1. I always notice how many members are online and how many guests are visiting our forum - I know some of the guests are members who can't be bothered to log in but, speaking from experience, I also know that some are people who are too afraid or shy to join such a well established forum. I know, from personal experience, that when you look on this forum everybody knows everybody else and you feel that by joining you would be "intruding". I would just like to say to the "hoverers" that this is SO UNTRUE! Join, sign up today!! I was once like you - I'm not a member of any other forums so this wasn't "normal" for me!! GO ON - GIVE US A GO - LET US GET TO KNOW YOU!!!

Hi Nicky ~ Welcome to the forum - you will find LOADS of information that you didn't know (I promise you)! They are so sweet at this age - loving everybody and everything and I don't want to burst your bubble - but it soon wears off!!! Looking forward to learning more about you and DJ and the rest of your family.
3. That one in the paper bag is classic! Earl is gorgeous - I bet he's keeping you right on your toes! Your avatar of him is great too! Welcome to the Forum Earl!!
4. It would be a pain really - you have to put them in each time you open the window. There's also a comment that they don't work on UK tilting windows - which is a bit strange considering it's a UK based website!!!
5. I am absolutely desperate to see Beau and Argyle in this cosy pocket - the poor things will have a complex!!!
6. Open windows - what the hell are they?
7. No, No, No Howardine - I didn't say that professional knitters were allowed! I'm only doing scarfs! When we progress to jumpers you can start class!
8. Right Rishi - here's a little talking to! YOUR PARRONTS ARE THE BEST!! You are one lucky little birdie! He's obviously on the mend - great to see
9. They've both just been on the BBC1 show "The One Show" - there's loads of funny things they uncovered - obviously including the rampant parrot. I can't wait to see it - at least my tax payers money is going on something interesting - oh, and in the background, Eastenders! I rest my case!
10. I thought there was a smell in here.......
11. This was on the TV in the UK just a couple of weeks ago - it is so funny! My Harvey's going to be famous like that one day.......!
12. Yip! Great reasons on all account - but the big WOW! Your results!! Congratulations!! You clever, clever lady! WOW!!! I wish I could have seen Dixie pooping in that lady's hair - classic! I'm going to have to drink too - this month we have paid for 2 x car tax, 2 x car service, 1 x holiday for next year, miscellaneous shopping etc etc. I didn't need to spend any more money - but last night my TV tuner blew up! I am now stuck with a lovely 42" plasma that doesn't bloody turn on!!! We're going to have to buy another tomorrow!! More expense I don't need!!!
13. I was thinking of something slightly easier - perhaps a scarf? Knit one, pearl one, drop one - oh that's F.A.R.T isn't it!
14. Ah Robin - Dixie's lovely! Harvey will only do this when I come in from work - he'll sit for 10 minutes kissing me! If I tried it now he'd bite my top lip off!!! I've looked at your other photos too - GBG is beautiful - such a little cutie!!
15. Did I welcome you back Davey? I take it back!! The bloody Tees!!! I live next to the Tyne!! We don't want any of that smog water up here!
16. Ah, Davey - so lovely to see you back!! Get yourself a decent virus checker you stingy git! Great poem (as usual) ~ welcome back xxxx
17. Ha Ha Ha!!! You haven't!! A buckwheat pouch to warm in the microwave! The kids had bears like this when they were little!! Those poor birds are going to have a complex getting into that thing! I have this cover: http://shop.parrotcare.com/cage-covers-to-suit-all-cages-371-p.asp It was bought from my breeder and recommended for our temperatures. You have made me giggle Julie - karma to you! PS. That website IS my breeder!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/10/02 14:51
18. As most of you know, Harvey had his first shower when he was 12 weeks old, and each week he has at least two. He sits there grudgingly whilst I spray the shower over him - lets me lift his wings to wet his "arm pits", but obviously I know his feathers are waterproof and the water just runs off. We've just been to the shower and as per normal he obliged - until he stood tall, spread out his wings and fluffed up!! I couldn't believe it - my neighbours will think I'm nuts with all the praise and jumping up and down I was doing!! I've chased him round the house for a photo! It's probably just a one off - but boy did I see those poor pin feathers underneath once he was wet - poor soul!!
19. I got 40 - but I am a quick typist. I was upset to read that the average is 61 - so I'm still well below average
20. I've just had a thought - T..T can be categorised for a Tuesday too! Wayhay! This is getting better by the minute!!!
21. Hi Julie - I had your concerns when I went to the Lakes in May. We left at lunchtime on the Saturday and returned on the Sunday at lunchtime - it was about 26 hours in all. I left the radio on, put plenty of dried food in and a neighbour came over to put his nightie on. I did feel totally, terribly guilty - but felt that it was less upheaval than transferring him to my mam's. He was fine - no detrimental effects at all! If only I lived closer.....!
22. This has given me a giggle this morning!! Dances just like me!!
23. Koko's having a whale of a time! These photos are great! The UK actually does have pet passports ~ I'm not sure what photos you have to submit tho!! The one of Koko sure looks fine!!
24. Hi Marlise and welcome to the forum (and obviously Elvis). Don't worry about any questions you have - ask away - even if you deem them "silly" - which to a new owner shows they care (and believe me, I'll have asked them all before you anyway!!). You will suffer many panic attacks (probably daily!) as Elvis becomes himself! I nearly had Harvey at the vet last week for growling with enjoyment (I thought he was having breathing difficulties)! I look forward to hearing more about you all
