1. Installment 2! Well, this evening Harvey had a shower. He's come downstairs, standing on the top of his cage - screaming! He's possessed! I expect his head to spin at any moment. He's been upstairs, downstairs, through every room - and the latest was as I was typing this he was on his playstand and flung himself at the conservatory window (which he's never done before)! He's joined me now and is chuntering and whistling away - oh yes, now on my shoulder, but not in the quiet sense! I'm looking forward to keeping my earlobe attached. He's now on my head! Clearly he'd had his mates around last night and was a little tired. Damn! Didn't last did it (like we all expected it to!!)
2. It's a baby Muntjac deer - and I remember this story from one of our BBC shows - the deer was Rupert....and sadly it died

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/09/08 21:45
3. An unusual occurrence over the last two nights! Harvey has climbed up on my shoulder, snuggled into my neck and hasn't actually moved for the last 25 minutes. I am not touching him, nor talking to him, he's just tucked there! He's had his tea, watched me make our dinner, "helped" me make his veggies for tomorrow and now he's stiller than a statue. Has he turned the corner and decided to become the well behaved, polite mannered, cuddly snuggly that I've craved for? Nah, didn't think so either!! Wait for installment part two methinks!!!
4. Ooh, worse than first thought then - did the bank of the river creep up on you then Bernie or did you swerve to miss that duck! I've got some bolts and screws in the garage if you want a donation!!!
5. What an absolute fabulous ending! You have to get a grey now petrea - you'll miss all of us! I hope there are some folks like you live near me, just in case of the unthinkable!
6. Heated perches! My goodness, what's next! What's the weather like where you're from Katana600? Do these heat the birds, or just their feet?
7. Ah, don't sulk - I have utmost faith that your toy will be back up and running in no time ~ if all else fails, I'm good with paper planes - I can send you it flat packed?
8. Jack, this is such an informed response from obviously the person best in the world to comment on such a situation. It's such a sad situation, but I believe this lady had a moment of a lapse of concentration, and whilst what she did wasn't ideal (as demonstrated by the sad outcome) I can sort of see (concentrating hard) what she was trying to do. I don't think it's the fact that she put the bird in his cage is really the issue, it's the fact that she left it unaccompanied. I am one of these people who NEVER reads instructions - but I have to say I sat five or six times through the DVD - even laughing at the stuffed parrot, trying to learn how to do it properly. This lady will be distraught I am sure - but it was a really stupid thing to do!
9. Tiggywinkles is an absolutely fantastic charity - it takes absolutely any animal in - be it deer, reptiles, foxes and birds - but it's most famous for its hedgehogs (obviously by the name)! Jack these are absolutely superb, gorgeous, cute... words can't describe! Just a shame about the mother
10. How cute are they!! You wouldn't need a cage - just a little match box with a bit bedding in! Anyways - they'd probably get through the bars of a cage! What cuties - thanks for this Julie x:laugh:
11. I honestly think he's just tossing it out - I've just come in from work and set up his playstand - first thing he's done is pick three bits of broccoli up and flung them - no taste required! If I personally pick them up and hand them to him he'll give it a good chew, but it looks like he thinks the "green bits" are for fun Now fruit on the other hand - exactly the same as your household Dan - he'll scoff that till it's gone. He's like a stubborn child who won't eat his veggies - now what did I used to do to the kids - did I used to rub their noses in it when they didn't eat it or did I make them eat it the next morning for breakfast.....? ONLY JOKING SOCIAL SERVICES!!
12. Hi Miketrem019 (and Daisy) - Welcome to the forum - you'll find shed loads of information here to help you with Daisy. Hope you can upload some photos of Daisy - we like photos!
13. Ah - welcome back Robin - glad you've returned and are facing your demons!!! All of the description for the excuses for NOT drinking lead me to ask - WHY? This would have driven me to it!!! See ya Friday ~ Your ever supportive leader (accompanied by a bottle of beer)!
14. Dan that is just soooo funny! Harvey's sitting here watching me and trying to bark as soon as your dogs started!! It's stopped him in his tracks! I'm sure you feel so reassured he's around!! Thanks for sharing this - I love it!
15. Harvey will let me reach in for him - but brush against one of his hanging toys and boy is this a different matter! It's like a huge giant coming to our homes, lifting the roof off and lifting us out of our bed I suppose - we wouldn't be happy! Sounds like you're having a super first week - I know we all want things instantaneously - but unfortunately it doesn't happen! Keep up the good work!
16. Well, yesterday was his first day in the cage for ages (rare that we were all out but we were). I came in and his seed/pellet bowl had been chewed at, but the veggies were COMPLETELY empty - looked like they had been licked clean! Then I looked on the cage floor - he's just hoofed them out of the bowl and onto the bottom! So, I don't think any are being eaten this way. Grrrrrr!
17. Must have been those James Bond type stunts you were trying to perform!! Hammer that prop out - all will be well - looking forward to your "action shots"
18. Blinking heck - It's the Amazon Rain Forest! What gorgeous pictures of Gracie - nice little set up you have there too! Lucky Gracie. She's gorgeous!
19. Ah, how lovely - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Harvey is a talker - I'm so jealous of all the folk that have talkative parrots!! If he doesn't talk we're going down the sign language school - I'll have the world's first signing parrot!!
20. I'm sitting here in the study and in flies the pest! It's just getting dark, so I've switched the lamp on in the corner of the study. I didn't think much of it until Harvey flew up behind me and onto the door. He was really quiet and when I looked round was preening himself. The next thing all hell breaks loose - he's bobbing up and down like a fairground duck and growling, whistling and squeaking. Then I realised - his shadow is on the wall behind him - he's shadow boxing!! Who exactly told me that these Greys were intelligent!!!!
21. Oh no! I suppose it's early days Julie - they'll just have to be told like my two nieces "to share"!!! Obviously Beau's had all your attention for the past five months and this "thing" has invaded - looks like Arglye is definitely finding his feet!!!
22. Harvey loves his coconut - we buy them with the husks still on and he chews them right down to the shell - hours of fun! These are great Carol - we usually thrown them out when they get to the smooth shell - not now!! What great ideas!!
23. Emma is such a smarty pants - I love the way she keeps asking for Sachi - soooo sweet. Thanks for this - I'm gonna sit Harvey in front of it for some lessons!
24. Good old Attenborough - must be 160 and still so passionate about wildlife! Thanks for this Dan - amazing bird (and huge!!)
25. That is so, so sad. I don't understand the mentality of anyone who would leave an Aviator attached to an unaccompanied bird. I'm a fan of the Aviator - it's what we use - but I followed the DVD to a tee. This should be a stern warning for those who "think they know better".
