I agree with Julie - check what the poop is like. There are three parts to parrot poop - one is the stool (the more solid, brown/green consistency, the clear liquid is urine and the white part is urate (kidney toxins). The urine element can increase when your bird has eaten fruits and watery vegetables, and urate colour can change through diet too (but mostly white or creamy coloured is "normal"). Coral should poop in accordance with the amount she eats and drinks - but Harvey does "go" quite consistently each 10 - 15 minutes. Just keep an eye on her - you will learn what is "normal" for her.

I'm loving this!! The Scarecrow got a brain, Tin Man got a heart, Lion got courage, Dorothy got home, what did Toto get?
-
That's fantastic Pat - I bet Tyco's over the moon! Nothing's safe now eh!! There was me strongly thinking about an atom - I think you've just put me off!!!
-
A bucket! A bucket! Goodness me Janet - I'm booking a ticket to yours as we speak! A bucket!!! How big's this bucket!!!!

Not round here they don't! This morning it was quite nice (unusual UK weather) so Harvey harnessed up and into the garden we went with my coffee and his palm nut! We'd finished our breakfast and trotted round to the front to water a plant that doesn't catch the rain. Just as we came round the corner, along came our post man (who had never seen Harvey before). He's a lovely bloke and was obviously taken by Harvey (well, it certainly wasn't me - you want to see the state of me this morning!!) He decided to give Harvey a tickle (for which Harvey obliged for about mmm, 2 seconds) and then obviously bit him! It wasn't hard, and I had warned him! The postie laughed and was going back to the depot to relay his story about how he'd been "bitten" by a parrot! He said he would get the top points of the week - they keep a score chart for funny happenings on their rounds! So - I'm glad to say I now keep the posties around here amused

Goodness me, this is terrible for you - and Rishi is such a sweetie. Your nearest avian vet is probably in Dubai is it not? I'm sure there'd be border problems etc? Love from here in the UK that Rishi will get better - please let us know
-
Bah - you're right Judy - she's clearly been to that bottle extremely early today!!! Mmm - Margarita - I've never had one for absolutely ages!! I'm sure we'll have the ingredients somewhere!
-
My crown as the stupidest person in this family might be taken up by you Jingles!!! Ha Ha! Thank you for being so reassuring in the fact that there are people as stupid as me out there!!
-
Clearly you lot started F.A.R.T early!!! Here's one from me: When cheese has it's photograph taken, what does it say?

I am so happy it's Friday! I've got a cold and feel sorry for myself!! Because my sinuses are blocked it is making me feel sleepy and lethargic - but when the wine comes out later (after the 15 year old's social life us over this evening)then I am sure I will be fine!! Meeting open for another week!
-
It was a Tiffany's bracelet - lucky Elaine!! Well - I'm ready too - although Katie is out socialising tonight and I'm not picking her up until 10pm! I can't believe my drinking is to be determined by a blinking 15 year old!!! I'll be back later though - Sheila - don't worry - no drinkypoos for me either! Bernie's not here - he's in the forrest, wrestling lions and tigers and bears - OH MY! I hope he hasn't taken the bracelet into the woods.....>!

As I've said before, I've never ever been a member of any forum ever, never before - this is the first! I don't own a facebook account, a bebo a myspace or any other social networking thingymebobbie - basically because I don't want people knowing what I am doing!! I have made many friends here - and Harvey has the first 9 months of his life to thank for the members here!! I'm certainly no grey expert, I like to think myself as part of the entertainment's committee!!! I'm not sure how you find the time either Penny - but a big, big thank you for being here!! Lots of love Jill (and Harvey of course  )

Harvey sleeps on his cement perch - which is at the highest point in his cage. I used to cover him when he went back up there, of his own accord, but now he's stubborn and would stay down with his toys forever, so I cover him wherever he may be and I hear him clawing his way back up to the perch

Happy Anniversary (belated) Janet - only one year and 7500 posts - I'll have to get my skates on! I enjoy reading your posts Janet - thank you for your time and dedication. Jilll xx

Mmm - Kids Char. Erm, if I say no then I'm covered and you'll think I'm just an overprotective parront. Now, if I say yes, then I presume Social Services will be called! I haven't seen the kids since 2001 - I left them in the cupboard under the stairs!!! Funnily enough - the kids have hardly ever been to the doctors - in real life I am not a stressful person (either in work or home life) it's just this bloody parrot!!!! Now, back to the kids - have I fed them this week?
-
Bernie went to bed early - had a scrap with some bloke over a big boat (I'm not joking). He's getting on a bit - the stress has worn him out!!!
-
What is it with these keys!!! Harvey will sit with me and eye up the keyboard - there's plenty of other distractions, but the keyboard wins every time. Just a little hint Pat - perhaps you could encase your hands and the keyboard in chicken wire and therefore those naughty babies can't reach the keys - yeah, you'd look silly, but those keys would stay intact!!!!
-
I've poured the water into the top of the thing that you've got there with the coffee pot under it, but I think more R & D is needed - there's a slight "fizzing" and "popping" noise and, oops, everything's just gone dark!
-
Ooops, hold on - my mouse isn't at 90 degree angles to my keyboard, be right back. There, all better, now, what was I going to say? Whoops, hold on, my telephone is slightly tilted to the right - I'm just going to straighten it up. Back! All better. Right, what was that about OCD - what is it? Dee - Harvey was supposed to be in bed. Do not encourage him to PM you after lights out. You and I shall fall out if you are leading him astray!
-
Dan - I've had to stop him - it's "birdy byes" - he's now "driving" his food bowl - or skiing around it!!
-
Ha Ha! It came with Harvey! Purely, simply, came with Harvey. Oh - and I must say - until I decided we were to take a grey into our family I hadn't visited this forum - so I must give some of the credit to you lot for sending me nuts! {Feel-bad-00020066}
-
I used to make these when I was a kid, and taught the kids to make them when they were little! I'd forgotten though how to! Thanks for this - I'm going to give it a go!! Dee - they will definitely just tear them apart! You best start making them now for Juno's arrival!!!
-
Hey - I've had a couple already! I'm parrot stressed, I need it!!!
-
SPECIAL PARROT'S EVENING WORKSHOP (GMT +1)!!!! Right - this is what we have been waiting for - we have all of the rooms on the forum - but not one for us idiots, and by "us idiots" I wholly include myself as to of the pile! We want an idiot's room!!! This is the thread to ask all of the "stupid" questions (and not be laughed at)!! A place to share all of your stupidity (and not be laughed at) and a place to share your concerns (and not be laughed at). Actually - the bracketed statements above are an absolute lie - you will be laughed at - because you will realise that there are people on this planet as stupid as you!!! I shall start - How long can a parrot preen? Harvey's been sitting here now for 40 minutes and hasn't stopped!!!! PS. Actually - this thread isn't limited to our birds - ask as many silly life questions as you wish!!!
-
Today has been the first day for a week that Harvey hasn't moulted "grey" feathers. Today there is only the downie feathers about - but he's still scratching and preening like mad. I have my fingers crossed that this may be nearing the end........!
