Caitlin, Harvey is acting the same way towards my husband (who previously Harvey would do anything for). I've told him to keep persisting, but he feels downtrodden too - I hope you don't lose your confidence with Ecko - I know my husband nearly has with Harvey. You can do it - you know you can

How exciting! I remember the intrepidation well!! It's so lovely when you bring them home and find out what they like doing! Can't wait for some pictures

Since that picture he hasn't touched it!!! Julie, I get all of my parrot supplies from Midland Parrots (www.midlandparrots.com) - it's a family run company (the owners are Bob and Diane) and they are so helpful and the delivery is super quick. It's such a shame you can't get stuff like this in the states (and palm nuts) but I suppose we have to honour the restrictions don't we. I could post you one under cover of darkness in the hope it doesn't get opened at customs!!!! PS. Dear Mr Border Control - this was a joke, I promise!!!

What absolutely fantastic news!! Make sure you tell that little Rishi every single day what great parronts he has and the risks that were taken in order that he is still here!! Good news about the pellets too - they are full of all of the nutrition Rishi needs (in addition to his seed and veggies)! I am so happy that this story has such a happy outcome, as if it wasn't for you and your wife's love and devotion things would have turned out much differently. Get the camera out and get some pictures posted!!!

Bernie - I'm a member of TOOT, FART and SPEW - now what do you think of that!!!
-
Well, I didn't know how to "serve" it - I guessed that if I gave him it he would drop it and that would be me up and down every 10 seconds to give it back. My husband drilled a hole in it - put some chain through it and added a quick link - as usual, it didn't take 10 seconds until Harvey was checking it out! I hope it keeps him quiet!!!

Ah, thanks Bernie! {Love-0002011D} -
I love Stephen Fry (the presenter)! That was one fat parrot!!! Thanks for this Dan - I think he might have been trying to ice skate - his hips were moving left and right - was that what he was doing?

I have Harrison's dust in the bottom of the cage! I don't think he's eaten a great deal - but there's definitely dust!!! Mind you, it does look like dirty putty - so I wouldn't be so interested either!!

Hello, I'm Jill. I used to have all of these lovely friends from around the globe that I used to ask advice from for my little baby Harvey and for which I was eternally grateful. One day, the lovely lady that befriended me early on as she was so welcoming (I think she was called Judy or something) started persecuting me (I think because she now has all of this power as ultimate forum moderator pro type VIIII). I'm really just this shy, retiring person who finds solace in bigging herself up here as nobody in real life takes any notice of her. I really have now lost all of my self confidence due to my grey hair (Steve Martin), big nose (Steve Martin) and my ability to foam at the mouth (rabies). I must hobble off now to get a stick to scratch my back. Since the hump developed I have been unable to reach it (to wash too) - what is that smell around here? Oh well, just when I was happy..........!     -
Does your dog love your birds food?
JillyBeanz replied to Brandon97's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
I don't have a dog - but when Harvey went on holiday to my parent's house in July he met Suzy. Suzy is a four year or Weimaraner and my mam actually commented that they'd put the dyson away around Harvey's cage and playstand as they didn't need it - Suzy gobbled everything up - be it his veggies, his seeds or even his pellets! Personally, I'm going to stick to the dyson for now - a puppy and a grey - NO BLOODY WAY!! -
Ha Ha! Dee - I feel I may be of some bad type of influence in your suggestion of TOOT! I thoroughly second, or third or whatever the motion of an extra meeting! Princess Jill also throws your way a special "tinkling" karma for giving me an extra excuse for a drink!

Ha Ha Ha!! Can I be the first member of T..T please Judy. I'll T..T today, F.A.R.T tomorrow and probably S.P.E.W Saturday!! Good god, I think I may have created a monster....! Dee was okay until she got into my company Member Number 3 signing out PS. I'm sitting here with a glass of wine (yes, do you math, it's 5.09pm on a Thursday evening here in England)!!!!

Hi Marlise - welcome to the forum. I couldn't have even contemplated handrearing - we got Harvey at 12 weeks, totally weaned. We have a Welcome Room at the top of the page - please go and introduce yourself in there and tell us a little more about yourself and your family (I'm nosey and like photos too!). Looking forward to hearing more about you x

Right - so now I'm definitely mad!! Dan's describing me as Steven Martin, Janet's telling me I've got rabies and Judy is agreeing with her! Mix all together and I'm soooooo attractive -
Woah! Robin! That's a totally different forum altogether! Madame President is thoroughly acceptable (as it doesn't sound as important as Princess Jill). Now Judy - because of your new untold forum powers - I still think that you should have an honorary "Knighthood" - and since Lizzie (the Queen) isn't available - I hereby rename you - Dame Judy (not Dench)!! So, we have: Princess Jill (me) Dame Judy (not Dench) (her highness) Madame President (the one who joined the wrong forum - Robin) Empress Dee (Dee no grey yet - but bloody great cupboard)!!! Come on - let's see how high and mighty we all think we are!!!

It's not for another two months (we celebrate November 5th, Guy Fawkes Night) I thought - but the school next to me has an event on and the biggest, loudest fireworks display has just knocked Harvey off the top of the door with fright. He flew into the window - and I have basically "thrown" him in his cage for his own protection. I am so annoyed that no warning has been given - and there are people out walking their dogs too. Obviously it will be my first year with Harvey and fireworks - what will be the best way to keep him calm? Is he best with me, or in his cage? Advice, as always, appreciated

As I am the boss on this thread - I declare tomorrow (Thursday) as an official F.A.R.T Day! I'm off work on Friday after realising that I still have four more weeks to take before March! :woohoo:
