing him - you replaced him with another model!! Say what you want in retort - sticks and stones mate. I'm not going to reduce your karma - I've wasted enough finger strokes on you already.

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/09/15 20:57

Thanks Sheila - I've found another three small grey feathers today. He goes in the shower at least twice a week - but I've put him in tonight as a "bonus" - although he doesn't quite agree!! He's fine in himself - still full of trouble - but I think he is a bit "spiky" in places.
-
Harvey thinks he's a fruit bat too - he'll hang there all day if I let him!!
-
Mmm, tricky - I must say, some of these we share!!! Here we go: Ten facts about Harvey: 1. Prefers to say things when you're not looking. 2. Prefers broccoli to green beans. 3. Prefers to make a mess, rather than stay tidy. 4. Prefers to chew anything other than his own toys. 5. Prefers to get his own way. 6. Prefers weekends to weekdays. 7. Prefers red pellets than yellow ones. 9. Prefers showers to misting with a bottle. 10. Prefers white wine to red wine (whoops, no - that one is just related to me!!!)

I can't believe it - how devastating. I was so pleased to hear that she was picking up. I can't even start to imagine how you feel. My heart goes out to you.
